Mapplewell Manor provides residential, dementia, respite and long-term care for up to 87 residents in a modern, purpose-built setting in the heart of Mapplewell village.

Located in a quiet cul-de-sac just five minutes’ walk from local shops and cafés, the home is laid out across three self-contained floors, each with its own dining room, lounge and kitchenette. All bedrooms are single occupancy with en-suite facilities, and residents are supported to personalise their space with familiar belongings.

The home features wide corridors for accessibility, a café bar for socialising, and on-site amenities including a hair salon, therapy rooms and landscaped gardens. The central Victorian-style courtyard, complete with a water fountain, provides a calm and sociable space, while the raised flower beds and wildflower embankment support seasonal gardening activities and outdoor events.

Mum has been in Maplewell Manor now for 18 months and her care and treatment are still of a very high standard. The staff are super efficient, caring, friendly and approachable. Mum is 100 years old in September and they are already planning celebrations. This home should pride itself in its consistent
high standards of care cleanliness, nutrition and general concern for all its residents. You couldn't ask for better.

In early 2017 my very elderly parent became a resident after a heart attack and also sustaining a serious injury due to a fall at home. Before her accident at home she was anxious, depressed and not eating well, so had lost weight. Also, she had lost interest in life.
With an arm immobilised she was
totally dependant on the staff for all her needs.
As of today - purely due to the exceptional care, attention and support she has received from the brilliant staff, she is fully recovered, mobile, independent, safe, eating very well, no longer anxious and depressed and is enjoying life at Maplewell Manor, taking part in the lovely activities.
She is a new lady. I cannot rate the staff highly enough, credit is also due to them for helping me adjust to my parents new life in care.

Having visited this home on numerous occasions to visit a resident (friend). I have found the home to be extremely clean and staff happy and cheerful and very pleasant and so caring. I would recommend the home to anyone needing care.

As always - the care I received at Maplewell Manor has been first class. Management, staff, domestics, laundry and interactive, entertainment - is second to none.

My father has been resident at Mapplewell Manor for nearly two years now. During December 2017 he was seriously ill and transferred to hospital three times. He now seems to be recovering well, which is no mean feat at the age of 95. I can only continue to praise the staff for their cheerfulness, dedication
and the dignity with which they treat Dad. He is content and well looked after.

My mother has been a resident of Mapplewell Manor since 2013 and was one of the original residents when the home opened. She has received excellent care during this period and is very happy there. She has moved to an end of life plan but the service she receives has remained at the same high standard.

My parents became residents in Mapplewell Manor in February 2014 both suffering from dementia. They were looked after extremely well and I was always satisfied and confident that they were safe. My father's behaviour was sometimes challenging but all the staff were always patient and kind. My father
sadly passed away after a short illness, unrelated to his dementia, in February 2017 and the care given to him during his final few weeks was excellent and we were extremely grateful that the staff were able to look after him at Mapplewell and hospital admission was avoided.


Since then, the staff have spent a lot of time successfully integrating my mother with the other residents as she and my father spent most of their time together in their own rooms. The staff have always been patient and kind to her. I always feel reassured that she is well looked after and safe and I know that they will contact me if my mother is not very well or if there are any worries or concerns. They have always called her GP promptly if they have had any concerns about her health.


I continued to be extremely happy with my mothers care at Mapplewell Manor.

Generally pleased with friendly staff - high standards of cleanliness around the building (ground floor) - monitoring of my mum has been generally very good - a few incidences where she was wet (urine) and clothing was occasionally soiled and hung in the wardrobe.


Cafe is a massive plus!!! and staff

generate a happy positive atmosphere. Not sure there is enough variety of entertainment/interest for the residents. Generally very happy with mum being placed at Mapplewell Manor.

My mother was fiercely independent and she considered that moving into a home was in some way a failing on her behalf. Mapplewell Manor changed all that. She could not believe how caring the staff could be and how much at home she felt.

Each time I visited my friend always found the people (staff) to be friendly and helpful. I can't really comment on management as I'm only a friend to the resident and wouldn't have any dealing with them. The home is clean and a warm feeling.

My first impressions of the airy, bright, very welcoming coffee lounge, the open aspect of the building and the friendly staff were all extremely encouraging. I was also very impressed with the knowledge and experience of the manager, on her initial home visit. Throughout my mother's stay, those first
impressions never faded they were only exceeded. Mapplewell’s excellent performance starts at the top with the Manager who leads by example and is delivered by all the caring and devoted staff for whom nothing is too much trouble. Meals are tailored to guest's diets. My mother was blind but her needs were always recognised especially by the staff coordinating activities and entertainment. Most importantly I never had cause to worry about my mother's care during her 2-year stay. Staff were available 24/7 for any queries. Mapplewell Manor is a well organised and well-run care home where all staff take great pride in their work and surroundings. Thank you all for my mother's wonderful care.

This home is the best one I have ever been to. It's also the cleanest. Most of the staff make you welcome and I could not have wished for my friend to have a better place to live. It's beautiful and a home I hope I will end up in if it comes to that.

A truly excellent care home. Mum spent almost 2 years there and was very happy. When mum became ill, the love, care and kindness given were incredible. Mum was ill for several weeks, the end of life care was exemplary. Nothing was too much trouble and the staff went beyond the call of duty to care for
mum.


Not the cheapest, but without doubt, the best in South Yorkshire. Thank you, everyone.

Mapplewell Manor is a beautifully decorated and furnished home up to a good hotel standard. It is always spotlessly clean and doesn't feel like a care home when you go in.


The staff are always cheerful and attentive to the needs of the residents. During Mum's final days at the home, all the staff

were looking after her as if she was one of their own. When the family were unable to be with her there was always a member of staff present to watch over her. There is always activities organised and mum enjoyed poetry writing, singing and going out to lunch before she became ill. The staff and their attitude to the residents are a real bonus in this care home.
