The environment and surroundings are very pleasant. My mum is a resident on the top secure unit and will now not go downstairs for entertainment.
Most patients on the top floor seem to benefit immensely from live music entertainment, unfortunately this does not seem to happen on a regular basis.

Some of the staff have helped raise funds to assist this, but as a family, we would appreciate a little more funding being used in this area for the more advanced dementia suffers.

Mum has been here since February 2016 and found staff very good. She has made good friends and from being a very private and quiet lady, has come out of her shell and mixing well with the other residents, taking part in most of the activities.

My father, myself and my sister were treated with respect and dignity. The staff were happy, pleasant and nothing seemed too much trouble for them I cannot praise them enough.

The home was very clean and well run, I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone. It is not a good time for any family but it was made a lot better and easier by all the staff.

Mum was approaching the end of her life and the wonderful staff at MApolewell Manor made it possible for her to stay in her familiar surroundings and receive all her care in situ. She was surrounded with the love and care of the Woodlands unit care staff and manager. The staff were very supportive of us (her family) and made it possible for use to stay with mum until she passed away. She was treated with love, dignity and respect. Thank you to you all.

The care given to my husband over the last three years has been outstanding. All the carers have been excellent. They have cared for him with compassion and dignity and have shown a general understanding of his condition. They have offered me comfort and support throughout his stay.

My father has been a resident of Mapplewell Manor for almost three years. During that time he has received excellent care. His needs have been met in a caring, professional manner. He has benefited from the friendly interaction between the carers and has enjoyed the loving caring attention that has been bestowed upon him. The care and attention to detail in caring for him has been excellent.
We, as a family, have been kept well informed of any changes affecting him. We too have also received friendship, compassion and support on an almost daily basis and have been made to feel that our opinions and feelings are important.

It is a happy, warm, caring and safe environment both for the residents and for visitors and I would not hesitate to recommend it to friends and family.

My sister, being in this home for two years tells me the food standard has dropped. Cheap meals, poor selection of sweets or puddings. The staff are very helpful and polite. The rooms are very clean. Beds changed regularly. Big change over in staff.

I had been looking for a care home for my aunt I had visited quite a few around Plymouth. I also wanted one, if possible close to my home for visiting purposes. I went for a visit to Harbour Health Care and I liked very much what I saw, plenty of activities for the residents, the food was good, the staff were excellent, to say the least.
The manager did all she could to make the move for my aunt seamless which was really good. She also runs a tight ship with her staff, they all know she is the boss.

But the biggest thing is when you walk through the front door, you are not greeted with the smell of urine.

This is only day two but so far we are really impressed. The manager has given us her time and lots of helpful information, another lady has made the whole experience that is so upsetting bearable. The gentleman has made more personal service comfortable and has gone our of his way to help my dad settle everyone down to tuning in his T.V. It's early days but I feel happy and confident to leave my dad in your care. Keep up the good work guys.

My mum has been in Mapplewell Manor for over two years. She is content and happy. This is contrary to how she was before going to live there. The whole team of staff take great care of mum, they are helpful and friendly. Their concern for her well-being are evident. Mum's room is lovely, bright, light and very clean.

I am so happy I brought my mum here all the way from Scotland, the staff have been brilliant in all areas, carers, cafe, office, management, laundry and seniors. If I could put this place in a bottle and share it across the UK I would. I love coming in to visit mum. Mapplewell Manor is a very happy place to come to and the entertainment team are fabulous. Massive thanks to everyone, my mum is thriving and I am at peace with myself.

I feel safe and secure in this home, my room is very clean but I like to spread my things around. I have made many friends. I enjoy all activities, especially the quizzes and raffles. The hairdresser is very good, I like the way she does my hair. I am very picky eater and they accommodate my preferences.

My mother was admitted after struggling at home for a year after my father died. She had multiple health problems and early dementia. The home was wonderful and in their luxurious surroundings with their care and the activities they provide my mother was rejuvenated. She developed confidence and made many new friends amongst the residents and staff. She became more like the person we knew. They accepted her back from hospital in May for end of life care and she died 11th May. Their care was faultless. i can recommend them highly enough.

Mum had a minor stroke in 2013 and could no longer live alone. She was the first person to live in Mapplewell Manor. It was like a 7 star hotel. The staff were fantastic. Her first year was excellent and she was very happy. Unfortunately she developed very bad dementia. For the last 2 years she lived on the 3rd floor with other dementia cases. The staff were very attentive and she appeared to be happy but her health became worse. She died peacefully in the night.
