Mapplewell Manor provides residential, dementia, respite and long-term care for up to 87 residents in a modern, purpose-built setting in the heart of Mapplewell village.

Located in a quiet cul-de-sac just five minutes’ walk from local shops and cafés, the home is laid out across three self-contained floors, each with its own dining room, lounge and kitchenette. All bedrooms are single occupancy with en-suite facilities, and residents are supported to personalise their space with familiar belongings.

The home features wide corridors for accessibility, a café bar for socialising, and on-site amenities including a hair salon, therapy rooms and landscaped gardens. The central Victorian-style courtyard, complete with a water fountain, provides a calm and sociable space, while the raised flower beds and wildflower embankment support seasonal gardening activities and outdoor events.

My sister, being in this home for two years tells me the food standard has dropped. Cheap meals, poor selection of sweets or puddings. The staff are very helpful and polite. The rooms are very clean. Beds changed regularly. Big change over in staff.

Today we visited our cousin and were so impressed with this home and the staff were excellent.
It is a great comfort to know that she is in such a lovely manor, everyone treating her with dignity. Thank you all for all you are doing for my cousin, it's much appreciated. Excellent surroundings.

I had been looking for a care home for my aunt I had visited quite a few around Plymouth. I also wanted one, if possible close to my home for visiting purposes. I went for a visit to Harbour Health Care and I liked very much what I saw, plenty of activities for the residents, the food was good, the
staff were excellent, to say the least.
The manager did all she could to make the move for my aunt seamless which was really good. She also runs a tight ship with her staff, they all know she is the boss.
But the biggest thing is when you walk through the front door, you are not greeted with the smell of urine.

This is only day two but so far we are really impressed. The manager has given us her time and lots of helpful information, another lady has made the whole experience that is so upsetting bearable. The gentleman has made more personal service comfortable and has gone our of his way to help my dad settle
everyone down to tuning in his T.V. It's early days but I feel happy and confident to leave my dad in your care. Keep up the good work guys.

My mum has been in Mapplewell Manor for over two years. She is content and happy. This is contrary to how she was before going to live there. The whole team of staff take great care of mum, they are helpful and friendly. Their concern for her well-being are evident. Mum's room is lovely, bright, light

I am so happy I brought my mum here all the way from Scotland, the staff have been brilliant in all areas, carers, cafe, office, management, laundry and seniors. If I could put this place in a bottle and share it across the UK I would. I love coming in to visit mum. Mapplewell Manor is a very happy
place to come to and the entertainment team are fabulous. Massive thanks to everyone, my mum is thriving and I am at peace with myself.

I feel safe and secure in this home, my room is very clean but I like to spread my things around. I have made many friends. I enjoy all activities, especially the quizzes and raffles. The hairdresser is very good, I like the way she does my hair. I am very picky eater and they accommodate my preferences.

My mother was admitted after struggling at home for a year after my father died. She had multiple health problems and early dementia. The home was wonderful and in their luxurious surroundings with their care and the activities they provide my mother was rejuvenated. She developed confidence and made
many new friends amongst the residents and staff. She became more like the person we knew. They accepted her back from hospital in May for end of life care and she died 11th May. Their care was faultless. i can recommend them highly enough.

Mum had a minor stroke in 2013 and could no longer live alone. She was the first person to live in Mapplewell Manor. It was like a 7 star hotel. The staff were fantastic. Her first year was excellent and she was very happy. Unfortunately she developed very bad dementia. For the last 2 years she lived
on the 3rd floor with other dementia cases. The staff were very attentive and she appeared to be happy but her health became worse. She died peacefully in the night.

My mother is very happy with some aspects of the home. The qualty of the food is variable, my mum is a full fee payer and does not feel that the food reflects the monthly cost. The carers are very good and meet my mothers needs promptly and with kindness and consideration.

My mother became a resident on the 7th of September at the age of 89. During her stay she has been treated with dignity and kindness by everyone. The home has excellent facilities and a very dedicated and caring team of staff.
It is managed extremely efficiently and overall provides an excellent environment
for elderly care. I have no hesitation in recommending it as an example of how care could and should be provided.

My mother, with mental incapacity and thus able to live alone, has completed six months at Mapplewell Manor. She could not be happier and appreciates how lucky she is to be in such a caring and stimulating environment. Her birthday party showed the home and the staff to be outstanding.

I have lived here for three weeks. I love my room the view is lovely. Water fountain and flower beds. I enjoy the food especially here especially the cakes and buns. I feel the staff are very good and they don't rush me and are helpful with everything, my two daughters would like to stay here with
me because its like a hotel and not a nursing home. I haven't been to any of the activities yet, because don't like to mix, but I have promised my daughters I will try to join in.

When we looked round we made our decision straight away. The whole set up is fantastic and my family and I have made the decision after three weeks at staying at Mapplewell Manor. I would love to stay permanently. The staff are respectful the food is good always nice and hot. I would like a larger room
is possible. I would like a larger room if possible. The entertainment is very good, classical modern and comedy all varieties of activities to suit everyone. I wish my family could stay with me, they do enjoy them visiting.

This is a care home that sets standards for others to follows. Always clean, well staffed, very caring staff, good food. Hotel standard rooms. Whole building decorated to a high standard. My wife was a nursing sister and I think she gets the care she deserves.

My mother is a resident in the EMI unit. My mother is treated with dignity and respect. The staff are kind and professional. The premises are of a high standard and clean. Food is of a good standard and staff actively encourage my mother to eat and drink regularly.

The staff have built a good relationship with her and she generally responds well to them.
The general atmosphere on the unit is welcoming, friendly and comfortable and encourages visitors to spend time there.
