Our mum spent nearly six years at Mapplewell Manor. In all that time, she was very well looked after and treated with respect and dignity.
During her last days, the end-of-life care she was given and support the family received was excellent!

We have no doubt we would recommend Mapplewell Manor.

Mum has been a resident for 12 months, and after her initial respite stay for three weeks, then a further three weeks, she absolutely loves it. Did not want to return home, has always been happy and content, and care is of a really high standard. Meals are varied and adequate. Care and attention given to residents' health needs are met to a high standard. Staff are always friendly and will help with any problems or questions.

When visiting the park in Mapplewell, Dad would say if he needed to go into a home it would be Mapplewell Manor, he liked how the home looked and the lovely outside spaces.
Whilst looking around the home for a period of respite, Dad made the decision there and then that he would like to stay permanently. We agreed the home is beautiful, clean, spacious and the residents we saw looked happy. Staff were informative and very friendly and Dad loved that there was a coffee shop.
Dad's health was deteriorating and unfortunately he only had a few weeks there before he died. We are sorry we didn’t get the chance to get to know staff better but the staff we dealt with were lovely and supportive as Dad moving to a home was difficult for the family. More importantly, Dad spoke highly of everyone, he couldn’t believe how lovely the food was and told us he was especially pleased to be offered toast and tea when he woke up during the night.

Thank you everyone who cared for Dad.

My grandma had been a dementia resident since April 2019 until she sadly passed away recently. During her time at Mapplewell Manor she has received outstanding care from all the staff. We feel that they have treated her as if she were a member of their own family and we felt comforted and supported by this. Throughout a really difficult time for us as a family before she passed away the staff could not do enough to help us all. They kept my grandma clean and treated her with the dignity she would have wanted. We are extremely grateful for this. The home is clean, decorated lovely and maintained well. Myself and my husband visited regularly and we will really miss our times there. I would highly recommend Mapplewell Manor to anyone considering.

Mapplewell Manor have cared for both my parents since before lockdown. Sadly they have now both died but the care they received was incredible under the most difficult circumstances. I comforted myself that apart from having the contact with me they would have wished for, they had every other single need met and I knew they were safe, cared for and had social contact. Every member of staff that I have come to know as friends have given them so much, often working long hours but always with a smile. The home is beautifully decorated and we tended a little garden for Mum, my grandchildren called it Great Grandad and Great Grandma's hotel, and that stuck, it is a care home like no other I have ever been in. I will miss my daily visits and cannot thank everyone enough for allowing both my parents a peaceful and dignified end to their lives.

Mum became a resident during lockdown so we struggled with this as we were unable to go into the home to see where we were putting her. 8 months on we are really pleased with the care she has received from day 1. All the staff are lovely and seem genuinely interested in the residents and not just doing a job.
Would definitely recommend the home to anyone in a similar position.

What a lovely home! I was able to look around in person at the time when I was considering potential homes for my husband, as Covid restrictions were just beginning to ease. From the moment I went in, everything just 'felt' right; from the decor of the shared areas and bedrooms to the manner in which I was greeted by staff. Along with what I already knew about the MHA group, I had no reservations in arranging a place in the Residential Dementia Unit. The staff are exemplary and the food excellent and abundant. Sadly during the first 2 weeks, it became evident my husband's needs had quickly become more complex and although staff tried their utmost under testing circumstances it was clear he needed support in a nursing environment and regretfully I had to move him.

Whenever I have been able to visit Mum during these unprecedented times, I have been impressed by the dedication, integrity and compassion of all the staff. They do a fantastic job and deserve the biggest of pay rises of all people in the care sector.

Mum feels herself very lucky to be so well cared for at this stage in her life.

The level of care shown by the staff at Mapplewell Manor has been exemplary. My mother has been a resident now for four years, and we have been very happy with the staff and her ongoing care. The challenges of the Covid pandemic have been huge, and we appreciate the dedication of the whole team in continuing to support our mother.

My mother passed away recently (14/7/20) but I wanted to express my thanks to all the staff on Village Suite. They have cared for Mum for four years and we have been extremely pleased with the staff at Mapplewell. Mum had everything she wanted in a beautiful environment, both inside and out. We were so pleased that the staff could attend the funeral in these difficult times. Well done!

My mum had been a resident in Mapplewell Manor for just over two years, until she passed away on 8th June. She was always so happy there and often referred to it as 'home'. Mum said she felt safe and that her care was excellent. She became very fond of her carers and always enjoyed her little chats and time spent with them. Myself and the family have always felt great comfort in knowing that Mum was so settled and have great confidence in the excellent standard of care she's received. During the lockdown, senior staff regularly organised video calls for me and Mum. In Mum's final days, the carers were exceptional in helping her to remain as comfortable as possible whilst retaining her dignity. Thank you so, so much everyone.

My mother died in Mapplewell Manor in April 2020 after two and a half fairly tumultuous years in which her care needs, varied enormously. Staff adapted magnificently to her changing needs and persevered when at times it seemed her needs might be too much them. Mum was treated with dignity, kindness and compassion. She wasn't particularly keen to join in activities, but she held a special affection for an activity staff member whose remit seemed to include so many other caring activities other than just entertainment. "Thank you".

Mum's terminal illness came at a time when Mapplewell Manor was in the throes of isolating residents suffering from Covid-19. It was clearly a stressful and frightening time for all staff but there was no hesitation in saying "Yes" when I asked to come and be with Mum. "Thank you". In spite of being anxious and worked off their feet, staff were still able to offer me a kind word, a cup of tea and a smile. "Thank you" staff on Woodlands Floor.

My Grandmother is a current resident on Gardens at Mapplewell Manor (top floor). Staff there work extremely hard to uphold high standards of care, safety and ensure the happiness of their residents. Administration staff and team are always helpful. Those in senior posts (manager, team leader and senior staff) are true professionals who are highly experienced in their field yet approachable and responsive to their residents needs down to a personal level. I can concentrate at work and sleep at night resting easy in the knowledge my Grandmother is in excellent hands. That is priceless.

I would definitely recommend Mapplewell Manor to other families who may be looking for a care home for their loved one. I would express my appreciation for all the staff who work there and how they all give over 100% in the job that they do. The care and understanding of every resident is outstanding which is always delivered in a compassionate manner. Dignity for the residents is always maintained. This, in turn, makes for really happy well looked after residents where their physical, mental and emotional needs are met in a clean and modern environment. Indeed I have already recommended Mapplewell Manor to others.

This is a happy place, plenty of staff who are enthusiastic, proactive and caring. The home itself is very bright, modern and comfortable; with good facilities and activities for the residents. The food is good as well. My Mum became a resident in October 2019 at which point she was very frail and thin. Unfortunately, she will never be well again, but her condition has improved remarkably since she arrived. It's a weight off my mind knowing that she is being cared for so well.
