Whilst there she enjoyed many of the activities and excursions and the special treats provided or special occassions ie: Birthdays.
She also very much enjoyed a daily visit to the tea bar for coffee and cake.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all the staff for the outstanding care, compassion, and dignity shown to my mother during her final days. Your kindness, professionalism, and unwavering support provided great comfort not only to her but also to our entire family at a very difficult time. We will always be grateful for the respect, warmth, and exceptional care you gave her, ensuring she was comfortable and treated with dignity until the end.
The careers and nurses were kind. Gave mum safety and security. Very kind and helpful. They did there very best. Despite being short staffed.
We are so pleased to hear that you found the staff to be kind, helpful and provided your mum with safety and security. The team hold themselves to a very high standard and your kind words will be appreciated by them...
Mum has been very well cared for loved the activities and walks in the garden which is excellent. It keep run activities which is very impactful. The staff treat the residents with a great deal of dignity and care. Excellent job by all.
I regularly visit my grandma and am met by wonderful, caring staff who can't do enough for our grandma. We feel at peace knowing she is at The Potteries. She interacts with other residents and staff and always has activities to keep her occupied. Our favourite is the cafe where the whole family can came and socialise with delicious tea and cakes.
My Uncle has been a resident for the past months and the dedication and genuine care shown to him gave him great dignity and ensured he got the most out of these past months. Nothing was too much trouble and the great communication between everyone involved made a difficult time as easy as it could be.Thank you..
My daughter and I visited The Potteries in June 2025 and I knew from the outset that this would be the home of my choice for my husband. I liked the spacious ground floor entrance, the friendliness of the staff and on listening as to how the dementia residents are cared for, I felt at ease. I felt that whilst, at first, things may be difficult once settled, all would be well. My husband became a resident in July 2025 and with the care, kindness and understanding shown to him in those first few weeks settled far better than I had anticipated . From the very outset I felt "at home", and that I could talk to any member of staff about any concerns that I may have regarding my husband. My husband has now been a resident at The Potteries for eight months during which time the care that he has received has been exceptional, the activities and the one to one sessions provided by the lifestyle team are amazing and that we can now, once more, enjoy our time together as husband and wife.
The Potteries Care Home is a lovely and well preserved home that provides caring and supportive staff throughout. It also offers very good facilities, accommodating no only (and more importantly its residents), but also families and visitors. For example, it presents a lovely refreshments area, offering hot and cold beverages, cakes etc, for residents, family and friends to enjoy in a comfortable environment. Furthermore, provides a comprehensive selection of activities for residents to choose from and enjoy weekly.
My mother has been a resident at The Potteries for over three years and I am pleased with the care she receives. Mum is physically disabled but mentally agile; it's reassuring to see her needs considered and supported - this is routinely reflected in her cheerful disposition. The staff are kind and patient, and willing to answer questions, quickly sort any issues, and will often go 'a step beyond'. The Potteries is welcoming and clean, and the family is reassured that mum is in the best hands: safe, well cared for, and happy.
It's reassuring to see that Mum is comfortable, well looked after and supported with her individual needs. The team work hard in what can be a demanding environment, and their dedication shows in the way they interact with residents.
The home itself is clean and welcoming, and there is a friendly atmosphere when we visit. We appreciate the efforts made to keep Mum engaged in inclusive activities.
We feel Mum is in good hands and are grateful for the support provided to her and to us as a family.
My gran is very happy at the Potteries. After residing in other local homes that could not meet her needs. She loves the activities and said the food is amazing. All the staff are very kind and caring. She is living her best life! Thank you to everyone at The Potteries, you all do an amazing job.
Lovely modern, welcoming care home situated in a quiet residential area with good public transport links. All staff and management are very attentive and really do make residents and visitors feel valued. Im confident my mother's getting the best care possible at The Potteries.
Dad was fussy with food and they made sure they changed his menu to suit his likes and dislikes each day, so he always had foods he wanted.
The activities were always fun and engaging and dad enjoyed being there to take it all in.
Rooms are big and well equipped.
Having nurses on hand was great for him too.
Was a shame he had to go home.
There are some exceptional members of staff that go above and beyond and helped make my mum's time at the Potteries as enjoyable as it could be in the late stages of Dementia.
We were devastated when we had to move mum to a different care home due to financial reasons. Unfortunately mum did not adjust well to the move and passed away shortly after.
I have fond memories of mum's time at the potteries.
We visited The Potteries for the 1st time this month as we live in Canada. My MIL has been there since June and seems very happy and settled. The staff were very involved and interactive with all the residents and it was reassuring to see how much everyone was cared for. It is so nice to see how much was going on and to see the enrichment programs offered. Thank you for all you do for the residents.

I was very happy with the respite care my mum received. The care workers were kind and respectful to her needs. Mum was made to feel at home. The activites were good and she loved going to the cafe with family and having coffee and cake. I would definitely recommend The Potteries.

The Potteries is excellent. All the staff are caring, kind, helpful, friendly and approachable. They react quickly to any queries. The home has a cosy and warm atmosphere and is kept clean and tidy. I have been at The Potteries for 3 weeks now and have settled in well and am also enjoying the food and some activities. A carer or nurse will check on me every hour and help me at meal times. I could not wish to be in a better care home, it is perfect for me.

Mum has lived at The Potteries for just over 5 years. During this time her care has been excellent and the support for the family has been decorated with new furniture too which is very welcome. The current staff are all so friendly and the food is excellent.
My mother spent 3 weeks in The Potteries care home. The room was lovely overlooking the gardens. We were met by the manager who explored everything to us. Even had a welcome card and gift bag - nice touch. Staff seemed caring, everywhere was very clean and residents seemed content. The lady on reception was a bit distant, no conversation - a visitor to my mum also mentioned this. Otherwise mum seemed very happy.
We would like to assure you that our staff always enjoy seeing loved ones visiting the home and spending time with residents. We apologise if you felt any disconnect...

Meet the Team (1)

I began my social care career as a carer and worked my way up. That’s given me a very helpful perspective and understanding of what my team does. Even now, I’m always ready to roll up my sleeves and help if the need arises.
I believe that effective care is personalised care. Our team gets to know each resident well. We know what they enjoy doing, and we help them to continue to experience those things.
It’s also vital to keep up-to-date with developments in care so that we can bring benefits to residents. We recently took delivery of a Tovertafel, or ‘magic table’, which uses the latest technology to enable residents to play simple, fun interactive games, either on their own or with others. The tables have proven benefits: helping people who are living with dementia to develop their communication and cognitive skills and mobility.
