other privately arranged healthcare. Should you require an escort to hospital appointments, we may apply
an agreed hourly charge for this service.

My wife has been a resident for some 12 months. We have found the staff to be helpful and caring. Her accommodation is excellent and the general layout is pleasant.
Any minor complaints have always been dealt with promptly and with understanding.

My father has been a resident at this wonderful care home for the past three and a half years. I have nothing but praise and admiration for the care and attentiveness from all staff, from the manager down to the maintenance staff. I would have no hesitation at all in recommending this brilliant facility

My husband and sister have been residents at The Potteries for a few months. Their rooms are light and airy, well maintained and their needs met immediately. During this time I have never heard a member of staff raise a voice or speak disrespectfully to any residents. The The Potteries held an Edwardian
Garden Party recently. The staff entered into the spirit of the event- dressing up for the occasion and ensuring they could help as many as possible to attend. The catering was excellent. I could see the care, compassion and dedication they gave to their jobs. It was impressive.

All the staff were so lovely, very helpful and did all they could in very difficult circumstances as my husband was so very difficult to deal with.

Mum was only there for 4 days, but how I wish we had come so much sooner. The atmosphere, the warmth, the friendliness, the care, the concern, the room, all of it - all top top marks. Particularly the friendliness and helpfulness of the carers. Mum was not at all well, but the way that she was cared
for, the gentle way they managed her, in all her needs, was heartwarmingly truly inspiring. Even when she died, they were exceptional.
I will remain forever grateful that mum and us, her kids, were welcomed, cared for and treated with such respect.
(unable to rate appropriately Activities, as not taken part in - although from what I saw, they looked "good", ie interesting, entertaining).

Very happy stay for 19 days, everyone very helpful and kind. Food excellent, room very nice, laundry good. Nothing to fault. Would not hesitate to stay again and thoroughly recommend The Potteries. Staff wonderful.

It was the annual carnival in August, many of the residents were taken to see the floats, and some acted as unofficial judges. We made plaques with different slogans on, such as "Well done!".
We were fortunate the weather held whilst we were out watching the procession, we hadn't been in long before
the heavens opened! We all enjoyed ourselves.

This is the first time I have been in respite care, I chose to come to The Potteries to be near relatives who had previously visited the establishment on my behalf and who had been highly impressed with the excellent facilities and friendly staff. During my stay, I was made very welcome, and found the
staff to be very friendly, caring and attentive, and nothing was too much trouble for them. The food was of high quality and plentiful. a range of activities was available every day. I am in my late forties and suffer from MS and from my short stay here, I would highly recommend The Potteries and Care UK to anyone considering respite care.

My sister spent two weeks at The Potteries in respite care. She is in her late forties and suffers from severe M.S. Every single one of the staff made her feel most welcome and the care and attention she received was second to none. I was extremely impressed with the cleanliness of the whole establishment,
the activities supplied to keep residents and amused and stimulated and the general feeling of happiness throughout. I would have no hesitation in recommending The Potteries to anyone.

Mum had a stroke in December 15 which increased her dementia and anxiety. She was sectioned under the Mental Health Act and sadly was unable to return home. The Pottery staff have been brilliant. I cannot thank them enough for the care they give to Mum and emotional support to me during this time. Mum
is still very unsettled and a challenge to care for but they treat her with respect and maintain her dignity.

My mother is very content and settled at The Potteries. The staff are very welcoming to us as a family and my mother responds to the staff with smiles and limited conversation. She is always clean, enjoys her food and takes part in some of the activities. Her room, bathroom and bedding are always clean
with no unpleasant odors. We are kept well informed of her well being. The only criticism would be the personal laundry- blouse, skirts and knitwear get quickly run through hot washing which is understandable but costly.

I love The Potteries for my Mums care, it is excellent, any time of the day I go she always looks clean, not always happy but that's her condition. All the girls are always pleasant and helpful and all get on well together. When I feel a bit tearful about my mum they make me a cup of tea and give me

We have always been impressed by the warm welcome and the ability to have a meal/light snack at the care home as we travel from London. Mother is always clean and freshly groomed and seems very happy. Staff always communicate effectively if there is a problem.


All the staff are kind, happy and caring

towards the residents on mothers floor. Mother is no longer able to communicate verbally but staff are able to interpret her needs and requirements and we feel her care and the quality of support she receives is outstanding.

I am quite happy with the care my husband receives.
The staff are caring, kind and patient- often in difficult circumstances.
Having an activities manager is a brilliant arrangement. The one at The Potteries cannot be faulted. He is such a sweet asset.

I cannot recommend The Potteries highly enough. My mother is staying in The Potteries, the food is out of this world, all home cooking. The staff are the most wonderful people I have ever met. The nurse even does mum's nails. They are so kind and caring. All the office staff are so helpful and nothing
is too much trouble. There are not enough words to describe how wonderful this home is, it is definitely 5 star and more.

My mother had been at the Potteries for 16 months requiring nursing care. She became ill in September 2015 and deteriorated over the next few months. She passed away 23/12/15.
In the last few days of her life the staff were genuinely concerned and made sure she was as comfortable as possible. On the
night she died they could not have been more caring and concerned for mum and the family who were there.
It was their personal attentiveness that took us by surprise, they all cared so much knowing this was the end of her life.Their compassion was personal. I really cannot thank you all enough.


My father is in The Potteries also, their care and concern for him during and after mum's death was of the utmost highest level. I would recommend the Potteries Care home to anyone. All the staff are lovely.

Job Title: Home Manager

I began my social care career as a carer and worked my way up. That’s given me a very helpful perspective and understanding of what my team does. Even now, I’m always ready to roll up my sleeves and help if the need arises.


I believe that effective care is personalised care. Our team gets to know each resident well. We know what they enjoy doing, and we help them to continue to experience those things.


It’s also vital to keep up-to-date with developments in care so that we can bring benefits to residents. We recently took delivery of a Tovertafel, or ‘magic table’, which uses the latest technology to enable residents to play simple, fun interactive games, either on their own or with others. The tables have proven benefits: helping people who are living with dementia to develop their communication and cognitive skills and mobility.
