My father has recently become a resident of The Potteries care home and I cannot stress how happy I am with the care he is receiving. The staff are so dedicated and kind and can't do enough for him. The facilities are fantastic and there is always something for him to do everyday to enable his body and his mind to function to its full capacity which also helps him to integrate with other residents. He is a very proud man and likes to do things for himself and this is achieved as much as possible and his dignity remains intact. What could have been an extremely worrying situation for me, has been made less stressful by knowing my dad is in such good hands.

Our relative has been at The Potteries for only a short time but has settled in better than we ever would have thought! The staff are extremely helpful and caring, the food is varied and inviting, the facilities are good and clean and various activities help to pass the time in a pleasant and therapeutic way. We are very glad that we managed to get our relative a room here, as she seems calmer now, with her own space and is looked after with dignity and respect and we can visit her at any time that we are free because she is only 10 minutes away from us. Hopefully, in the summer we'll be able to take her outside for a while as she used to love being out in the garden or walking! Visits to the cafe allow a change of scene and monthly pampering in the visiting hairdresser gives her a sense of the things she used to do regularly. Thank you all for giving us peace of mind, knowing she is well looked after by all your friendly staff.

Thank you so much!

It is a big step for anyone to leave their home and go into a care home but The Potteries seem to really care about making this as easy as possible for the residents. They appear to have an underlying ethos of “you can have whatever you want" which mum has been told several times - I presume that is within reason! The staff seem very kind and caring. It does seem quite a lot of money but excellence needs to be paid for.

My Grandfather moved to The Potteries in November 2017. To begin with, I was apprehensive and worried (given the reputation of care homes in general). But how wrong was I to be worried..... my Grandad is doing so well, he is the happiest and healthiest he has been in a long time and seems to always be smiling!

This is not just a Care Home, it’s far more. The quality of my Grandad's life has improved greatly and I will be forever grateful!

Despite our family referring to The Potteries as the ‘Posh Hotel’, all staff members have been warm and welcoming and when I visit I feel special and cared for too!!

I love all of the activities provided, from trips to the pantomime, the tank museum and visits from Alpacas!!!! I am also encouraged to bring my dog in to see my Grandad which he loves!!!

The Potteries really is a Home away from Home!

Thank you to each and every staff member involved in my Grandad’s care.

My sister recently moved into The Potteries from another nursing home - she had not settled there and was always agitated. Since she has been at The Potteries she has settled in, mixes in the various activities. Now has started to regain her appetite - has a rapport with the staff, in fact, is so much more relaxed (as is the family) Well done everyone at The Potteries

My late mother had stayed at The Potteries for 2 weeks respite care in November 2017. Her stay then was of top quality and she made many friends with all the staff and it was with regret that we could not convince her to stay on a permanent basis. Myself and all of our family that spent many hours with her during this stay were 100% satisfied that she had all the care, comforts and facilities of a very well-run establishment.

Some weeks later, after our mothers decline in health, we returned to The Potteries with her on end of life care with every confidence that she would be totally cared and nursed for. After five weeks of her return, she passed away peacefully with dignity and we now have just good memories of how she had been so well cared for by all the staff at all levels. Many many thanks to a most professional, friendly, personal and truly kind bunch of great people! Thanks again to all!

It's always difficult when the decision comes to place a loved one in a residential care home. The Potteries staff have been excellent in making that process easy for me. From the initial review and continuing care plan, all of the staff have been brilliant in helping my Dad settle in and enjoy himself. The facilities are excellent and there is always an activity for the residents to join in with. Visitors are always welcome at any time. We often take Dad out for a day but he likes to return to his "Posh Hotel"!

In all my dealings with The Potteries, I have felt that the needs of my Dad have been the most important consideration for both sides. This has continued and has enabled the family to be reassured in these times of change when our 94-year-old swaps his home of fifty years, to unaccustomed new surroundings. In these challenging times, the kindness, care and good training of all the staff involved is clear, which having visited other homes, is unfortunately not always so.

We are extremely pleased with the level of care Dad is receiving. He is shown respect by all members of staff and is well looked after in all areas of his life. The staff are very positive and approachable, going the extra mile is not a problem for them. The excellent activities offered are a very important part of the experience and Dad loves to join in. Overall we are pleased to have found The Potteries.

As soon as you walk through the main entrance door you are made welcome. Everyone is very friendly and always helpful. The home is light and airy. There are always things going on for the residents. All staff talk to you and make sure that you are happy with everything. They always keep me well informed about my mum. She is always clean and tidy. I think they all do an amazing job.

My Mother has been at The Potteries, for approximately three months and the care and unique personalised support she receives from the staff and management constantly surprises and impresses me.
My sister and I, are so pleased with every aspect of her care, that we are able to relax knowing she is in safe hands.
It is a pleasure to visit Mum now, as she is no longer anxious, but confident knowing there are staff around if she needs them.

The environment and facilities are so inviting, I especially enjoy the cafe as it feels as if you have been out to a lovely coffee shop.

The staff are so welcoming and friendly, greeting you by name on arrival and letting me know how Mum has been that day. There is a real family environment because you know they really care for your loved one.
The communication is excellent, as is the leadership by the management.

I wholeheartedly recommend The Potteries for their outstanding care and support, not only for your loved one but also for the family.

My father has been in The Potteries now for a month. Whenever we visit, the place is very clean and tidy. Staff are always so so kind and helpful.
Dad seems very happy in his 'hotel' as he calls it. He is joining in the activities, doing things I never thought he would.
I would and have recommended The Potteries to a few people now.

We are so pleased Dad is with you. Thank you.

My father has been a resident at this wonderful care home for the past three and a half years. I have nothing but praise and admiration for the care and attentiveness from all staff, from the manager down to the maintenance staff. I would have no hesitation at all in recommending this brilliant facility to anyone who felt that a family member or friend would benefit from this home. My appreciation goes out to all at the fabulous Potteries.

My husband and sister have been residents at The Potteries for a few months. Their rooms are light and airy, well maintained and their needs met immediately. During this time I have never heard a member of staff raise a voice or speak disrespectfully to any residents. The The Potteries held an Edwardian Garden Party recently. The staff entered into the spirit of the event- dressing up for the occasion and ensuring they could help as many as possible to attend. The catering was excellent. I could see the care, compassion and dedication they gave to their jobs. It was impressive.

Mum was only there for 4 days, but how I wish we had come so much sooner. The atmosphere, the warmth, the friendliness, the care, the concern, the room, all of it - all top top marks. Particularly the friendliness and helpfulness of the carers. Mum was not at all well, but the way that she was cared for, the gentle way they managed her, in all her needs, was heartwarmingly truly inspiring. Even when she died, they were exceptional.
I will remain forever grateful that mum and us, her kids, were welcomed, cared for and treated with such respect.

(unable to rate appropriately Activities, as not taken part in - although from what I saw, they looked "good", ie interesting, entertaining).

I began my social care career as a carer and worked my way up. That’s given me a very helpful perspective and understanding of what my team does. Even now, I’m always ready to roll up my sleeves and help if the need arises.

I believe that effective care is personalised care. Our team gets to know each resident well. We know what they enjoy doing, and we help them to continue to experience those things.

It’s also vital to keep up-to-date with developments in care so that we can bring benefits to residents. We recently took delivery of a Tovertafel, or ‘magic table’, which uses the latest technology to enable residents to play simple, fun interactive games, either on their own or with others. The tables have proven benefits: helping people who are living with dementia to develop their communication and cognitive skills and mobility.
