Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
Our son appears settled and content at Moore House. He feels able to express his anxieties to staff, this is encouraged and acted upon by his support team and managers. He has regular opportunities to access the wider community and there is good planning and preparation around this.
Our son benefits
from developing close relationships with staff. Staff shortages and changes over the review period (including the departure of the house manager) have caused difficulties but these now appear to have been addressed. There are now larger numbers of staff members who understand how our son can best be supported.

Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
Moore House has been brilliant with my son and learning how he behaves and how to behave in return. My son has unique ways of interacting and when anxious relies on correct responses to aid in easing these anxieties. Amazing patience and understanding with residents and all the differences between residents.
The home is clean and tidy and well kept. Residents regularly have social visits out of the home to suit their needs and abilities and likes.
Staff are friendly and accommodating.
Communication between the home and myself has been the only niggle I've had, but this was addressed and dealt with immediately.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
I'm thrilled with how well my son has settled in to Moore House. I'm impressed with how the staff have taken on board suggestions from his school and from me. Knowing him is so important to understanding him and being able to support him. The staff have done a fantastic job of getting to grips with
his sensory motor exercise program. This is a key method to helping him regulate his body and behaviour. His carers have introduced him to lots of new experiences, such as rock climbing and animation art. He is really blossoming!
I sometimes feel that there are loads of different staff members, and I hope they can all get to know him well enough. I realise that Moore is a brand new home, so I'm sure this will settle down. I feel confident that I can always talk to the manager and team leaders who do seem to understand his needs well.

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.9 (8.917) out of 10 for Cascade (Moore House) is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 3 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.3 out of 5 from 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.667 for Cascade (Moore House) is calculated as follows: ( (22 Excellents x 5) + (11 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 33 Ratings = 4.667
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.25 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Cascade (Moore House) is based on 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.25
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 6 registered maximum number of service users is 1.2, which has been reached with 3 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
