Bishops Manor Care Home in Sutton Coldfield is an exceptional place. The staff go beyond expectations, showing immense compassion and patience in their care, especially towards my friend who has Alzheimer's.

They handle the unique challenges with such grace and understanding. The facilities are

modern providing a comfortable, safe, and stimulating environment. At least twice a day theres a variety of stimulating entertainment from a sing along to flower arranging, dancing to bingo! The food is cooked onsite offering a good choice and meeting dietary requirements. It's clear that the well-being of each resident is their priority.

Knowing my friend is in such capable and caring hands brings peace of mind to me and her daughter. I highly recommend Bishops Manor to anyone seeking outstanding care for their loved ones.

My mom, who has Alzheimer's, has been a resident since November 2024. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that this facility is exceptional. The staff treats each resident as a unique individual, creating personalized care plans that maintain their dignity and identity.
What truly stands out is
the staff's dedication; they go the extra mile to organize engaging events like VE Day celebrations and birthday parties, fostering joy and connection among residents. The atmosphere is happy and content, making it feel like home.
I appreciate how inclusive Bishops Manor is, welcoming families to visit anytime and encouraging our involvement. This openness fosters strong bonds, making us feel part of the Bishops Manor family. I cannot recommend Bishops Manor Care Home highly enough for providing my mom with a loving and supportive environment where she feels safe and cherished. Thank you for your unwavering commitment to excellence in care.

I know my choice of Bishops Manor Care Home was definitely the right one. As well as being a lovely home and garden the staff are kind and caring particularly for dementia patients like my husband. They always have time for him and at all times work to reassure him and assist him in the best way they
can. There is always something going on and the residents are encouraged to participate thus improving their quality of life. Bishops Manor is a very special Care Home and I am so glad my husband lives there.

Mom had been living with dementia for a few years but the sudden death of our dear dad just added a lot more complications.
Mom felt she wasn't ready for a home but day to day living became more difficult for her on a daily basis .
Sadly events took a turn for the worse and mom ended up in hospital
. However ,one member of staff, in particular, and her marvellous team managed to find her a place
at Bishops manor .
Since that day mom has come on leaps and bounds .I would say she is now living her best life !
She has put on weight ,she is joining in activities, dancing ,singing and has even made new friends .
The care the whole team has given ti my mom is exemplary.
I cannot recommend them enough -you can always be assured they will endeavour to do their best !
The environment is beautiful and welcoming and ALL the staff go out of their way to make it a happy and also stimulating experience for everyone .
I could bang on all day ,but most importantly here - mom is HAPPY

Following my search for a comfortable caring home for my aunty to reside in i came across Bishops Manor. The good feeling I was searching for was instant upon first visit. My aunty is very happy and the staff at all levels of employment ,are to thank for that. As visitors we are always welcomed whenever
we arrive, and are often invited to the many fabulous activities that keep all the residents entertained. To walk in unannounced and see her waving her hands and singing along with her fellow residents gives a "Peace of Mind"comfort.Thank you staff at Bishops Manor for all you do to make my aunties latter years so happy x

We decided to move my Mum to Bishop's Manor from another care home after hearing excellent feedback from friends. She is one of the youngest residents and my concern has always been that she continues to have a fulfilling, engaging and enjoyable quality of life with her Alzheimer's. We haven't looked
back and are so pleased Bishops Manor is now her home. She is continuously engaged by staff and takes part in a packed calendar of diverse activities that mean she can never get bored. I feel I never have to worry about whether she is receiving the best care as the staff are on top of every aspect of it.
The home is vibrant, friendly and a refreshing and enjoyable place to visit as a family. It is kept absolutely spotless and continuously decorated for special or memorable occasions that we are always welcomed to. You always feel like you are walking into somewhere special, where people really care.

Mum has been at Bishops Manor for almost two and a half years. On the 15th of March she celebrated her 100th birthday. The staff at the home made it a weekend to remember. The planning, organisation and enthusiasm was just fantastic. The decorations, cake, food and the entertainment at the parties
were wonderful. Everyone at the home was involved in one way or another and Mum thoroughly enjoyed herself. Friends and family who visited Bishops Manor on the Saturday also loved the friendly and welcoming environment of the home. My grateful thanks and appreciation go to all the staff who made it such a memorable occasion. Thank you

My husband had heart failure and I was caring for him at home. When I was suddenly taken into hospital my relatives had to find immediate care for him. A friend recommended Bishops Manor and they accepted him straight away, even though I was in hospital and could not attend to the finances. The
care was excellent and he soon got to know the dedicated team of carers. When I was able to visit to sort things out it was wonderful to find a caring attitude towards me as well. He was only there for a few weeks but could not have ended his days in a finer place. Thank you

My Mom was discharged from hospital after a fall and was not well enough or capable to go home.

It was a very distressing time for the whole family.

The team at Bishop's Manor have been superb, from my first phone call with a member of staff we were reassured and we could "breathe again".

Upon

arrival my Mom could not stand, she had a mouth full of ulcers and was exhausted.

After 4 weeks of love, exceptional care, excellent food and entertainment my Mom was able to walk to the car and return home.

There are no words to adequately convey our gratitude; thank you just isn't enough.

Thank you to the whole team; you are very special people whose help and professionalism will not be forgotten.

When the time came for my father to move to a residential care home, we looked at several in the local area. Bishops Manor stood out for several reasons. On our first visit, we got the clear impression of a professionally run, vibrant, happy and active home with excellent individual resident centered
care. We decided on the spot that this place was an ideal fit for Dad. He has now been at Bishops Manor for just over a month and our initial impression of the home has been confirmed and enhanced. The dedicated nursing and care team have helped him integrate well into the daily routine of the home. Moving from living independently to a care home could be difficult, but the staff have helped Dad cope with this change with huge kindness and consideration - we can't praise them enough. They were quickly on first name terms with my father and the team have demonstrated that Bishops Manor has a deep-seated care ethic that extends to everyone in the home. It really is a caring home.
Reply from Jody Sedgwick, Home Manager at Bishops ManorThank you so much for your kind and thoughtful review. A big "thank you" to all the team for an amazing birthday celebration with Mom and her friends. Your combined teamwork, care and attention to detail made it a very special day. My mom loved the day and feedback from those who were there thought it was amazing.
I realise that there was a lot of extra
effort from many behind the scenes and some that pulled out all the stops to help out, such as the receptionist, the chef and another member of staff, so thank you and everyone else for making it a wonderful day. Please pass this on to anyone involved in helping make the day special.

My mum has resided at Bishops Manor for a number of years now and I cannot praise the staff enough for the amazing care they provide on every level of service use. My mum has complex medical needs which require regular medication, monitoring and appropriate intervention and nothing is ever left unnoticed
or observed. Staff always communicate any changes immediately to me and will also speak to the GP or other healthcare professionals if they need to. Nurses and carers are knowledgeable, caring and compassionate and treat Mum with dignity and respect. The home feels like a family, it is incredibly nurturing and mindful of residents' needs and also those of relatives, like myself. There is low staff turnover which, for me, speaks volumes and helps my mum to feel safe; she always knows her carers well and they, in turn, understand her needs. I have complete peace of mind that my mum is safe and well cared for when I leave, for which I am forever grateful.

Bishops Manor was so much more than a care home, it became the family's second home. My mum resided in this home for five years. The whole team went above and beyond to care for Mum. The team was very knowledgeable and understood dementia and her needs extremely well. Mum was always treated with respect,
dignity and love. It was a very hard decision to put Mum in a care home. I looked at several homes and Bishops Manor stood out above the rest with its very calm and bright environment, the staff's positive attitude to everyone. I am so glad I made the right choice. The staff made this emotional journey a lot more positive for us, as a family. The team knew Mum so well that they managed to keep Mum in the surroundings she was familiar with until she passed away. The family felt the home was fantastic and would recommend any family with a loved one with dementia to reside at Bishops Manor.

My husband put his heart and soul into caring for his mother for the last 3 years and managed to keep her in her own home as long as possible. When the time came that she needed to move into residential care, the family spent a great deal of effort evaluating the options in the area. Bishops Manor stood
out immediately, for its calm, quiet and caring environment. Ever since his mother moved in, we have been beyond thrilled with our choice. She is sleeping better, is happier in herself, and enjoys taking part in the activities. The personal care and attention she receives is flawless, the team manage her dementia and falls risks better than we could have dreamed, and her mobility has improved while she has been there. I am so grateful that my husband can now focus his time and energy being a loving son, and spending time visiting his mom in a calm and positive atmosphere.

My father spent the last 5 months of his life at Bishops Manor. It was a difficult time for both him and the family but we found nothing but compassion and kindness from all the staff.
The whole family were always made to feel welcome and included. My elderly mother visited daily and the care and
kindness shown to her as she sat with my father was outstanding and made a difficult time more bearable for her.
My father was always treated with dignity and respect especially at the end when he was no longer able to express his needs.
A big thank you to all the staff

My mum had been in hospital for 6 weeks and we thought she was getting to the stage of having nursing care. Having had a poor experience in a previous care home, we were very nervous about choosing a new one.
Bishops Manor were very reassuring that ours and our mum's experience could be different under
their expert care and knowledge about dementia. It has been the best decision and outcome. Mum no longer chooses to be in bed, she can walk with a frame and joins in with activities with other residents. She seems much more content in the environment Bishops Manor provides. The staff treat her like family and are always super helpful and ready with advice about Mum. It has restored our faith in how care can be given to the elderly particularly with dementia.

Huge thanks to the whole team!

Our mum was very happy at Bishops Manor. My favourite times were having Sunday lunch with Mum in the bistro, a lovely setting overlooking the gardens. She joined in most of the activities, especially the dancing in the cinema room. Sadly, Mum passed away recently and we (the family) will miss visiting
her. We would like to say a big thank you to all the loving/caring staff at Bishops Manor for making our mum's stay a happy one. I will be popping in to say hello sometime soon.

(1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 65 registered maximum number of service users is 13, which has been reached with 41 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Thomas Bampfield

Job Title: Home Manager

Working at Bishop’s Manor is a privilege, and I’m incredibly proud to be part of our award-winning team.

Our beautiful home benefits from a strong, experienced management team whose vision, creativity, and commitment enhance the quality of care we provide. Together, we live by the belief that "teamwork makes the dream work," and this shines through in everything that we do.

I am also extremely grateful for the phenomenal nurses who lead each floor with passion and a genuine love for their work. My fantastic care team bring an all-hands-on-deck approach, demonstrating unmatched love, dedication and enthusiasm that amazes me every single day. Their commitment creates an incredible culture that not only enriches the lives of our residents but also brings in referrals and recommendations from the community and the families who trust us.

As someone who has been nominated for awards in our field, I am committed to holistic care that nurtures the whole person. This means taking time to truly listen to residents, understanding their experiences, and responding with compassion and empathy, qualities I believe are at the heart of meaningful care. It’s these moments that make a real difference in a resident’s day.

I am proud to be a nurse and to work at Bishop’s Manor, where every day offers the chance to positively impact the lives of my team, our residents and their families.
