The whole team have been so supportive that after less than three months, my brother calls Bishops Manor his home. It has given us peace of mind knowing he is happy and feels safe. No effort is too much, whether it is finding ways for him to participate in activities or the chef doing his best to satisfy a food craving. The whole team are always welcoming, patient and approachable. I truly feel they put my brother's best interest at the heart of everything they do for him and for that I am grateful.

Our mom has recently moved into Bishops Manor and we are all very happy with the way she is being looked after and is settling in. After this short time my mom is already looking more like her old self, dressing lovely every day and moving around the home to chat with new friends and the wonderful staff. I can't praise all the staff highly enough for taking the time to get to know Mom as well as looking after her. As a family it is a pleasure to go and visit Mom as we are made to feel at home. The bistro area is lovely as we can sit with Mom and help ourselves to refreshments and yummy homemade cakes. Mom loves to see us fed and watered. Then we enjoy sitting in the garden with the grandchildren. We also enjoy sitting with Mom watching the live entertainment and seeing the smiles on people's faces.

Our experience with Bishops Manor was second to none. The care that was provided for our uncle in the last 9 months of his life was excellent. Staff were so friendly, kind, and considerate towards him throughout his stay. All staff were always there for us, answering any questions we had and sorting any of the needs of our uncle.

They treated him with great dignity and respect that he deserved. We have no hesitation in recommending the care home to others.

Bishops Manor is the most exceptional home I have ever had the pleasure of visiting. My father-in-law spent six months from December 2023 there suffering from both vascular dementia and Alzheimer's. During his stay there, his health and mental capacity improved enormously. He became better at walking and communicating and was always happy. The staff at this care home are all exceptional, from reception to the carers and nursing staff. They made my father-in-law feel loved, protected, safe and were always ready for a joke and a laugh.
I think the daily programme of activities helps enormously with those suffering from dementia and what is also wonderful is the fact that much of the entertainment in the bistro is attended by all residents so you have those who have the mental capacity to engage with those who are less able to, so have a fabulous balance.

This home should be the benchmark that other homes strive to achieve in terms of the staff appointed.

My mother and father have been living at Bishops Manor since October 2023, and during these first six months, the overall care they have received has been of the highest standard. The staff have a wonderful and caring attitude (they are an asset to the home) being extremely thoughtful, particularly as they have got to know my parents over time. The staff also communicate with the family (and my mum and dad) in a professional manner. We are also pleased with the significant improvement in my mother's mobility and well-being since moving in.
My father enjoys a full English breakfast every morning and my mother takes pride in her appearance and dresses for dinner each evening.

We are pleasantly surprised how my parents have joined in with the daily activities which we originally thought they would resist. These provide both stimulation and variety which, when they were at home, they would not otherwise have had. As a result, this has been an asset to their general well-being.

My father has been living at Bishop's Manor since September 2023 and has received outstanding care from all of the team.
Unfortunately, Dad has become bed-bound in the last couple of months but the care that he receives is second to none. He is treated with kindness and dignity and we, as a family, are listened to and treated so kindly.
Nothing is ever any trouble and I cannot recommend Bishop's Manor highly enough.

Thank you to everyone - from the lovely, smiley ladies at reception, to the wonderful staff who care so diligently for Dad, to the staff who prepare the meals, to the managers who keep in touch. You are an amazing team and we thank you so much for making Dad so comfortable. You are all fantastic!

Mum has Alzheimer’s and has been living at Bishops Manor for 3 years. This care home is amazing! All staff and carers are so friendly, welcoming and caring. They really do go above and beyond and we are so grateful for all they do to keep Mum safe, clean and happy. There are plenty of activities each day to keep the residents entertained. Even though Mum can’t get involved in as much as she could 3 years ago, the carers still involve her in activities which are suitable like baking, sensory, music, arts and craft. I would highly recommend Bishops Manor.

Bishop's Manor is a very special care home. Mum has lived there for nearly two years and this year we spent the whole of Christmas day there with her. It was fantastic. We missed Father Christmas but arrived to a lively carol concert attended by enthusiastic residents, relatives and care staff. The lunch [and tea] was lovely and the care staff couldn't have done more to make us feel welcome and at home. They made it a very special day for all of us.
The point is that this isn't unusual, they always do their very best to support and care for the residents and their family and friends. The carers are the same ones who were there when Mum arrived and have built up a strong loving relationship with her and with us. It's one big family and Mum is so happy there.

A wonderful home with amazing people. Thank you all.

Mum has dementia and has been in Bishops Manor Care Home for three weeks now; after spending nine weeks in hospital with a fractured hip, followed by three heart attacks, you can only imagine the trauma she went through. Bishops Manor has been an absolute blessing. The smiles on her face say it all.
She has settled in well. The staff are really lovely. Always friendly and polite.
Lots to keep the residents occupied during the day and evenings suited to their abilities.
The facilities are excellent.
Very clean.

Well looked after. Any concerns are dealt with and they are willing to listen and adjust for the care of the resident.

I visited the home today with my friend who was visiting his uncle. My friend had told me how good the home is but I was surprised at the welcome we received. The lady on reception was friendly and welcoming to us both. A large group of residents were gathered in reception where a lady was holding a seated activity. The residents looked happy, well-presented and well cared for. The wider home was clean and felt very fresh. All staff were friendly and we were offered drinks by more than one. My friend's uncle told me he is very happy in the home and especially enjoyed the food.

I cannot express enough how caring, thoughtful, professional, and amazing the team at Bishops Manor Care Home is. During these difficult times, they have been an invaluable support system not just for my dad but for our entire family. Their dedication and willingness to go above and beyond their responsibilities have truly made a difference.

The quality of food served at Bishops Manor is remarkable. As someone who has had the opportunity to taste the food, I can honestly say that it surpasses expectations. The catering team provides high-quality meals that cater to various dietary needs.

However, what truly sets Bishops Manor apart is the exceptional level of care and support provided by the staff. They have been an unwavering pillar of strength during some of the most challenging moments for my family. The team's genuine compassion, empathy, and professionalism have left a lasting impression on all of us.

Overall Experience

When my parents moved to this home 4 years ago there was reluctance from both of them. I had researched other care homes and Bishop's Manor really stood out, straight away. It immediately felt welcoming; more like a hotel than a nursing home. My dad had dementia and was 'going downhill' rapidly at home. Mum did her best but it became impossible for her to get any proper rest with Dad's condition. It took a while but Dad thrived with all the tender loving care that surrounded him and Mum was able to have some time to herself knowing he was well cared for. When the weather allowed, the garden was a great comfort to my mother. Dad passed away 3 years ago, surrounded by carers he knew (during Covid) and Mum was able to establish a new routine for herself. The facilities at Bishops' Manor are excellent and visitors (post-Covid) are always welcomed. It is never an easy decision to leave a family home but the staff here do everything they can to help everyone feel 'at home'. Thank you all.

Our mother has been at Bishop Manor, formerly Gracewell, since 2019 and has been extremely well cared for and looked after.

All the staff are a credit to CARE UK. Our mother has never been an easy individual and has strong opinions, but all the staff have handled it with care and diplomacy.

A special shout for the staff who went above and beyond recently for her with a particular set of circumstances, the family cannot thank her enough.

Would highly recommend Bishops Manor.

I moved into Bishops Manor in March 2023. I am a younger person living with a complex medical condition. I tried two other homes in Sutton Coldfield but never settled as my needs were not met. The team and management have taken the time to get to know me and I feel safe with the team at Bishops Manor. They take time with me and I never feel rushed. I enjoy some of the fitness sessions and the singers, the activities programme is varied and I can pick and choose what I would like to do. The facilities are light and airy and modern and I enjoy my weekly hairdressing session. I am so happy that I chose Bishops Manor and I love my room that I have been able to personalise with my own belongings. I would happily recommend this place to other families as my care has been amazing.

My friend and I had the pleasure of visiting Bishops Manor on a few occasions, some planned others were not, but never mattered because we were always welcomed by warm, friendly staff. There is a such a vibrant feel to the home, always something happening, like a singer pretending to be Tom Jones or a quiz. The home is always spotlessly clean and the food is to die for! Having had the experience of another care home, and not a very good one, this is light and day. It is just like home from home.

My friend was looking to move from an awful situation and we were taken under Bishops Manor wing and I cannot praise certain staff highly enough. Really took us to her heart and tried her best to accommodate. Unfortunately there wasn’t an availability at the time and my friend was referred to another home in the same care group. But all this was sorted out by staff at Bishops Manor. Cannot recommend them highly enough. Thank you Thank you Thank you

Dad has been a resident of Bishops Manor since early 2022 and more recently my Mother stayed for a spell of respite. Throughout that time I have always been reassured by how caring and thorough the staff have been. Nothing is too much trouble for them, and contact is always encouraged to ensure that the best care is being given. These days the cost of care is always a concern for everyone but when worked out, the value given at Bishops Manor is second to none. Who doesn’t want their loved ones to be safe, well cared for, nourished both physically and mentally, in the most comfortable surroundings possible? I am so happy that my Dad is in the best place possible for him, and am reassured that staff not only care for him but for the rest of our family too.

My mum and dad moved into Bishops Manor in October 2021. My dad was a resident here for 18 months. During that time he was extremely well cared for and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. He enjoyed attending the activities, particularly the quizzes and the weekly visiting entertainers. He liked chatting with other residents in the dining room and all food requests were accommodated. My dad was happy here and had a good quality of life. My mum continues to live at Bishops Manor and is given the opportunity to take part in many stimulating and rewarding activities. She loves walking around the garden and gets on well with all of the staff. Thank you to everyone who helps to make Bishops Manor such a friendly, caring and lovely environment.

Thomas Bampfield Job Title: Home Manager

Working at Bishop’s Manor is a privilege, and I’m incredibly proud to be part of our award-winning team.

Our beautiful home benefits from a strong, experienced management team whose vision, creativity, and commitment enhance the quality of care we provide. Together, we live by the belief that "teamwork makes the dream work," and this shines through in everything that we do.

I am also extremely grateful for the phenomenal nurses who lead each floor with passion and a genuine love for their work. My fantastic care team bring an all-hands-on-deck approach, demonstrating unmatched love, dedication and enthusiasm that amazes me every single day. Their commitment creates an incredible culture that not only enriches the lives of our residents but also brings in referrals and recommendations from the community and the families who trust us.

As someone who has been nominated for awards in our field, I am committed to holistic care that nurtures the whole person. This means taking time to truly listen to residents, understanding their experiences, and responding with compassion and empathy, qualities I believe are at the heart of meaningful care. It’s these moments that make a real difference in a resident’s day.

I am proud to be a nurse and to work at Bishop’s Manor, where every day offers the chance to positively impact the lives of my team, our residents and their families.
