Thank you for taking the time to write a review, and we are disappointed that this was your experience. What you describe falls far short of the empathetic, caring relationships we seek to build with each of our residents and their loved ones at Reigate Grange.
We work constructively with any resident, relative, or loved one who raises a concern about the care they receive, doing so immediately to address the nature of the issue as soon as it is brought to our attention. Referring to the experience of your partner’s mother, our team at Reigate Grange and senior colleagues at Signature worked closely with her family throughout her time at Reigate Grange.
Under our comprehensive dementia strategy, all members of our care homes undergo compulsory dementia training that provides them the skills and knowledge they need to fully support our dementia residents. The training programme is specifically tailored to each colleagues’ individual roles within our home.
Before working in a Signature Senior Lifestyle home, care teams also undergo thorough pre-employment checks along with Signature’s mandatory training programme. This covers a broad range of modules, and includes:
- Moving and handling residents (theory and practical)
- Safeguarding
- Privacy and dignity
- Dementia awareness
- Food safety
- Health and safety awareness
- Respect in the workplace
- COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health)
- Fluids and Nutrition
- Medication Awareness
- Mental Health Awareness
We operate a zero-tolerance policy on the behaviour identified in the media report you refer to, and as a care provider we took all possible steps to ensure we acted very quickly to deal with this. I wish to make clear that these rogue individuals, who had passed pre-employment checks, left the care home as soon as we were informed of their conduct. They exhibited extremely isolated behaviour by not demonstrating the high quality of care our team delivers to all of its communities each and every day.
Supported by our comprehensive safeguarding policy, residents, their relatives and our team members, are protected by:
- CCTV being deployed in our homes’ communal areas, which is monitored and used as part of disciplinary procedures when poor practice is identified.
- Signature deploys its own covert cameras to secretly monitor staff behaviour when there are concerns about practice, or when residents have unexpected or unexplained injuries. This footage is then reviewed, and appropriate action is taken. Deployment of the covert camera is carried out once permission has been obtained by the family in question
- All of our homes are subject to independent, CQC-style inspections by a contracted quality assurance company.
Led by our head chef, our catering team prides itself on delivering seasonal menus, developed using the highest quality food and locally sourced produce, designed to support residents’ specific nutritional needs. As part of our commitment to working in partnership with our residents and their relatives, we encourage feedback and do take onboard your comments surrounding your experience.
Finally, we strongly encourage residents, relatives and loved ones to present any feedback on the care provided by the Reigate Grange team in writing, by phone or in person. We also offer the option to contact senior team members, outside of the home, who can provide additional support if it is required, as well as having a comprehensive complaints process that includes independent auditing.
At all times we strive to provide the very best service and we apologise that this was not your experience on this occasion. Thank you once again for taking the time to leave a review.
Thank you for your review.

Thank you for taking the time to post your review. Throughout our extensive correspondence and attempts to provide you a resolution, we have made it very clear that the standard of care you set out falls far short of the empathetic, caring relationships we seek to build with each of our residents and their loved ones. We are deeply sorry that this was your experience.
I am also keen to emphasise that when the footage and allegations were shared with us, the management team acted swiftly and decisively. All rogue individuals identified as carrying out poor care in the footage were immediately referred to the Police and Safeguarding for investigation, and to reassure you, the individuals left the organisation as soon as the footage was shared with us.
In the week we were presented with the footage, we deployed an undercover Supervisor to assess the performance of the wider team. This ‘undercover’ team member worked in the home for several weeks and found no safeguarding concerns.
Furthermore, we immediately hired an external dementia care consultant to complete a full audit of Reigate Grange. They entered the service within the same week that the footage was shared with us, and their review found there were no systemic safeguarding issues.
We also have a comprehensive safeguarding policy which includes:
- CCTV being deployed in our homes’ communal areas, which is monitored and used as part of disciplinary procedures when poor practice is identified.
- Signature deploys its own covert cameras to secretly monitor staff behaviour when there are concerns about practice, or when residents have unexpected or unexplained injuries. - All of our homes are subject to independent, CQC-style inspections by a contracted quality assurance company.
At all times we strive to provide the very best service and we again apologise that this was not your experience on this occasion.

I was privileged to join Reigate Grange in March 2023 to support the team as Care Services Manager. I was delighted to move into the role of Interim General Manager in June, and then to be confirmed as the General Manager later that year. I’m a qualified Registered Nurse, a dynamic individual with excellent nursing and leadership skills. I have a track record of delivering clinical excellence in a professional manner through direct nursing care. I have deputised for more than 10 years and also worked as Acting Manager. I’m a qualified TTT (Train The Trainer) and also have experience in commissioning new homes. At Reigate Grange, there is a genuine team spirit of cooperation and a passion to deliver the highest quality care. As General Manager, I strive to support this ethos and make our home truly exceptional.
I first joined Signature in October 2020 as a Care Supervisor in the dementia care community. I was then promoted to the role of Dementia Care Manager. If there is one thing that I've learned in my years of working with people living with dementia it is: the happiest and most fulfilled people are those who devote themselves to something bigger and more unique. There's nothing more rewarding than helping the most vulnerable people to continue to live their lives with dignity and respect.
I have over 25 years of clinical experience in acute and nursing home settings, holding qualifications in General, Medical, Surgical, Paediatric, Psychiatric, Obstetric and Community Nursing. I’ve earned a State Award of Merit in Medical and Surgical Nursing and completed post-graduation in Gerontological Nursing and end-of-life care in Ireland. Passionate about elderly care, I’ve worked in India, Malaysia, Ireland and the UK, specialising in Acute Stroke units. My goal is to provide dignified care to elderly residents, ensuring peace of mind for residents' loved ones. Progressing into management, I now mentor and empower large teams. I feel privileged to work for Signature where the values of the organisation align with my own.
I absolutely love my role as Client Liaison Manager – welcoming families into our beautiful home and helping new residents settle into life at Reigate Grange is incredibly rewarding.
My background has always been rooted in customer service, giving me a wealth of experience to draw from. Prior to joining Signature, I worked closely with families needing support with mobility equipment. When the opportunity arose to move into the care sector, it felt like a natural next step – one that allowed me to follow my passion for making a meaningful difference in people’s lives.
No two days are ever the same, and it’s a genuine pleasure to work alongside such a fantastic team of colleagues and residents. I’m proud of the outstanding care we deliver here at Reigate Grange and it’s a privilege to be part of a community where residents truly thrive in a beautifully kept home.
I joined as Wellbeing and Lifestyle Manager in June 2018 as part of the commissioning management team at Reigate Grange and completely new to the care industry. I come from a background within the entertainment industry, an industry I was fortunate to work in for over a decade, working both in hotels and aboard cruise ships as a singer and dancer within the Production Team and Manager of the team. My background has given me a wonderful insight into fantastic customer service and organising and delivering the activities and events within the home has been extremely rewarding on a daily basis. Since being with Signature I have also been fortunate enough to have completed my Hospitality Manager certificate, specialising in Conference and Events Management. I honestly thought leaving the entertainment industry that I would never find a job I enjoyed as much, yet my time here at Reigate Grange has been amazing and extremely fulfilling.
I was welcomed to Signature at Reigate Grange in August 2023. I have worked in care for roughly 10 years in another Signature care home. I have worked in both the Care and Activities Departments. Activities are my passion as I enjoy being able to spend time with residents and listening to their life stories. If I am able to make our residents happy and smile, I feel I have successfully fulfilled my job.
I started at a previous Signature home as a Maintenance Assistant, progressing to be Manager and moved to Reigate Grange in 2023. Prior to coming into the care industry, I enjoyed renovating houses and did a lot of travelling for work. I thoroughly enjoy working here at Reigate and strive to keep the home and grounds to an excellent standard for our residents.
