As the 6 month's mark since moving in is nigh, a review seems timely and apt. We have been most impressed and pleased with the level of care, it's sensitivity, their patience, attention to details and responsiveness and this goes across the board of all those we have cause to interact with - Nurses,
carers, cleaners, maintenance and management (sorry to the chef's and restaurant team, but we have not eaten there ourselves). The only negative remains that old, vexed and perennial issue - meals. We know 'it's difficult to please all of the people all of the time', but Car parking - not even going to go there!
Reply from Sarah-Jane Carpenter, General Manager at Signature at Reigate GrangeThank you for taking the time to review us, here at Reigate Grange. It's great to learn how impressed you are with the care we provide. I must agree with you that it can be a challenge in pleasing everyone, however here at Reigate Grange we recognise just how important the dining experience is and that's why we hold weekly forums where we gather feedback and suggestions for our menus, so they really do have the Residents seal of approval. Parking can be tricky but with 42 spaces, we get by.

We are very lucky to be here where we are looked after so well. All the staff are so caring which makes for a very happy atmosphere. My friends say it's like a five-star hotel, but not so formal. I would recommend a visit.

My husband and I moved into Signature Grange 16 months ago. My husband had a stoke sad to say 6 months ago he died so sad. I am lucky to be here. Such kindness from the management and staff and the residents. It truly is "home from home".

My mother came to the Grange in July 2019, since being here she has had the most amazing care. The staff are so helpful and I can't thank the carers enough for all they do. Always so positive, happy and kind. The food is very good and mum's room/bathroom is kept clean and tidy. I wouldn't hesitate to
recommend Reigate Grange to any friends.

This is how care homes should be. The Grange is superbly run by charming, caring people.
My mum has found the nursing care very beneficial, the food and regular medication has had a very good effect on her health.
It is a large establishment which has a good community atmosphere. Thank you so much.

The level of care and attention to detail at the Grange is absolutely outstanding. Everyone is so caring and friendly and my mother is as happy as she has been for years. Both my father and I have complete peace of mind and mum could not be in a better place.

This is the best care home we have seen. The facilities are first class and the staff are happy and caring. The feel at Reigate Grange is more like a luxury hotel than a care home and all the staff are friendly and made my parents feel at home. The restaurant is very good and serves a high standard
menu. The activities are many and varied and all the residents seem very content.

Poor leadership and weak management. This affected staff morale and consequently care. Many carers had no real depth of understanding dementia. A lovely physical environment with lots going on but sadly lacking in skilled carers and good leadership. Most staff warm and friendly and some exceptionally
good at their job. Others not so. Quite a quick staff turnover with great staff moving on and sadly a reliance on agency staff.
Reply from Sarah-Jane Carpenter, General Manager at Signature at Reigate GrangeThank you for taking the time to give feedback on your experience of Reigate Grange from ten months ago and for highlighting areas you found to be in need of focus. I was a convalescent resident here for approximately four months from June to November 2019, arriving straight from hospital after a serious fall. The care and kindness I experienced here was largely instrumental in my steady and speedy recovery. Everyone I came into contact with was patient, friendly
and encouraging and many became more like friends. The management team took a very professional interest in my progress.

I am very happy to recommend the Grange where my mother stayed for 6 weeks. She was very happy there. Her medical needs were well managed and we can't speak highly enough of the staff who were unfailingly helpful, cheerful and friendly (and that's everyone from reception to housekeeping to nurses to
carers and other staff). They welcomed her in a genuine and warm manner and really enhanced her stay by their positivity and consideration. For us, the family, it was wonderful knowing that our mother was being well cared for. But it was the emotional and social benefits of staying at the Grange that took us by surprise. Our mother really benefited from the sense of community at the Grange and the opportunity to engage with so many people on a daily basis and to dip into some of the many activities on offer.
Reply from Sarah-Jane Carpenter, General Manager at Signature at Reigate GrangeThank you so much for taking the time to review us. From the outset, initial viewing to moving in, all the staff couldn't have been more welcoming in continuation. The staff take the time to know each resident and have been very supportive of my farther, taking their time. On visiting one day this week, to see my farther dancing and getting everyone
else up, with a huge smile across his face was priceless!

My first visit before my wife, who suffers from dementia, became a resident blew away my senses - it was an 'Alice in Wonderland' experience. The practical features of the building and gardens are extremely clever, but all that would be meaningless without the wonderful staff. They are a revelation
in kindness and empathy, patience and understanding of human frailties.

I cannot speak highly enough, the environment and care are amazing and compared to the previous home which was like "Gods waiting room" this is so refreshing. It feels like a home to live life and enjoy, the staff and residents seem happy and smiley most of the time (we all have off days) and there
is no nursing home smell or feel as you walk in. If I had to choose a home myself this would be the one I would like.

My mother recently stayed at The Grange and I have nothing but positive feedback for the whole experience. She was well cared for, day and night, and I was impressed with how the staff always had time to stop and have a chat or joke with her. The facilities are first rate with comfortable seating areas
throughout the home - inside and out - creating a sense of community and encouraging mixing within the residents.
The restaurant food was first class with light and more hearty options together with friendly and helpful staff. Our entire family from ages 10 to 50 plus 2 dogs were always warmly welcomed by the reception and care staff.

We celebrated my Granny's 96th birthday here at Reigate Grange. We were able to take over the bar/restaurant area for a private family get together and meal - (there were 18 of us!)
They put on an amazing meal and we were able to use the area all afternoon with no pressure on time.
The carers were
on call if we needed them to assist Granny, the meal and service was wonderful! - it was so lovely to be able to celebrate all together as Granny is now not able to go anywhere without easy disabled access.
We have been delighted with the care Granny receives, the carers are wonderful and Granny is happy, therefore so are we!
Reply from Sarah-Jane Carpenter, General Manager at Signature at Reigate GrangeThank you so much for taking the time to review us and especially the fabulous birthday party! It is very important to us that families feel able to come to us and celebrate in style! It was always my dream that Reigate Grange would excel at times like this and it sounds as if we did just that!
I will take great pleasure in sharing your feedback with my team.

This was our first experience of selecting a care home for an elderly relative. Thankfully the client liaison manager from Reigate Grange really understood and empathised with the difficulty of supporting a relative to make that initial move into a care home. We have been so very pleased with the standard
of care provided.
The building is lovely but most of all the staff and managers do show genuine care, interest and professionalism looking after the residents. They put a lot of thought into the activities for residents. All the staff have a positive and friendly attitude. Some of the admin processes can be inconsistent and not as user-friendly as you would expect. However, that does not detract from the confidence they give us that our relative is genuinely well cared for. We have seen a real imporvement in my aunt, who is now back to her old happy self.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.832)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.832) out of 10 for Signature at Reigate Grange is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 38 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 38 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.832 for Signature at Reigate Grange is calculated as follows: ( (390 Excellents x 5) + (54 Goods x 4) + (5 Satisfactorys x 3) + (4 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 453 Ratings = 4.832
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Signature at Reigate Grange is based on 38 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 95 registered maximum number of service users is 19, which has been reached with 38 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

I started at a previous Signature home as a Maintenance Assistant, progressing to be Manager and moved to Reigate Grange in 2023. Prior to coming into the care industry, I enjoyed renovating houses and did a lot of travelling for work. I thoroughly enjoy working here at Reigate and strive to keep the home and grounds to an excellent standard for our residents.

Job Title: Hospitality Supervisor Joined: 2025

I’ve spent most of my professional life in hospitality, but a few years ago I realised I wanted to do something more meaningful and rewarding. That decision led me to the care sector and ultimately to Signature at Reigate Grange.

Since joining the team, I’ve progressed from Hospitality Assistant to Hospitality Supervisor, and now manage the Activities Department. I love engaging with our residents every day and creating fun, thoughtful activities that they can truly look forward to.

What motivates me most is building a warm, vibrant atmosphere where residents feel valued, entertained, and cared for. It’s a real privilege to be part of their lives and to help make each day a little brighter.
