Mum has been a resident in Ascot Grange for almost 18 months and it’s been a life changer. When Mum’s mental health deteriorated, and it became obvious she could no longer look after herself in her own home, it was heartbreaking having to make the decision to move her into residential care but boy was it a good decision. Thanks to the patience, understanding and guidance offered by the staff at Ascot Grange Mum settled wonderfully and I can sleep easy knowing she is safe. I have the luxury of living just around the corner so I can, and do, pop in every day but if I go away I can rest assured that she’s being well looked after. The staff are friendly and dedicated and any issues are quickly resolved by the approachable and professional management team.

Thank you so much for your kind words and feedback. I cannot believe it has already been 18 months since Mum moved in! It is great to see Mum fully enjoying the community here at Ascot Grange. The staff are very fond of Mum and enjoy supporting and caring for her. It is always lovely to see you...

My parents had been residents for eighteen months at Ascot Grange Care Home and I have always given the staff and home glowing reports for their care but following my mother's passing in January, I have been amazed at the outpouring of genuine love and care for my father and to us, as a family. Although part of the larger Avery Group, the manager is very hands-on, runs his own ship. I would recommend Ascot Grange without hesitation.

Thank you very much for your feedback. Your mother and father have always been very popular characters here at Ascot Grange. The team were extremely sad at your mother's passing earlier this year and we are all making sure that your father feels loved, cared for and supported. Thank you for the privilege of letting us care for your parents.

In the four months my mother has been there, seen her moral improve from not being able to have a conversation with my mum, to seeing her as happy as she can be, and have normal conversations with her. I can only put this down to the quality of care she is getting.

Our mum moved to Ascot Grange for 18 months until her death in January 2024. We cannot speak highly enough of Ascot Grange in every respect. The manager and his management team have established a positive, caring culture throughout Ascot Grange - they lead by example. The staff are fantastic - caring, respectful, good-humoured and interested in the residents as individuals.
We are a large family so Mum had a lot of visitors in her time there at different times of day and night and we were always made to feel welcome and the team made time to answer any of our questions. Mum's health and wellbeing greatly improved when she moved in and she really appreciated the quality of the care she received.
When Mum fell ill in December and we agreed on an end-of-life care plan the support we received as a family throughout those difficult weeks was exemplary. The staff were empathetic, professional, caring and considerate and helped make a difficult time better than it would otherwise have been.

Thank you.

I came to Ascot Grange in a very weak state having been diagnosed with Anaemia but with no discernable cause and pulled muscles in my back. I was almost bedridden when I arrived but with care, support and nourishing food I became stronger. Unfortunately, I caught Covid which drained all my strength again. I am now much stronger and my walking has improved with lots of exercises. I was very happy to come to Ascot Grange which is very convenient for my daughter to visit. I would like to thank everyone here, the catering staff, the lovely carers and support staff, the cleaners and laundry staff and all other staff and management for their friendliness and humour who have all been so encouraging.

My mum came to Ascot Grange for two weeks of respite. She was safe and well cared for. After some confusion regarding meds, this was rectified. Every member of staff she/we came into contact with was so friendly and caring, which makes a huge impact on a respite break. Thank you.

(My only negative is the minimum stay of two weeks, which would deter me from using it at times).

Posh aesthetics on the inside, but poor management, nursing care that is non-existent even though you pay £650 per week for and complete lack of any care.
We put my mother in for respite care while we were on holiday. She had a sore on her back about a pea size but when she came home after 4 weeks the sore had become infected and grew 5 times the original size. They lost half of her clothing and had someone else's underwear. She lost 3 stone in weight in 4 weeks. She was due to have a catheter change while in the nursing home but they refused to carry this out and again causing a UTI. We told the home and my mum told them multiple times but was ignored.

Use this so-called nursing home at your own risk. Be warned.

Review from Elizabeth L (Wife of Resident) published on 16 February 2023 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My husband was so well looked after in the care home, he settled in immediately. His personal care was first class. His entertainment was varied and very frequent. He loved singsongs and piano playing and he participated which was quite unusual for him to do as he was a very quiet person.
The atmosphere there was exceptional, every time I visited he was in the lounge being watched by a carer (probably several carers) at all times.
He got 100% attention. He was helped to drink and accommodated with special cups. As he was a very slow eater he was allowed to sit at the table and finish his meal in his own time.
At no time was I concerned about his welfare. All the carers and there were lots, were lovely, kind and caring to him and to me. The council have moved him and unfortunately, it has not been a good move.

I know he misses everybody at Ascot Grange as I do.

A perfect oasis for Mum and Dad following Dad's emergency surgery, which left him debilitated. Dad was back on his feet immediately with the excellent care and support given. Mum and Dad have both come on leaps and bounds, and their staff at Ascot have even been described by them as one of their carnival cruises that they love so well. The food, entertainment and atmosphere are very much like a cruise holiday. As a family, the worry has gone. Thank you, Ascot Grange.

Mark DeadmanJob Title:General ManagerJoined: 2022

Thank you for taking the time to read our bios. We love to see prospective customers, families and friends, new members of staff and the local community taking an interest in our community.

I am the General Manager for Ascot Grange. My role is to ensure that we deliver what we say we do. I am responsible for overall service delivery to our customers and community, inspiring and leading the onsite team and ensuring high standards of governance and compliance are achieved.

Over the last 20 years, I have had the privilege of serving the healthcare sector by managing and leading frontline care services for our elderly population. I have come into contact with many individuals who have willingly shared their life experiences and wisdom. This has reinforced my sense of duty and heightened my level of respect for our elders.

Over that time, I have been proud to lead and work alongside some amazing team members who have had a genuine passion for care and a true desire to serve. I have learned a great deal from these colleagues along my career journey.

I am very much a people person. I truly believe in the values of responsibility, integrity, kindness, compassion and doing what I can for others. The care sector has afforded me the opportunity to ‘live’ these values in the workplace, for which I am truly grateful.

I was immediately drawn to Ascot Grange because of the culture and principles the organisation aspires to. After visiting the home and meeting some of the residents and staff, I knew that this was where I wanted to work. I subsequently joined the Ascot Grange team in January 2022. I am now passionately working with the community and team here to take the home’s services forward. The team and I are fully committed to embedding the core principles of empathy, care, compassion and integrity into the Ascot Grange community.

Please note that my door is always open: do not hesitate to come and talk to me, should you need anything or if I can assist.

Thank you again for your interest in our community.

I am delighted to join the team at Ascot Grange as the Dementia Care Manager working with the Devenish Community and other residents on the dementia pathway. I strongly believe that all residents should be supported in living their life to the full and ensuring all are supported as an individual.

I have spent my career working in care with companies including Somerset Care and more latterly McCarty and Stone as an Area Manager.

When not at work I love to travel. I am from a large family and am lucky to have them close by so we are all able to spend lots of time together.

I have been part of the Ascot Grange team since June 2021. My role involves meeting prospective new residents and their families and supporting them through the often emotional decision of choosing the right home. I feel very privileged to be part of the wonderful team here at Ascot Grange.

When not in the office I love the outdoors and all forms of sport and recreation including running, golf, paddle boarding and skiing.

I started my career in care 25 years ago when I worked as a care assistant in a nursing home. This is where I found my love of caring for our older generation and I was inspired to become a nurse. I have been qualified for 14 years now working in various roles in the NHS, mainly in day surgery and surgical wards; in care homes as a senior nurse and deputy manager.

I began my journey with Ascot Grange as Nurse Care Manager in April 2022. It is a great privilege to be given the opportunity to work with such a wonderful team. It is my passion to make sure all residents at Ascot Grange have the best quality of care.

Having started my journey at Ascot Grange in 2020, I still feel privileged to have been given the opportunity to work in such a wonderful place with caring residents and staff alike. I have seen the home go from strength to strength and with the addition of new heads of department to the team, I am sure the home will continue to grow and increase from the solid foundations being built. I will continue to bring my knowledge from my past experiences and the experiences over the past year and continue to pair it with the vision and values that Ascot Grange and the people, both staff and residents here embody. I am looking forward to meeting you all when our current climate allows. My door will always be open if you want a chat.
