Housekeeping staff, carers, activity staff all do a great job.
From the day I contacted the management, the care and attention to detail have been excellent. I decided to use the care home after I came out of hospital having had heart triple bypass and valve replacement. From being assessed after my operation through to the recovery and then leaving the home, the care and attention have been excellent. Nothing is too much trouble. I feel the return to health has been greatly assisted just to know help is at hand any time of day or night. Thank you so much to all concerned.
A warm and welcoming place where everyone goes out of their way to help you.
I have volunteered at this home on a few occasions where I have helped set up and run Xmas and summer fayers. There is a lovely happy feel amongst the staff and residents. Staff always go that extra mile. There is always something going on, coffee mornings, entertainers, day trips out etc. Fabulous place!
I had to put mum in a home for respite care whilst I had a holiday. After researching homes in the area Hawthorns looked lovely. I cannot praise all of the staff enough for the care and attention they gave my mum, it was second to none. Every member of staff was excellent. The place itself is more like a hotel feel than a home, with lovely outdoor areas too. The food was fantastic and her room was beautiful. I would highly recommend the Hawthorns, whether it be for a short stay or to be a permanent resident. Thank you.
We were welcomed with such friendliness and gentleness. The openness of the building furnishing and the rooms that were like a luxury hotel. My Aunt was thrilled and was excited to be a part of this. All of her needs will be taken care of.
My brother was at The Hawthorns for the last 2 1/2 years of his life, passing away in May 2018. The ambience of The Hawthorns is that of a luxury hotel. High standards of cleanliness were maintained and the food was excellent with an award-winning chef. The apartment was spacious. The atmosphere at The Hawthorns was relaxed and welcoming, with staff responding to others with humour and humanity. My one complaint was resolved swiftly. As my brother became frail, nothing was too much trouble for the care staff and I particularly appreciated their support when coping with the shock of his death. They were well trained, professional and compassionate. The fees for The Hawthorns were steep but worth every penny to know he was looked after in a safe, supportive environment where he was treated with respect. Shortly before he died, my brother told me he felt at peace. Thank you Hawthorns staff for ensuring his last days were contented and stress-free.
My mother stayed at The Hawthorns Aldridge for 2 weeks respite care. I must congratulate all the staff on their care and attention they gave to my mother. Their friendliness and attention was exceptional. My mother said it was like staying in a 5-star hotel. We will certainly look to use The Hawthorns in the future.
Décor, standards of furnishings and cleanliness, exceptional.
Good range of activities and outings.
Several relaxation areas.
In-house care expensive on top of resident fees.
The food quality is excellent and menus are well planned.
My dad is independent so does not need care but all the staff are very willing to assist with odd jobs etc if asked.
I moved into The Hawthorns Aldridge for a two-week break. The care I got was excellent. I shall eventually move in there permanently.
Staff are very welcoming and friendly - nothing is too much trouble for them.
The carers are patient and understanding. The food is excellent with individual needs taken into account.
The whole complex has a feeling of spaciousness and comfort. Extremely well maintained.
Individual furnishings and possessions which help to make a room personal.
As a visitor I am extremely impressed my friend is happy here and has settled in very well.
Surroundings are very pleasant and vibrant and decor is also relaxing. A pleasure to visit.
Very nice. Always feel I'm on a cruise ship. Wouldn't mind a week or two on holiday.
My friend (resident here) seems very well looked after. Hope this continues.
A beautiful retirement home. Staff are always friendly, welcoming and ready to help. We felt part of the family straight away. They give us peace of mind that mum is being well looked after, managing to keep her independence with care when necessary. We can't thank them enough.
Love it here. I feel very relaxed and well cared for. The food is lovely and there is a good variety. The trips are well thought out and activities are great fun.
I came for respite, loved it so much I stayed.
My experience has been wonderful in every way with so much kindness from all the staff at all levels. From the management down, nothing is too much trouble. The freedom of movement, cleanliness - everywhere with food and activities which are shown each weekend for the coming week. I have been so impressed as are all my relatives and friends who have visited me here and I am 92 years old.
The activity programme provided has included trips out in their own mini bus, art classes, flower arranging and exercise classes aimed at maintaining mobility. The whole experience is supported by an excellent and varied cuisine.
In no sense did we feel we were institutionalised and congratulations are due to your achieving near perfection as a concept of stylish living in retirement when required.

Meet the Team (2)

Hi, I'm Mel! I'm an activities co-ordinator here at The Hawthorns. I've just joined the team and am excited to get to know all the staff and residents.

Hello, my name is Judy, and I am the Client Liaison Manager at The Hawthorns Care Home.
I started working at The Hawthorns in June 2026. My favourite part of the role is meeting new residents and showcasing the lovely facilities that The Hawthorns Care Home has to offer. We are lucky to have a beautiful home in Aldridge. We have residents who have lived with us for years and some who come for respite.
My background is sales, but there is nothing like this role and the satisfaction of helping families in their journey to find care for their loved one. I have over 10 years of experience in the care sector and have a strong understanding of care in the community and of the journey of looking for a care home for a loved one.
I help to support residents and their families with compassion as their loved ones transition into our care. I will also work closely with the local community, leading engagement initiatives and events to build meaningful connections that enrich life within the home.
I believe in creating a supportive environment where every resident feels valued, every family feels reassured, and our community feels welcomed and involved.
