However, my father's dementia was not as advanced as that of many other residents. We felt he needed more stimulation, activities and opportunities to spend time outdoors. At times, we were also concerned about the effect that some residents' challenging behaviour had on his overall wellbeing. I felt that the environment was not the right fit for him. We therefore moved him elsewhere. This reflects his individual needs rather than the quality of the staff.

Mum has been living in Cliff House for six months now. The atmosphere is so friendly, the Manager and the Administrator are supportive and all the Staff are caring and ensure mums needs are met. The home is very clean , the food is plentiful and choices are always offered at meal times. There is a varied Activity programme , held in the lounge/communal areas or on a 1-1 basis in the residents rooms if they prefer.Mum particularly enjoys having her nails done and attends the in house hairdresser weekly.I am very pleased with mums care and feel reassured that she is in a safe and caring environment.

Excellent care given to our mum in extreme, sometimes challenging environments. Our mum had dementia and was given an abundance of care from all the team at Oaklands Care Home. The team were very supportive to the family throughout her stay. The family would like to personally thank Sam and all the team for all they did for our mother.

The rooms are very clean and great care is taken to ensure that the residents are comfortable. There is an excellent choice of food available for all.

Every staff member is a credit to the care home, being friendly, supportive and taking good care of my wife. The facilities are just what are needed and the patience of the staff is exceptional in sometimes very trying circumstances. Thank you Cliff House for providing the care I was unable to give at home

When my mum was first admitted to Oaklands me and my son went to visit. The staff were very welcoming and showed us to her room. As the time went by we got to know the staff very well. They've always treated my mum with dignity and respect. They made us feel so welcome - a strong family feeling. Nothing is to much trouble for any member of staff. They always make time to have a chat with me and my family. The last 3 days have been very hard on myself and my family when my mum was put on end of life. The staff went above and beyond to make sure that we were all looked after, offering us food and drinks, a shoulder to cry on. Nothing was too much trouble. I can't thank them enough. The amazing nurses, the excellent care staff, the brilliant house keeping team, office staff and OTs. Sam is a brilliant manger she is always there to listen. I'd definitely recommend Oaklands to other people wanting a living caring care home for their relatives. I will honestly miss going to Oaklands.

My mum has just had 18 days Respite Care, to help her, but to really help me out has her main carer with health problems of my own. The care she has been given was exceptional and I cannot thank them enough. I look forward to her next respite break. The staff from the manager right down to carers and kitchens staff have all been amazing. And the gardener/maintainance man made Mum happy by filling up the bird feeders outside her window

Activities not suitable for people who have their faculties so not to be treated like children but as adults.

Mums transition into residential care was quite hurried as her needs changed after a fall at her home. Staff were welcoming and friendly and tried hard to make mum feel an individual by encouraging personal possessions. Initial assessment and care plans were put in place to keep mum safe. She had a health assessment within days from the GP practice. Food is varied and offered appropriately. Staff are responsive and friendly to residents and family. We feel mum is well cared for and safe.

My Dad has been a resident at Oaklands for nearly 3 years now and is very settled. I cannot praise Sam and the entire team enough for the amazing care Dad receives. They treat him with respect and help him maintain his dignity even in difficult moments. They are angels. I do not live in the UK and the fact that I can go to bed every night knowing he is looked after and cared for in this way makes the difficulty of being so far away while facing this cruel illness much less stressful. The lovely activities ladies also find time to make a video call with Dad every week so I can see him and have a little chat, which obviously makes me very happy. What more can I say, a great care home with very very special, caring staff.

Since my Mum has resided at oaklands care home my experience as her son has been excellent. I feel my Mums needs are taken care of & the staff are friendly and helpful. She seems happy here and that's all we can ask for

My husband became a resident at the beginning of September to Oaklands. Since then, the care he has been given has exceeded all expectations. Every single member of staff has treated him with the utmost respect and dignity, maintaining a calm and caring manner. Nothing is too much trouble for anyone. Their attention and support have made the transition to permanent so much easier. They are all amazing. Thank you, everyone.

I have been in lots of care homes over my 70 odd years and I must say the staff are first class. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart you are all heroes.

His personal care needs and grooming are all taken care of. His clothing is always clean and freshly laundered and he looks smart and tidy. Nothing is ever too much trouble for the staff if you ask them for something and they are always friendly and polite. My Dad's room is always clean and tidy with his personal photos put on the wall by the maintenance team. They send us photos and videos. Thank you Sam and team from a very grateful family.

I think Peter has been looked after really well and would highly recommend Cliff House. Thank you for everything.

My brother went stay at Oaklands in January 2025 he's only 62 with dementia . I've never had any dealing with a carehome before . But same as the banner says outside ( SUPER HEROES WORK HERE ) that is so true I can honestly say I've never met such caring and loving people that works there NOTHING is to much trouble for them .even my dog ( Bailey ) loves to there . the only one down side is i can only give this review 5 stars. when it deserves a million stars

Excellent care has been given to my Aunty. All the carers are lovely and nothing is too much bother. The home is really clean and the staff keep them engaged, if any one of the residents need anything they are there like a flash. The atmosphere of the home is always happy and that is a big thing for a home. A big thank you to all the staff for being so kind.
