My husband was admitted to Martin Hall with delirium and challenging behaviour. The manager and team not only dealt with my husband in a very caring way (even with the abuse he gave). They supported me in everyway. I am pleased to say he is now home with me. I will be given respite allowance and I hope
Martin Hall will have room for him. I don't want him to go anywhere else. Would I recommend Martin Hall? 100%

Mum moved here a few weeks ago. Already she is looking settled. Weight done within 24 hours, yet the old home couldn't do. DOLs started the process - old one gave excuses as to why they didn't do finger nails cut, cleaned, shaped - old one, they were disgusting - which in turn led to skin rips, of which
her skin is healing now! Care here is how it should be.
Reply from Nicky Cox, Administrator at Martin Hall Nursing HomeThank you so much for your kind review, we are pleased to hear that you are happy with the care your mum is receiving and I will be sure to pass your comments to the rest of the care team.

My dad has only been with Manor Care since September and so far it's all been a very positive experience. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive and go out of their way to welcome the residents and their visiting families. The home is clean and well organised and I am confident that we picked
the right place for my dad to settle down in. He loves his new room, where it is a good size and a good sized bathroom too. I highly recommend this care home to anyone looking around this area and not sure which one to choose.

My dad unexpectedly was brought in under emergency respite. He has recently become a permeant resident of manor care centre. This was decided after a heartbreaking review and assessment for what was best for my dad's long term care needs for his advanced dementia and heart condition.

I honestly

can't praise Lisa and her team enough. Lisa has been amazing and the love she shows for her resident's is beyond's word's. Nothing is too much trouble and she understands she is looking after someone's loved one, like it is a member of her own family.

The home is spacious and has lovely grounds and bright and colourful inside. My dad is clean and looked after by the most caring of people one can imagine. Thank you all you do for my dad and the residents. You are amazing in all ways

Dad was taken into The Fountains after previously being at another nursing home for a short period, where they said they couldn't meet his needs. He had dementia.
From the day he arrived all the staff were good with him and once they got to know his needs and quirks they were very accommodating with
him.He had his moments but nothing was too much trouble for this brilliant team.
Not living locally it was a comfort to know Dad was in good hands and there was always someone on the end of the phone to assure us he was doing ok.
Dad sadly passed away 19th July and we all managed to visit him before his passing. The staff kept us well informed as he suddenly started to deteriorate and their caring manner was very much appreciated.

My mum was in the care hone for only 4 weeks from April to may the care she received was amazing she was always clean and well cared for, nothing was too much trouble
The food was homemade and fresh, she celebrated her 95th birthday while there and they made it special for her and our family making
her a lovely cake the staff were so kind and caring right up until she passed away, I can't thank them enough I know the home decor could do with updating but it was very clean
Thanks again for making my mums last few weeks comfortable and very dignified all the family wish to express their gratitude for the care she received and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend the fountains to other people

I am so relieved Mum is here. Welcoming, clean and beautifully maintained - and with a lovely garden! Mum was reluctant to enter residential care, but now she is living at the home she is happy, settled and above all - she is safe. The staff are very considerate and thoughtful, and the manager made
me feel at ease, and looked at every detail re Mum, and carefully considered Mum's needs as an individual.

Our father has now been a resident for around two years & we have always found all staff to be helpful, caring & polite.
Our mother spent her final week being cared for & we couldn't have wished for better care on her final days, both mum & the family members sat with her were looked after, the compassion
shown to the family was beyond anything we expected.
As a family we couldn't recommend Nightingale House highly enough.

My mum has been here since Oct 2024. Mum has dementia. I have an iPad in her room and generally the internet connection is good enough for me to video call her nearly everyday and she also has a hub so I, and the staff, can put some music on for her if she is a bit agitated or just would like to listen
to some music. I go and see her every couple of weeks. The staff know me and are happy to update me on how mum has been.
Generally mum is quite happy and does get involved in some of the activities. She has a lovely view from her room and I feel as though I have made a good decision to have her looked after at The Nightingale.
Mum and others say that the food is very good. I think they make it there.
It's a bit out of the way, so not the easiest to get to, but I've never had a problem parking.
Reply from Emma Steadman, Manager at Nightingale House Care CentreThank you ever so much for your thoughtful review, mum is certainly a loved character in the home and we enjoy looking after her.

This care home is failing on every level.
I have taken several photographs that i will be submitting to LCC & the CQC.
With immediate effect this care home needs closing down, the care is bare minimum,
I have huge concerns about, resident safety, hydration, boredom, lack of mobility, lack of encouragement,
health, wellbeing...
I witnessed some caring staff, which is a shame for them as several seemed to be just showing up, donning a uniform & pretending to care.
The building itself is in dire need of a major refurb, call bells are old fashioned, with bare wires at the connections & not placed within easy reach of residents, lighting is terrible.
It seems that the basic plan is to place residents in comfy chairs turn on the TV very very loudly, put on an awful film via 'youtube' & walk away, go for your cigarette break.
There are data protection breeches with personal information being left in communal areas.
Staff shortages was quoted as an issue, this doesn't surprise me, why would
Reply from Katie Robinson, Manager at The Fountains Care CentreWe would like to apologise sincerely for your recent experience, especially to your loved ones. We have received many positive reviews, however we understand that your feedback does not meet the required expectation for care standards. We acknowledge your openness and honesty and will take the concern on board to make improvements, involving staff, management and environmental changes to which we do have a refurbishment schedule in place. This has been taken extremely seriously by the company and will be dealt with appropriately. I do hope this reassures you that we have listened with planned support to make changes. Thank you for your time to liaise with us to make positive improvements to the service.

My mum had such a lovely experience at Homer Lodge. All staff were caring, friendly, professional. They made my mums stay very welcoming. Physios came around regularly and a GP every week. So we knew mum was getting well looked after. A lovely lady entertained the residents every afternoon with various
activities which my mum really enjoyed. If her family lived nearer she would have stayed. I would highly recommend Homer Lodge - The managers are making an excellent job of running the home.
