My wife was admitted into Culm Valley Care Centre from 19-10-2025 for 6 weeks until
30-11-2025.
Previous to that she was in Culm Valley from 5-1-2025 until 9-3-2025. My family and I realised she was happy there the first time so I asked for her to go there in October. It is clean, the food is excellent,
plenty of activity or a quiet time watching television. The staff excellent. Yes I would recommend Culm Valley to who needs care & looking after.

The staff are amazing and I can't thank them enough. They have assisted me and mum when I needed it most. Mum moved in in December and they are very helpful. The day room is light and airy with people around. Mum enjoys the food and is very happy there.

My mum has been at the Culm Valley Care Centre for a few months now. She has never been happier. The staff are all fantastic and mum feels very safe & secure, also the food is excellent, which is brilliant as my mum likes her food, she is really pleased with the choice and quality of the meals. Moving
here has given mum a big boost and a new zest for life.

My wife was admitted to the care centre suffering from dementia. She was not the easiest of patients, as she exhibited aggresive behaviour. But the staff treated her with kindness, patience and respect and managed her behaviour in a quiet and efficient way. I have nothing but praise for the care she
received during her stay at Ashdowne and am grateful to the carers for their conduct.

My mother moved to Culm Valley Care Home in July. Me and my siblings, and mum's carers who remain in place to visit her weekly, are all very pleased with the care provided. All the staff are very kind to mum, and us. They are considerate, polite and there to lend a hand if help is needed on our visits.
They are sensitive to mum's needs. There is plenty of communication between staff and residents.
The reception staff listen carefully to all my concerns & desires to keep my mum comfortable. They are always cheerful and nothing is too much trouble, being super efficient & dealing with everything quickly & professionally.
The activities are plentiful & varied and the activities lady is very jolly & imaginative, doing her very best to include as many people as she can and the staff are also good at joining in.
The home is spacious, with pleasant areas to move around in. There are a few areas in need of updating. Perhaps more air freshener upstairs would be nice :-)

We are so completely blown away by the care my Grandmother is currently receiving at Culm Valley.

From the moment we arrived with her we were all made to feel welcomed.
The staff did an excellent job of settling her in with dignity, and directing the conversations at her rather than us which was

such a gentle nod to her still having some independence and choice during a difficult, and probably frightening, transition in her life.

We're seeing a whole new side to someone that was previously sedentary and disinterested in any activities or leaving the house. This is, in no small part, thanks to the staff and residents at the home who have made her feel so at home and comfortable in such a short space of time.

The food is amazing; we attended the harvest Festival yesterday and the quality and quantity of food was really good.

We were a little dubious after reading some of the negative reviews, but our experience has been excellent so far.

A family member has been cared for at Culm Valley for the past couple of years. Neither we nor our relative can fault the standard of care which is provided by all the staff at the nursing home. The staff are all kind, compassionate, caring with good knowledge and hands on skills providing excellent
elderly care. Regular seasonally based activities are put on, to provide enrichment for the residents, who are encouraged to take part. The food is good quality, home-made, using quality local suppliers where possible. We know our relative is in safe hands.

Although my mother in law only had a short time at Ashdowne, the care she recieved was second to none. Nothing was too much trouble and the staff went above and beyond for our family in her final few days. The staff were always willing to help and looked after us too. We will never be able to thank
them enough for what they did for her and our family.

My mother was transferred to Culm Valley from the RD&E Hospital on January 14th, 2025, for palliative care. She lived for a further month or so. During that time, I was extremely impressed by the high quality of support and level of nursing care. My mum was made very comfortable, and died peacefully
on February 21st. The staff were always courteous and considerate to me and my wife, and mum was always treated with the highest of regard and respect. She was never made to do anything she didn't want to. As an aside, the food looked good - certainly a step or two up from the hospital.
So, if you have a relative that is coming to end of life and it's important to you that they pass in comfort with care, support and dignity, I would recommend that you consider the Culm Valley Care Centre in Cullompton. Five star all round.

I felt compelled to write this review for the exceptional care provided to my mother during her stay at Pinnex House/Ashdown Nursing Home.
The high level of professionalism and dedication I witnessed from every member of staff. From the nurses and care assistants to the kitchen staff and housekeeping,
everyone demonstrated a genuine care and respect for the residents, while maintaining a friendly and supportive atmosphere.
This compassionate approach was evident not only in the excellent care provided to my mother but also in the way staff interacted with other residents and their families. The respect and dignity afforded to all was truly commendable. I believe this positive and supportive environment significantly contributed to my mother's well-being during her stay.
Thank you again for the outstanding care provided to my mother and all the residents of Pinnex Moor House Nursing Home.

My mother underwent an operation and following a month-long stay in hospital needed further rehabilitation care before eventually returning home. She and my father have been married for 75 years and she found it extremely difficult to be parted. The staff were very welcoming to my father who spent hours
with her every day. From the moment we were offered a place at Ashdowne Care Centre we were reassured. The manageress came into the hospital to meet with the family and discuss the care needed and to chat with Mum to make sure this would be a good fit. My sister and I then met with the nursing manager. Her comment of "this is the home of the residents and I feel it a privilege to work here " really summed up the whole philosophy of the home. Each and every member of staff we encountered from there on has been, kind, caring, efficient and above all "smiley". Mum has been in for 5 weeks and is well enough to now return home. A heartfelt thank you to all!

We arrived at Ashdowne Care Centre understanding we had a short time left with Dad. It has been about just looking after Dad and caring for his needs ie his catheter and swabs for his mouth as he's not been able to drink or eat. The staff are amazing, they come every hour to tend to Dad. He is made
as comfortable as possible, the level of care is exceptional actually not only for him but for my mum, they have truly been the very best they could be for them both. I'm so grateful. They turn Dad every hour and they have had a lovely clean room with every facility necessary. I would not hesitate to have Mum here or recommend to others. We as a family are so very grateful to everyone, the staff are amazing.
