What can I say about this care home. They are quite simply amazing from all the carers to the management. Everyone always welcomes us with huge smiles. The care and love always shown towards mum is outstanding. A superb home with the most fantastic staff. Highly recommend.
Thank you. We are privileged to care for your mother and it is always a pleasure to see you and your family.
We are first cousins of the resident, who has been under your care for a good while now. Yesterday the 25th of July, we came to your Hawaii theme event, it was amazing. The planning, the participation of the staff was amazing, in fact everything was fantastic. We won the dinner raffle, but most of all how well my cousin looked, she looked amazing, she looked well, she looked happy. Her hair done, nails done and very alert and happy. Cannot thank you enough, all of you worked so hard, thanks all of you again.
Thank you so much for your kind words. We have shared these with our wonderful team.
My dad was in Oatleigh Care home for almost 4 years. During that time, which included Covid where we were unable to see him for periods of time, we felt reassured that Dad was very well looked after. We received updates on any concerns or changes with both dad's health and care. The staff and managers were very approachable and had Dad's needs at the forefront of the care provided. Staff showed genuine interest and concern of Dad and us as a family. I would recommend Oatleigh Care to other families.
Thank you for your kind words of appreciation which we have passed on to our great team.
My mum has been a resident at Oatlands Care Home for 9 years. From day one the management and staff have shown my mum and her family nothing but kindness and real compassion.
We have always been kept informed of any changes regarding Mum. The staff are excellent in their care for her and she has always been treated with respect.
We looked at many care homes before deciding on this one. Oatlands stood out from the rest by far. Whilst it is still a business they have to run, their main priority is always their resident's welfare and making their time at Oatlands a positive and enjoyable experience.
We will always be grateful to them for their kindness.
Thank you for your words of appreciation that we have shared with the team. It is our pleasure to care for your mum and your support is immensely important to us.
Most of the staff appeared to be pleasant and helpful but there were a couple who spoke roughly.
Thank you for reviewing our home. For context, the client arrived with injuries that we identified and documented at the time of admission. We do not agree with some of the comments made and these have been dealt with through the safeguarding process.
My mother has been a resident since October 2016. Mum is looked after extremely well; the staff know her, giving her time, addressing her always by name and reassuring her. My mum is always immaculately dressed; she has her hair done once a week and even has her nails painted, which I believe adds to her overall well-being. The home is clean and modern, and the staff have made me feel welcome at visiting times.
Kevin, we are so pleased to hear of your satisfaction with the service we provide to your mum. It really boosts staff morale to receive such feedback.
Thank you all.
Thank you for your appreciative comments, Anne. It is a privilege to care for your stepdad.
The only criticism I have is that it would be nice for family members to be informed when a long-term member of staff leaves.
Thank you for your words of appreciation. We note your comment about staff members leaving but rules on privacy do not allow us to communicate on their behalf.
Fantastic care and support given to my mum for a bit more than two years now. Very professional, reliable and friendly. I couldn't have found a better place for my mother's comfort. I'm very happy, so thank you very much indeed to all the carers, management and the rest of the staff who make it possible. 5-stars, without any hesitations.
As a family, we had never even considered placing my mum into a care home, and I can honestly say it was one of the most difficult decisions to make. Due to Covid restrictions, we were not able to visit Mum, but the staff were kind and compassionate and always there to reassure us that Mum was being cared for well. I would initially call daily and was never made to feel this was inconvenient. Prior to being able to visit, we were able to set up Skype calls with Mum, and this allowed us to see her and also witness the care provided. Now we can visit, the care taken to avoid cross-infection is commendable, and seeing first-hand the loving care Mum receives is heartwarming. The carers all work at a high standard, and their passion for their work is clear to see. The staff at Oatlands feel like one big family, and the dementia care they provide is outstanding. Many thanks to the amazing carers and lovely reception team for their continued hard work in these extremely difficult times.
Meyrem, your kind words are much appreciated, and we have passed them on to our wonderful staff.
I visited my ex-husband either alone or with my husband weekly for the 16 months he was in Oatleigh. The care home had a lovely friendly feeling as soon as you walked through the door. My ex-husband had his own en suite room which was spotlessly clean and comfortable with his own pictures and personal belongings around him. He was happy, well-fed and certainly well looked after with the staff always making a fuss of him. There were plenty of activities he could join in and was encouraged to do so. I also joined in a few times with some of the music events and my ex-husband loved listening to music and singing. When I visited, I always found him happy and content and the lovely caring staff made me feel welcome as well. It is very sad when a friend or relative has to go into a care home but I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Oatleigh.
Thank you so much for your kind words. It was always a pleasure to care for him. We enjoyed seeing you and your husband at your regular visits and your support has been much appreciated.
In April 2020 I called my father several times and was informed he was taking a nap and or resting. After several days when I pressed for a manager. I was told he had been unable to get out of bed for several days. I immediately suspected covid, but I was told he had seen a doctor by Skype who said he had a urine infection. Five days later he passed away in the hospital of covid. I am his next of kin and on behalf of my deaf sister, we have been trying to get copies of his care plan and medical reports for almost a year. Instead of providing these simple and rightful responses the care home manager has instructed staff to refrain from contact and has replied that we were rude. I accept that it's a good care home in general and my father was happy there however what we don't accept is the constant refusal to the medical report given by the doctor who saw him and his care plan.
The resident's Next of Kin visited him often, showing great affection. She held Power of Attorney and gave instructions that care plans, risk assessments etc. should not be shared with anybody else. The reviewer's solicitors were informed of her instructions. Medical notes are the property of the...
The happy family-run care home. The wonderful, amazingly lovely and super-duper caring people. I didn't ever feel my mother's life was ever particularly in jeopardy ever. Super home, such wonderful kind caring loving staff.
She enjoyed all the activities that they provide for them.
Thank you for your words of appreciation, we shall make sure our Team Members see this. Of course, it is a privilege and a pleasure to care for your Mum.
Completely unselfish care which my mum receives on a daily basis by an absolutely amazing and dedicated team is overwhelming. When I visit mum she is immaculately dressed, her nails painted and she looks so well cared for. The staff are so empathic when communicating with me, and they treat my darling mum as they would their own. If I am unable to look after her there is no other group of people I would 100% entrust with her. The enthusiasm, happiness and wonderful atmosphere there from the moment you step through the door and greeted by the fantastic reception team. I cannot recommend Oatlands highly enough.
Thank you so much, Sharon. We shall pass on your kind words to our wonderful team members.
It is one of the hardest decisions a family has to make, knowing if, when and where to put a loved one into residential care. That was certainly true in our case.
I visited several homes, spoke to other relatives using Oatleigh Court and various other establishments in my search for one that I felt offered what was needed and ‘felt’ right. I found that at Oatleigh Court.
Mum is always clean and well-groomed with her hair and nails done. Although Mum doesn’t want to participate in lots of activities they gently encourage her to do so but would always let her decide for herself - she prefers to sit quietly and chat to visitors. The staff are kind and reassuring to Mum and always welcoming to me and my family. There is good communication from the home too to discuss any issues that may arise.I would have no hesitation in recommending it.
Many thanks, Diane. We appreciate your kind words.
My mother has been a resident for nearly three years. During this time she has been treated with kindness, care and consideration. The staff have taken time to get to know her as a person, understand her wants and needs and treat her with kindness and patience. There is a warm atmosphere throughout, and I am confident that my mother is safe and happy. There are daily activities and my mother particularly enjoys the music recitals. I have been particularly impressed with Oatleigh Care during this time of Covid, from the protection measures they have put in place to keep everyone safe, to keeping me informed of my mother's progress and generally staying cheerful throughout under what must be great pressure. They have my trust and thanks.
Thank you, Elizabeth. It is our pleasure to care for your mother.
Dad has been a resident since March 2018. His care has been excellent. He's always clean and well-groomed. Sadly, he's now on end of life care and everyone, including the administration staff, have been so kind and helpful. We cannot fault the care he's receiving. My mum has been a devoted visitor and they are so kind to her. We have had no experience of care homes before this but all visitors and people we've spoken to have all said Oatleigh is by far the best home they know of. We trust the carers 100%.
My mum is happy and well cared for, for which I am truly grateful.
I would like her to be encouraged to join in more.
