5 stars does not seem enough for the staff at Anchorstone! The care given to all the clients is absolutley superb. The staff always have a smile on their faces and are so gentle kind and caring with all the residents who are approaching the end of their lives. Nothing seems to be too much trouble. Been a regular visitor over the last few years and their attention to detail is second to none. Always knew me when I came in and who I was there to see. Unfortunatley I lost my brother on the 11th July 2026 but I really could not have been able to trust him to better care. To add to that the home is spotless a tribute to everyone at the home. The management where tremendous in calling me straight away if there was any issue that I needed to know. They seem extremley genuine in their sorrow at losing my brother. You surely could not find a home with a better hands on team spirit than Anchorstone. God bless you for all the wonderful care you gave my brother right up until the end. Thank you xx

The staff at Anchorstone are always friendly and welcoming. They have made my friends room homely with photos they have taken of her and her late husband on the walls. She is always nicely dressed with her hair put up how she likes it, and her nails painted.She was taken out for her birthday and had a special cake made for her. The care she receives is excellent.

I can not thank everyone enough I live abroad & the only way to view Anchorstone was a video chat Just recently I was able to get over to the UK & witness Anchorstone myself I spent hours each day visiting Mum & never felt that I had outstayed my visit what was more impressive was the kindness & care not just to my Mum but to all the residents I was in awe of the staff & the way they treated every resident with dignity kindness compassion & constantly present I would like to personally thank everyone at Anchorstone for looking after my Mum Thank you to the ladies that gave me a reassuring hug when I had to say bye to Mum as this was very emotional knowing it would be months before I saw Mum again but reassured Anupa would give me regular updates. Anchorstone is a very well run care home it is clean has a lovely garden food is cooked fresh on site I am reassured Mum is in the right place a massive THANK YOU

Staff are amazing always so helpful and caring not just to my brother but to us as a family he's well looked after clean and well fed they do not miss anythink in his care he loves the the staff they always make him smile

My mum has come into this care home in the last few weeks. The staff are so help full & has settled mum in very well. Activities are brilliant. They are always welcoming to us as well. I would recommend it

Overall I feel content that my friend will be safe and well cared for.

My Mum was in Moorlands for just over two years until she passed away in April 2026. I can't praise the staff enough, they were very caring and compassionate towards my Mum, keeping her comfortable until the end despite challenges with her advancing dementia. They also kept me well informed of her condition if anything changed as well as having regular care plan reviews. They were also compassionate towards me and the family after Mum's passing, even allowing us to hold the wake at the home, with several of the staff popping in to pay their respects. I can't recommend this home enough.

The team are absolutely amazing, I moved both of my grandparents there with a previous bad experience in a different home.

Always very welcoming and look after both grandparents. Lovely peaceful area with a nice garden view as well.

I have been meaning to leave this review for a while. My father has been a permanent resident in Anchorstone coming up to 5 years and I have personally been exceptionally impressed with the level of care he receives. There are a number of points that stand out:

Mum went into Anchor-stone in November and has had the best care, even though she is very capable of doing things for herself the staff always help her and make sure she is happy and cared for. And according to mum food is excellent.

Dad is new to the care home, only being there 3 months to date. In that time, he has settled really well and has got some if his old self back again. The staff are lovely, very welcoming always talking to the residents. So far, I have no cause for concern and can only say good things about the care provided. I have attended a meeting to update families on plans for the home and if it all comes off will only improve the setting. Seeing the home decorated for Halloween, remembrance and Christmas means it's an ever changing decor! The Christmas party was a great event and dad thoroughly enjoyed dancing with the staff who all joined in, with families made welcome too. He recently celebrated his 90th birthday where we were allowed to host an afternoon tea for a few friends and close family, staff had decorated the conservatory and bought a cake and all joined in to sing happy birthday. Great home lead by Laura, Anupa and a super team.

To sum up Dad's stay, I'm very grateful it was at Anchorstone. The staff are so caring towards residents, even to the point of visiting dad in hospital before he passed away. Thank you everyone!

The staff at Crossways are incredible. The most amazingly lovely thing is how they do the work for the love of it. Looking after even the most challenging of patients is very obviously rewarding for them all. They create a warm family atmosphere and are highly skilled. They also clearly love it when families visit and go out of their way to make it pleasant.

My mom has advanced vascular dementia and needs round the clock care. The nursing home provides very well to her complex needs, but perhaps most importantly they seem to do that with genuine empathy , treating her with respect, anticipating and responding to her needs.it feels like a safe and warm place.

The staff are incredibly caring and do an amazing job. My husband is no longer able to communicate verbally, but they are very good at understanding his needs. I haven't given a rating for activities because my husband is at the stage where he is no longer able to take part.

We visit an old friend who is resident here. She looks well and well cared for and the staff are always friendly, helpful and caring.

This is not a new hotel style home, but it does provide good care and and security for the residents.

The staff are fantastic and genuinely go above and beyond-nothing is ever too much for them. Their dedication and kindness are truly commendable. However, there simply aren't enough staff to meet the residents' needs consistently. As a result, we often find residents left alone in the lounge area, particularly on Saturdays when the hairdresser is in. This isn't a criticism of the staff themselves-they clearly do their absolute best with the resources available-but rather a reflection of the need for better staffing levels to ensure residents receive the attention and companionship they deserve.

My mum was initially taken in for respite, but due to circumstances she has now become residential. Since the very beginning she has settled in so well, every single member of staff is fantastic with her. This home is so full of love and kindness it's a pleasure visiting mum here. The communication is great, every time we walk in door any member of staff will let us know mums whereabouts and her mood of the day. Cannot recommend this home enough!
