Review of Bridge Haven Care Home from A S (Friend of Resident) published on 6 August 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
I have been visiting a friend at Bridge Haven Care Home since he arrived there a few months ago. I'm genuinely impressed with the home. Each time I visit, thee is a calm but happy atmosphere; the staff are friendly, professional and above all, very caring and patient with the residents. The home is clean and bright (there is not a hint of 'unpleasant smell' - a rare thing in my experience). There are several comfortable areas for residents and visitors to sit, including the gardens. The staff engage with the residents individually and through activities to keep people engaged and stimulated (I've had great fun joining in Karaoke and bingo!). The homemade food looks really delicious!
My friend is doing so well there, he is always clean and fresh as is his room.

I congratulate Emmanuel, the manager, and his team.

Overall Experience
Initial thoughts on arrival are quiet, tidy and front doors secure with automated check-in & out. No unpleasant odours which are often found in care homes. Corridors and lounges are bright & airy with nice outlook over garden, staff are very friendly & attentive.

Some of the ratings I have not marked because I don't have contact with those.

Reply from Emma Hodges, Manager at Court Regis

Thank you for the lovely comments. Our staff work hard to maintain standards and it's nice that their efforts are noticed and appreciated.

Staff are lovely & very attentive, sometimes it looks like staff are under pressure and need more carers to help, as Sometimes residents are very needy and take up all of there time, the carers are great and do their best all the time.

Review of Wain House from M S (Niece of Resident) published on 14 July 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

Food at the property is not aimed at elderly occupants. They like simple food - bangers + mash, pie + chips, etc. One day my aunt had a choice of sweet + sour pork or sweet + sour veg, both with rice. In my experience the elderly like plain food. There is no starters and a very limited choice of desserts. The food lets the care home down. The morning toast is cold and hard. I can't comment on the activities because my aunt hasn't taken part in anything. The one time I asked if the home had transport, i was told there was no driver, so do the residents go out anywhere? I've not seen a mini-van, so is there one? Staff are great, food is not.

Review of Amherst Court from Caroline W (Daughter of Resident) published on 6 July 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

My mum has been a resident for over a year and from the very first visits as respite she has been well looked after. All the staff are really friendly and many of them put in extra effort to make sure that my mum is as happy and relaxed as is possible. The staff at Amherst Court are its greatest asset. That includes every department not just the carers. Everyone says hello and smiles when I visit.

We are very pleased that we chose Amherst Court for the care for our father. You are made to feel welcomed as soon as you walk through the door. All the staff whether on reception, housekeeper, the maintenance guy, all find the time to talk to you.

The care our father gets is excellent. Any issues, you always get a telephone call or email to keep you informed. The cleanliness of the home is superb, and the turnaround of all the laundry is very quick.

Very pleased and happy with Amherst Court. It's taken the resident a wee while to settle however we did expect this. Staff are so helpful, kind, caring and respectful. Showing concern for his welfare and with empathy. A sincere 'Thank You' to all staff, from reception cleaners, kitchen and ward staff.

We are very happy that Beryl appears to be well cared for in the home and are always made to feel welcome by the reception team and carers on the wards.

It is not easy having to visit a parent in a home but this experience could really have been a lot worse, so thank you.

Review of Amherst Court from S T (Daughter-in-law of Resident) published on 17 June 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

My father-in-law has been reluctant to move from his bed during the hot weather we have been experiencing, hence his food and liquid intake hasn't been good. We expressed concern to the senior on the ward, and later in the day, she emailed to say he had been encouraged out of bed and had eaten and drunk as well. We really appreciated her taking the time to do this as it eased our mind on his wellness. We appreciate all the staff do for him, not only on the ward but reception, admin, canteen, domestics and hairdressing.

Reply from Nicola Bundock, Home Manager at Amherst Court

Thank you for taking the time to share such a lovely review. We completely understand how worrying it can be when a loved one is reluctant to get out of bed, especially during the hot weather, so we are incredibly glad we could help ease your mind.

Review of Bridge Haven Care Home from Lynne R (Daughter of Resident) published on 2 June 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

This is our first visit since the residents were moved to Primrose. I like it much better. The residents are closer together and feel like a community instead of being spaced so far apart. They seem much more involved with each other rather than falling asleep. The staff are very actively involved with the residents too, having them all closer together. Very happy with the move & the care the residents receive. Rooms are nicer too!

Review of Court Regis from Jeremy H (Son-in-law of Resident) published on 19 May 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My Mother in Law arrived at Court Regis in early March after a long period of planning the next steps for her. We spent a lot of time talking to the staff beforehand as it was likely to be a difficult day for her. Emma and the whole team were first class and the arrival went very smoothly with the least possible stress. My Mother in Law was welcomed personally at the front door and made to feel very special. In the early days we were kept regularly informed of how she was doing and this was much appreciated. When we started to visit (after a couple of weeks as agreed/planned with the staff) it was very obvious that she was being very well cared for and was comfortable in her new surroundings. The care and genuine affection from all of the staff (for all the residents) is very clear to see. My Mother in Law is in safe and caring hands. Everything we have experienced as a family leaves us in no doubt that Court Regis is a place to be highly recommended.
