I believe happy. His health, both physically and mentally, has dramatically improved.
I am not in a position to visit often as I live in Canada. However ; I can now leave him secure in the knowledge that the wonderful team, who have become family to him, will provide for his complex needs with creativity, compassion and.skill in a loving environment. He is blessed .

It is almost impossible to quantify the huge difference that you make to the resident's lives, and to see the dignity and compassion with which you young (mostly!) people treat the residents is truly wonderful.

trouble. The food is good and her room and the home is very clean. There is a lovely garden area where you can sit, nestled in the heart of Babbacombe. I highly recommend it.

They also got along with our family. It put our minds at rest, we were very much supported by the management and staff nothing was too much trouble. We as a family can't thank you enough I would highly recommend this care home.

On accepting my father into this home his needs in every way including lack of mobility, lack of hearing, lack of understanding of normal everyday things, and lack of continence were not addressed in my view, in an acceptable basic care of duty manner. Communication with my mother, the wife of the resident, was not treated in a caring professional manner but in a dismissive uncaring, almost aggressive manner. As this home is in Torquay and our family lives 25-40 miles away he didn't keep his regular doctor. We asked several times for a doctor to see him due to his fast deterioration of health and being in pain, when home actually got a doctor it was basically too late. RIP Dad.

to battle for a raised toilet seat, a padded chair cushion, a call bell, and a tv that worked. After a few days, my normally pristine friend smelled awful - I was told that she had consistently refused a wash, and she had also refused food.
Once, my friend was left to sleep in a chair in the lounge rather than being taken to her bed. The staff only knew of this when we insisted they check the CCTV.
Worst of all though, they ran out of an important tablet that was needed twice a day. It was only because my friend deteriorated rapidly and we investigated, that we found out. She was without it for a week!
I feel sorry for other residents still there. I would give zero stars if it were possible. Avoid!

with the help of the staff and the lovely maintenance man, things have been moved around until she was satisfied with the 'look'. Since day one, mum has enjoyed and praised the food and gradually she has settled in. She has wobbles about being in a care home and the staff listen and support her with great kindness during these times. When the family visit (we all live as a distance, two siblings in Canada) we are made very welcome and always offered refreshments. The staff always have time to answer our phone enquiries about mum. We feel cared for too. Care is the appropriate word for Choice. The staff are warm and available and always have time to listen. They are unsung heros.

although I declined, I was amazed at the variety of meal choices offered to the residents. In the afternoon a lovely man visited with rabbits and chinchillas which my friend obviously enjoyed. When I visited my friend at her previous home, she didn't interact with the other residents or join in any activities, it was lovely to see that she obviously feels very at home at Choice and enjoys the social interaction and activities on offer. The staff obviously had time to ensure that the residents needs were met and it was clear to see they were happy in their work.

the help of the management, staff, and other outside bodies I have managed to get my life back on track, I'm now looking to the future with anticipation.
The care and help that I have been given, I can never repay.

When I walked through the front door a lady was wandering around with a very soiled nappy in her hand.

this care home highly enough, they were brilliant. I just wish my mum had, had more time there to enjoy their facilities and activities.
