Chestnut Court has such a lovely, homely feel from the moment you walk in. The staff are incredibly caring and supportive , nothing is ever too much trouble. The beautiful garden is a real highlight and always so well kept. My mother can be quite fussy with food, but she absolutely loves the fresh, homemade cooking. It's such a comfort knowing she is so happy and well looked after.
Thank you so much for your kind and thoughtful review, and for taking the time to share your feedback with us. It genuinely means a great deal to everyone on the team. We feel truly honoured and privileged to have been entrusted with the care of your mother.
My mum has been at chestnut court for over 4 years, she has loved being there and has engaged with the manager and staff and has been fairly independent, but in the last year she has declined due to Dementia, but all the staff look after her very well, and go the extra mile to ensure she is cared for especially the manager who I have found to be very warm and caring and communicates with me at all times, as I don't live close by. I would recommend highly lovely Home and staff

If you're looking for a care home for a loved one then I recommend that you go and have a viewing. It has such a homely atmosphere and it's a really special place.
Thank you very much for your kind words. It was our pleasure and honour to care for your sister. She brought so much joy to our home, and all of the staff miss her greatly. We truly appreciate you taking the time to leave a review-your feedback means a great deal to us.
Chestnuts has provided a caring home for our relative and has given us peace of mind too.
Thank you so much for your kind words and taking the time to review us. I will pass on this wonderful review and ensure the whole team receives this well-deserved feedback.
We are having a great experience with all the team at the home. Everyone is courteous and couldn't be more helpful. Communications are always clear and relevant helping us understand and where necessary make decisions on our mother's care.
Thank you for taking the time to review us and for your kind words. It is our pleasure to care for your mother. She has made many friends here and settled in well.
My Mum has dementia and moved into Chestnut Court in Spring 2025. I am really pleased that she is there, she is well looked after and safe. The care home manager and staff are all lovely, friendly and welcoming. There's a wide range of activities running every day which are all excellent, my Mum enjoys these. Chestnut Court is very clean, Mum has a lovely room and the home is really well run. I feel very reassured that my Mum is in such a good care home; I visit regularly and the staff are always kind and caring with each individual resident. It's a homely and happy place.
Thank you for taking the time to review Chestnut Court, and for your kind words, which I have shared with our team. It is our honour and our pleasure to care for your mum.
My dad has been a full time resident at Chestnut Court for approximately 2 years now, and he receives excellent care and attention from all of the team there.
The staff are extremely caring, friendly and welcoming when we go to visit my dad, and a cuppa and biscuit are always offered.
The activities team work really hard to keep all of the residents entertained, with family orientated events such as garden tea parties and trips to the beach.
Also, a special mention to the Chestnut Court manager who went above and beyond to be there for the family when my mum passed away recently.
Overall a fantastic, well run and extremely friendly care home.10/10.
Thank you for your kind words. It has been our utmost pleasure to care for your parents. Thank you for attending our events in the home.
We had to look for a care home for mum at 91 after she broke her hip and was diagnosed with vascular dementia. It was an emotional and difficult decision as mum wanted to stay living independently in her bungalow. I visited many care homes and immediately felt Chestnut Court was the home for mum with its homely atmosphere and welcoming and friendly staff. The carers and myself supported mum settling in. Mum has been living at Chestnut Court for over 2 years and is very happy there. The carers are the loveliest people who all love mum and give her excellent care so that I don't have to worry about her. The care manager, an ex carer herself, is very hands on with the residents and carers. She is very open to any suggestions that I make and is a very caring person. Mum enjoys all the activities. The food is excellent and mum eats well and has put on weight eating all the homemade cakes and puddings. With its homely, community atmosphere, I would highly recommend Chestnut Court.
Thank you for your lovely review. All the team at Chestnut Court are grateful to read your kind words. We take great pleasure in looking after your mother.
My Mum has been living at Chestnut Court for over 2 years and she is cared for really well. I never have to worry about her when she's at Chestnut court. The carers provide compassionate care for all residents. The home provides a homely environment for my Mum. There are daily activities which stimulates the residents. The food my Mum enjoys and she can choose from a menu. The management team are open to suggestions and send regular email updates. Thank you to all of the team including, carers, management, catering staff and house keepers for caring for my Mum so well.
Thank you for submitting a review and providing us with your feedback. We hope to continue providing the best possible care to your mother.
My poor husband suffered so much in the last days of his life. This place is awful, the end of life care is dreadful. Three days before he died I found him in agony with his head on the foot of the bed. He was crying and said to me for gods sake help me. When he died he was left eyes bulging mouth wide open, it was like a horror movie. Bad management all the way, no one should end up like this. I am sorry I have nothing good to say about this place. I have many more stories, none good. The experience has shaken me.
Our staff are committed to providing the highest standard of care. We take all concerns/complaints seriously, using them as opportunities for reflection and continuous improvement. Upon being made aware of this complaint, we commissioned an independent Health and Social Care consultant to conduct a...
Any issues are dealt with promptly and with no fuss. Activities are daily and they encourage residents to join in which I couldn't achieve at home. He's now needing help with feeding and has become incontinent and these have been managed before I even realised they were an issue.
My sincere thanks to all concerned at Chestnut Court Care Home.
My Aunt was happy and well cared for at Chestnut Court for many years until she passed away at the end of March. I have been impressed by the management team and admired their compassion, dedication, and patience whilst they cared for and ensured the safety and well-being of my Aunt. The property itself has seen many improvements recently. Compared to other care homes I have visited, Chestnut Court appears welcoming, bright, and cheerful with plenty of visual stimulation for the residents.
I would have no hestitation in placing her there again if the need arose.
Nurses and Doctors visit every Monday to conduct regular check ups. The Home Manager is very easy to talk to about anything to do with my friend. I am happy to recommend Chestnut Court to everyone and I'm keeping it in mind for when or if I need their services myself.
My friend has been a resident for about three months. It has taken a while to settle in. All the staff have been on the wrong end of her temper, but the staff have been patient and supportive. I visit about once per week, they always have a welcoming smile and are attentive. The property is having some internal renovations and new carpet soon. The place is always clean and tidy and the daily menu is different.
I found it very interesting to see what happens in a nursing home but I could not do the job. The staff at Chestnut Court Care Home are very good to the people around them. They are very helpful when I go there. All I can say is they are very good at their jobs, they are the people you really do need around.
The story of how and when the rings went missing consistently changed, a ring was found, it had a slight similarity to Mum's ring but on seeing it, it definitely wasn’t hers. Another resident told me her ring was also missing. My mother treasured her rings and never let them out of her sight.
Whilst every care is taken to ensure our resident’s property is kept safe, items can and do get lost or misplaced. For this reason, we discourage residents from bringing jewellery into the home. Rings are such small items and can be dropped and lost very easily. A full investigation was carried out...
There seems to be nothing that is too much trouble for the staff and they seem to genuinely enjoy their jobs.
The staff are all amazing and will do anything to help her, she only has to ask. Nothing is too much trouble. Everyone (without exception) is cheerful, friendly, so helpful land very efficient. We only looked at one care home, we didn't need to look further. So well managed.
