My brother-in-law is a long term resident of HighTrees. He is very happy there. He has been taken away on holiday, day trips, meals etc. During the day he listens to music, watches TV, colouring in, goes to shops, cinema and for walk. They have birthday parties for residents where family is encouraged to attend. He has visits from, chiropodist, doctors, he's taken to the dentist and so his physical health is well looked after. If the weather is good they will go outside in the garden, go for a walk or to the park. He is well fed. We are kept up to date with any incidents at the home. We are confident that he is safe and well looked after.
Rats in the garden and in the car park at the front. These were reported a week ago and still nothing has been done. Repairs are taking months to be carried out, some are not done at all. Residents keep getting told there is no budget to cut down trees which are overgrown, the garden is a rat-run. Leaves pile up outside the front entrance this is a slip hazard. Residents are too afraid to use the gardens because of the rats. The whole place is shabby. Residents were told Wi-Fi would be installed, again they are now told there is no budget for this. Complaints go unheeded. I would not recommend this place to anyone especially as the rent is almost £200 per week for a tiny one-bedroom flat.
A pest control service was contacted on 17th July and a job has been...
The management actively encourage interaction and arrange extra activities such as a lunch club, football game trips, speciality animal visits and afternoon teas. Lately, there’s been BBQs in the garden as it’s been great weather. Everyone is invited to join in, including family members. I honestly hadn’t seen my mum laugh and smile so much for years as she did doing karaoke!
The staff welcome feedback and communication is really good with a dedicated phone number for the senior in charge, a messaging group and regular updates on ‘what’s on’.
The garden is a delight with many items having been made by some of the residents as well as familiar items from their previous gardens.
Thank you so much for your review Sharon, it means a lot the team Arden to be recognised for the great work the team do. Arden Grove really believe that people with dementia and related symptoms can flourish and life a fulfilling life.
Management try really hard to make things happen. Any concerns are listened to and actioned. The staff are very friendly, communicative and nothing is too much trouble. Mum is very happy here and I would gladly recommend Arden Grove Care Home to anybody. Well done team!
Thank you so much for your review, feedback is really important and I am so happy to hear that you are happy with the service delivered. Arden Grove really believes in fulfilling the lives of individuals and it is really nice to hear it is recognised.
A beautiful home with excellent staff, very warm and friendly people and also very clean. I couldn't fault the place. Great communication skills, the staff do a fantastic job. Keep up the good work, you are all amazing.
Would not recommend the above home for vulnerable adults. Many safeguarding issues in tandem. The manager has a very indifferent, negative and defensive attitude. The home operates on a blame the victim culture - even though residents are learning disabled and need 24-hour care. My brother has been here for many years and it was a very good home in previous years. Unfortunately, since changing hands there has been many changes of staff, absences, allegations of abuse and ongoing, safeguarding concerns relating to serious incidents. Residents generally sit around in the lounge with the TV on or take themselves off to bed - not engaged in activities of any description and completely lack stimulation. Very concerning.
I would give a 10 out of 10.
Thank you,
