I and my family placed my husband, Paul, with you for 24 hour end of life care. The care he and we, his family, received was far above the very best we could have asked for.
We will forever remember and appreciate the care and compassion displayed by all the staff at Abbeydale.

We all had an absolute lovely day. Due to the fact we had all travelled a good distance they prepared a lovely buffet for us that they served after the residents lunch in the conservatory. The staff were delightful and friendly.
I have never visited someone in a care home before and the only stories
you hear, aren't positive. I watched as staff interacted with residents and was fantastic. Listening I chuckled may times Listening. All the staff are busy little bee's and hats off to them.
My relatives seem very happy there and now have a room together that actually accommodated 10 of us and a dog and still didn't feel cramped.
Reply from Katty Bailey, Registered Manager at AbbeydaleThank you so much for your lovely review. We really enjoy welcoming visitors into the Care Home and I am so pleased that you had a lovley day. I hope the dog who was also visiting was able to get spoilt with some of the dog biscusits we keep for our 4 legged visitors!

My mum is a resident at New Lodge, she has early onset dementia and is only 62. I was worried that because some of the residents are older that she would lose her identity and all the activities wouldn't suit her but I was so wrong. She's treated like someone of 62 should be treated. Every single staff
member I have ever had interaction with has been amazing, friendly, caring and understanding. I would highly recommend this nursing home.
Reply from Sue White, Manager at The New Lodge Nursing HomeThank you for your positive review. Your mum is a pleasure to look after. Our staff work hard to provide care that centres around your mums likes and preferences. We see all our residents as individuals and the care we provide is tailored to each and every one.

My mother in law is a resident of New Lodge, the care she receives is second to none and all staff are friendly and welcoming. The facilities are always clean and tidy. I often see my mother in law participating in activities whether it be bingo or chair based exercises. She really seems to have settled
in very well.

My sister has been there about a year and they have been amazing with her and us when visiting .
She has plenty things to do and the staff know her and her ways they are very professional.
She loved the ascot day when she got dressed up this put a great smile on my sisters face while we don't see
much as she is really not herself it's a horrible illness.

My mum Ann was taken into the New Lodge in October 2025 for end of life care. She was a resident for 4 weeks. Her care was the best you could ever wish for. She was very poorly but every staff member went above and beyond to make her final weeks comfortable. I cannot thank everyone enough to which
I would highly recommend this care home to everyone.
A special mention to Sue and Karly who knew how to deal with our worries as mum was dying. They talked us through what would happen when she passed. They were so compassionate and caring.
Also, Amar was again instrumental in the running of the care home. He was so friendly every time I visited and again could not help us enough. It was a very tough time for the whole family but without Amar, Sue and Karly it would have been more distressing.
What a team. the owner should cherish staff like these.
Thank you

The care of my Mum was exemplary. Throughout her 18 month stay she was treated with great kindness and patience. She was 96 years old and was receiving palliative care for breast cancer. She was naturally scared about her condition but the staff gave her reassurance and made her comfortable. I thank

An extraordinary care home. I can't recommend it highly enough. The love, the quality of nursing care, the attention to detail and appreciation of who my dad really was inside. I can't thank staff enough. A wide range of engaging activities, comfortable, beautiful surroundings. Exceptional nursing care.
They pushed and pushed for the very best for my dad. He was a resident for 6 years and loved every day.

Happy with the care my Dad is receiving, all the staff are friendly and caring. he is happy in the home, likes his room and joins in some of the daily activities when possible. Bedroom - bathroom is too small, no room to turn around/sit on the toilet comfortably.

I found the staff very very good indeed, though often rushed off their feet. A lot of foreign staff who are paid rather low wages.
The room was not satisfactory, a bell outside, a lift on the outside, a stock room up above the room which was extremely loud at times, many times actually. This room should
not be used for a patient!
Reply from Katty Bailey, Senior Nurse Manager at Stanley HouseThank you for taking the time to give us your feedback. We have shared your praise of our staff amongst the team; working in the care sector is always a busy role and it is great for them to feel appreciated by the residents and their relatives and for their dedication, compassion and skills to be acknowledged. We are fortunate to have such a committed and hard working team, and are proud to be an equal opportunities employer which is reflected in our diverse team. We would like to state that we ensure fair pay and conditions in line with industry standards. We are sorry to hear your thoughts regarding the bedroom, that it did not meet your expectations. It is located in a generally quiet section of the home although we do appreciate that there may be some localised noise occasionally during the day because of the stock room and lift. We would like to apologise if your husband was disturbed by these external sounds.

My mum was a resident at New Lodge from November 23 to April 25, she had advanced dementia and frailty. For the whole time she was treated with kindness dignity, respect and loving care. The staff are some of the most dedicated kind people you could ever meet. The home is beautifully clean, homely and
welcoming. Every visit no matter what time of day or night we were greeted with a smile, warmth and a drink ( and often biscuits and cake !). The care is exemplary. As a family we can't thank New Lodge staff and the owner enough for such wonderful care and also support to Mum and our family right to the very end. There really are no words good enough to describe this wonderful group of people who made my dear mothers last months so special. Thank you to you all.
