An extraordinary care home. I can't recommend it highly enough. The love, the quality of nursing care, the attention to detail and appreciation of who my dad really was inside. I can't thank staff enough. A wide range of engaging activities, comfortable, beautiful surroundings. Exceptional nursing care.
They pushed and pushed for the very best for my dad. He was a resident for 6 years and loved every day.

I found the staff very very good indeed, though often rushed off their feet. A lot of foreign staff who are paid rather low wages.
The room was not satisfactory, a bell outside, a lift on the outside, a stock room up above the room which was extremely loud at times, many times actually. This room should
not be used for a patient!

The home has the feel of a well-run hotel, the staff are always welcoming residents, wishes are respected, while at the same time their care needs are met with care and consideration. They keep the family informed of all things related to the resident's care.

My mum was a resident at New Lodge from November 23 to April 25, she had advanced dementia and frailty. For the whole time she was treated with kindness dignity, respect and loving care. The staff are some of the most dedicated kind people you could ever meet. The home is beautifully clean, homely and
welcoming. Every visit no matter what time of day or night we were greeted with a smile, warmth and a drink ( and often biscuits and cake !). The care is exemplary. As a family we can't thank New Lodge staff and the owner enough for such wonderful care and also support to Mum and our family right to the very end. There really are no words good enough to describe this wonderful group of people who made my dear mothers last months so special. Thank you to you all.

My dad was cared for at Stanley House for just under 4 weeks at the end of his life. The care Dad received was excellent. All staff were friendly and respectful and they cared for dad with great dignity. Dad always looked beautifully looked after and he was peaceful and comfortable. At no point did
I have any concerns about Dad's care and this allowed us to sit with dad with no worries as his life ended. Stanley House was very well organised and all staff were very professional. Stanley House very much felt like a home and all the staff were friendly and welcoming. Thank you to Stanley House for looking after dad so well in the last few weeks of his life.

The care that is provided is 2nd to none. My daughter is unable to do anything for herself & is not always cooperative.
I am extremely grateful that her unwillingness at times has no bearing on the quality of care administered.

Our mother is a resident at New Lodge Nursing home. She has Huntingtons disease which is a complex illness. She has always received the highest level of care for her needs. The staff always prioritise her dignity. The staff are highly trained and experienced to deal with the complex and challenging
nature of the illness. The environment is always clean and standards in the home are high throughout. They also do regular activities to engage with the residents and families are always welcomed. The last few years has been difficult for us as a family but the home has always provided support and guidance even in the most challenging of circumstances. The staff that look after our mother on a daily basis or the most caring, thoughtful people and we are grateful for their hard work and kindness.

My Nan moved here after a hip replacement.
This nursing home is probably the best we have been to. The staff are amazing as well as the managers.
We really couldn't ask for better care. The staff are always happy and treat the residents with the up most respect as well as the family members. Since
being there my Nans over all mental health has also improved which is amazing. We wish she was there from the start

Our mum past away a week before Christmas after battling Huntington's disease for nearly 20 years. I moved her from a previous home as there was a few red flags and she's been residing at The New Lodge for about 6 years. Mum's time here, the care given has been excellent but not only to her but to myself
and brother as well, it's been our second family. Mum fought her illness right until the very end and the dignity and respect given is something that we'll never forget. Even mum had her send off from the home which is something I'm so grateful for. Genuinely a lovely, caring team.

Though our expereince with Stanley House lasted only a few days, we cannot fault the care and comfort that our loved one received in his final days. From the moment we stepped into the home, we were greeted with reassurance, guidance and a sense of real care. We were never made to feel that any question
was too big and never felt rushed to make any decisions. Instead, we were supported by a dedicated nursing team, who walked the final journey with us. Even when our loved one passed, the respect and reverence that he was shown was unmatched. We were given the space to grieve, and say goodbye and each next step was explained delicately. Stanley House, we thank you.

My aunt only had 3 months at Abbeydale but even that short time, the staff got to know her really well. They were unfailingly compassionate and loving, always had smiles on their faces. She thoroughly enjoyed the banter she had with all of them. Nothing was ever too much trouble and we felt cared for
in the same way in the last few hours of her life. I am so glad we chose Abbeydale and I am sorry my aunt did not have longer with them.

Following a sudden decline in my stepmother's health, my dad joined Abbeydale for a short period of time.
During this time, the staff were so supportive of both my dad and my family, making this difficult transition easier to manage.
Every member of staff provided the highest standard of care
and emotional support and genuinely cared about helping people!
The residents there were also very supportive to each other and spoke very fondly of the care they were receiving and the staff looking after them.
Myself and my family really cannot thank and praise them enough!

My husband was only in Abbeydale for just over 6 weeks, following a short stay in hospital for blood transfusions. He had been suffering from Prostate Cancer since March 2020 and now required 'end of life care'. Although his brain was still active, his body was shutting down and he was unable to move
about unaided. All the team at Abbeydale tried to make him comfortable at all times. We all appreciated his large bedroom with a huge picture window overlooking trees, so at least he could see something from his chair or bed. We thought this very important as he never did leave his room to go downstairs! It was a pleasure to visit knowing this was our private space.
My husband took a turn for the worse 5 days before he died and I cannot thank the nurses and staff enough for their palliative care during this very emotional time. I would certainly recommend Abbeydale as a very comfortable and friendly care home where delicious food was served.

On the first enquiry, the manager was very welcoming and helpful, also while we were trying to sort out a different payment scheme with the council. We felt the staff seemed more interested in interacting with the residents than we'd noticed in all other care homes we'd visited. We were very happy with
the care my mother received and would recommend Stanley House to others.
