My Dad went to Silver Birches for a period of rehab. The manager and staff were all friendly and helpful and went out of their way to make him feel welcome and happy during his stay. The food was excellent and nothing was too much trouble. When it was time to leave the staff on duty all came out to say bye and wave him off which was lovely and meant alot to Dad.
I am currently staying in 16 Station View, Starbeck for rehabilitation after fracturing my hip. I am so impressed at the care I am receiving. The staff are so kind and helpful. The catering is excellent and I'm being amazed every day at the beautifully prepared meals. As I write, it's a very hot afternoon, and I've just been brought a cooled fruit smoothie! I am so grateful for the help to getting me back on my feet!
The staff are supposed to check clothing/ pockets etc before washing, had they had done this my wife's new IPhone would not have gone through the washing procedure. Whilst they acknowledged they were at fault and had meetings on the subject I am unable to get reimbursed even though I sent them the receipt for the phone. I would add my wife enjoyed her stay so not all bad news!
A heartfelt thank you to all at Town Close. The restaurant staff who ensure the residents have a balanced and nutritious diet, often varying the menu at short notice to accommodate the residents needs and preferences. And for making mealtimes a happy experience, filled with laughter and good humour. The carers, for their dedication, commitment, kindness, creating a safe environment for residents, giving them peace of mind, a bond of trust and confidence, treating residents with respect and dignity and going that extra yard. The ladies in the main office for their welcome, help and ongoing support to residents and their families, taking time to ensure the individual needs of residents are met, organising social activities, and going out of their way to encourage as many residents as possible to participate, promoting a positive community spirit and togetherness. The cleaning staff for taking great pride in their work and for keeping Town Close so clean and sweet smelling.
Would definitely recommend Carentan House for respite.
He is back home and feeling great. A massive thank you from.
Mum came very frail and unwell. Being told she was going to a home for respite upset me. She has come on in leaps and bounds - thank you to all the staff at Ashfield. The due care and attention are second to none. They have built her up into a new woman, with nice food, baths and hairdressing. I can't thank the team enough, including the male maintenance, who is so kind. Mum's stay here has taken a big weight off my shoulders, knowing that she is safe and well cared for. Thank you so much.
My Father became a permanent resident of Larpool Lane Home following a period of respite and a change in health assistance requirements in September 2015. I can wholeheartedly recommend Larpool Lane as a 'Home from Home' with its outstanding kindness, friendliness, and professionalism shown to all the residents, and their families. In fact, the staff speak with real kindness as though my father is their relative due to the length of time they have known him, as he started to access their then day centre from 2006 following his first stroke. The staff go above and beyond to help their clients to transfer to living in, ensuring they feel settled and content.
My 88-year-old mum living in the UK has no close family in the UK because I live in South Africa and her other daughter lives in New Zealand. After a severe fall that broke her ribs, she was moved from the hospital to Station View for interim care. This was all during Covid lockdown. The team did a wonderful job of looking after her. They printed out and took emails from us to mum. They assisted her on every level and reassured myself and my sister on a daily basis about her health and well-being. She is now moving to a 24/7 care facility for which she was required to complete assessments and fill in numerous forms, all done with the help of the staff at Station View. Thank you to the team at Station View - a truly empathetic, supportive and kind team.
I met a person for the first time and he was on one 2 one. He made me laugh. He has got learning disabilities. My key-worker is especially kind and she makes everyone laugh. I went to the local cafe with her and another guest quite a few times. I also went to the cinema with a team leader and a guest to see MAMA MIA 2 here we go again. i had a room with an en-suite shower room. I had a choice of evening meals and breakfasts. I cannot wait to stay there again in a few weeks when I will be in with 2 other guests. I really like staying there it is a lovely and safe place to stay at. Also, all the team leaders and night staff are polite.
I was very pleasantly surprised at the care and compassion my mother received at Station View. I work in the NHS myself and am very aware of the constraints on the carers time and the resources available to them. The carers during her whole stay of 7 weeks were so kind and thoughtful, without exception. The food was always varied, very well prepared and extremely well presented. Overall a very pleasant stay for both mum and family alike, we always felt welcome and the whole place has a homely and family feel to it. My mum is looking forward to going back for respite (and we never thought we would hear her ever say that!). Thank you.
Wonderful Care Home Ashfield staff BRILLIANT.K kind, caring and very supportive, home from home. All staff from cleaners, kitchen staff, carers and management give 100%.
Station View is an excellent facility for both rehabilitation and interim support. The care afforded to my elderly mother over several weeks, following falls and a fortnight in hospital, was first rate and I have no doubt that the Team at Station View were responsible for her regaining sufficient confidence and health to enable a smooth transition to a care home.
The care staff at Ashfield are kind, caring and attentive to the needs of their residents. I believe they are second to none and that also goes for the private sector in my experience. and the rest home is very clean and comfortable.
The staff and guests are very kind and also the staff work very hard to look after the other guests. Also the management team are very nice to speak to. There is one staff member who we have a funny nickname for because she does some very funny things to make everyone laugh.
Benkill Lodge is a Godsend. The staff are second to none, happy, smiley, singing the day away, these people are professional angels. It takes a very very special person to work the way they do with genuine care. My good old friend has gone from strength to strength. from being a pretty much rock bottom to being happy, safe, well, clean and content. 10/10.
