I visit my husband who is a resident in Cannock Specialist Care Centre every week, and I always find him comfortable, clean, shaved, and dressed. The staff are extremely pleasant, caring, and cannot do enough for my husband. The Managers, Jo and Becky are ALWAYS available to me if I ever need to speak with them. My husband's room is spotlessly clean, his wardrobe tidy. The whole unit is spotless, and the carers look after residents in the lounge, where they relax watching TV. I sometimes sit in the lounge, and listen to carers chatting to residents with such compassion, we have to remember that a lot of the residents have dementia, and therefore are confused, some tearful, it's heartwarming to hear how the carers talk to these beautiful people, and make them feel safe. Lots of people do not understand the complexity of caring for Altzeimers/Dementia suffers, and I honestly believe that at Cannock Specialist Care Centre they have managed to train the best staff to look after residents.
My partner was a resident from April 25 to march 26 ,the centre is a shining example of dementia care ,it a lovely environment clean and welcoming, the staff are very well trained and show companion and dignity at all times with each and every person in their care not always easy due to each client's individual needs.
Thank you to all who were involved with him during his time at Cannock.
A very poor experience. My Uncle was taken into the Care Home at the beginning of December 2025. In the whole time he spent in the Care Centre, as his next of Kin, I never once received an update on his situation and was never allowed to speak to him, although I explained every time I rang that I live 200 miles away from Cannock and was unable to visit until the beginning of January 2026. I asked on each occasion to speak to his assessor but I was never contacted at all until 12th January 2026, when I was asked to attend a meeting at the Centre on 14th. On that day my Uncle immediately asked me when he would be able to go home. Every item of his own clothing and underwear had gone missing. He was wearing a nappy. He said that there were people in and out of his room all the time who took his personal things and the remote for his TV. The process to have him discharged was a nightmare because as soon as they found he did not want to stay they pressured us to get him out of the Centre.
A miracle happened for my dad, he was accepted into RHG Stafford family. dad was welcomed he started to relax and smile again , his trust in nursing staff started to change for the better. he was treated with respect dignity and compassion. family were informed of dads care every step of the way. the staff are so kind and incredibly passionate. nothing is to trouble for any off the staff. the home is warm bright and high level of cleanness is maintain day and night. dad asked for a vicar, as if by magic a vicar appeared. and the most important thing was dad never cried when family went home. that speaks volumes. thank you all for your care and respect shown to dad, and to us.
The staff are highly professional and always treat our family with dignity, kindness, and respect, keeping us informed and involved. Having visited and experienced other care homes in the past, we can honestly say we have never felt as confident or reassured leaving a loved one in care as we do here. This care home truly provides a safe, nurturing, and exceptional standard of care, and we are extremely grateful to all of the staff for all that they do.
My brother recently moved to the home. The place and staff at all levels are fantastic. The help and information provided is exceptional. All concerns related to my brother being resident in a care home have disappeared. Well done to all staff, big, big thankyou
Can highly recommend.
Mom came here from hospital for assessment in December 2023 and became a permanent resident in June last year. Mom's dementia is very advanced and her needs are complex she has a 1:1 in place to safe guard her and others. I can't thank the team at Cannock Specialist Care Centre enough for the love, care and support they give mom on a daily basis. This is the 3rd care home mom has been in and she really has struck gold , from management, to nurses, carers, activity coordinators, housekeeping, laundry, reception and maintenance each and everyone of them treat mom like one of the family. The love and care mom gets is outstanding even when she is having a difficult day and is not easy to manage. The unit mom is on, has an amazing manager that mom clearly loves which is testament to the care and compassion she shows to mom. The facilities are excellent, the activities are amazing and despite mom being unable to join in very much anymore she is always encouraged. An outstanding care home .
My dad has been here since March 2024 after being placed there to be assessed since leaving hospital in February 2024. Although he has deteriorated dramatically due to his illness, I feel the staff have done all they can to support and care for him. Lots of activities in place and a really big effort with all the key celebrations across the year. The entertainment at Christmas was really good and my mum really enjoyed it too during our visit. I ring frequently, updated with how he has been and they have good contact of any issues arise in between. He has a one to one all the time and this works as they know keeping a slight distance reduces risk if getting agitated. They spot if he needs extra help. Special mentions must go to two staff members in particular who are brilliant with him. They keep him calm; I can see that my dad really respects them. The food - really good! facilities -modern, spacious - big consideration for us - space to wander - big corridors, huge room en-suite lovely reception lounge.
My mum was discharged from hospital for assessment. Can not be more relieved that my mum was placed here. The care and support is very good. Lots of engaging and wonderful activities. Mum tells me the food is good. The staff are caring and do a great job.
My cousin had been at the care home for 12 months when he passed away on Thursday. Whilst at the care home David has received very good care, the staff have supported him even if on occasions his dementia led to him shouting at them. There were always refreshments for us when we visited and it was no trouble for us to go and make a cup of tea for him. The care on the day he died was second to none, the whole team was so supportive and kind. Thank you so much for the care you gave to our loved one.
My mum has been here for 7 weeks for assessment. The care she has received since being here has been outstanding. All staff at all levels and responsibilities are happy, friendly and kind. The management has an open-door policy and are always there to talk to the relatives. They are wonderful and extremely helpful. The laundry team and domestic staff do a great job, keeping everything looking and smelling fabulous. The home provides fabulous stimulating activities twice a day. This puts a smile on my mum's face - one that I haven't seen in previous months. She is cared for and provided for, I couldn't ask for a better place for her to be. They do it all, even the little personal touches - such as providing her with a home-baked cake, singing to her and putting a banner on her door for her birthday, these make all the difference. I will be very sad if my mum has to move from this amazing place. Thank you to everyone there for making it such a wonderful home.
My father has been at the Cannock Specialist Centre since February. Since being at the home, as a family, we have been able to take comfort in the fact that Dad is in the best place and receiving quality care. We feel listened to and empowered to make decisions in his best interests. The manager takes the time to see us and to ensure that we are happy with the care provided. The staff are thoughtful, and caring and treat Dad with dignity. Dad has significant needs with his Alzheimer's however the inclusive practice means he is involved in daily activities. A member of staff in particular you are one in a million and the residents are so lucky to have you. Dad has regained his weight with the food on offer, the nursing team has proactively engaged with his medication and has reduced them where appropriate. I cannot praise this home enough and I highly recommend it. It has given us the home-from-home feeling that we love and we are very grateful to all the staff at this beautiful home.
My dad has been a resident at this home since February this year. I am pleased to say that he settled in straight away which amazed us all as he was very unsettled before joining here. The home itself is beautiful, spacious bedrooms with kitchenettes and en-suites with lovely soft furnishings. The entertainment is on most days of the week and they do a fab job of getting the residents to take part they all seem to enjoy it and look very happy as does my dad. The carers are so lovely and look after the residents well, they are always happy when we see them, and can't fault the care and love they show my dad. Thank you so much to the management and carers here we are very grateful for what you do.
My husband has been a resident at Cannock Specialist Care Centre since February 2024. I can honestly say he has settled in well. He looks happy and has gained weight since he arrived there. I am so happy with the care he has received. The manager is always available if we have any concerns. One staff member is amazing and works hard doing activities for the residents. The carers are doing a wonderful job and are kind and caring. So far I have nothing negative to say. I am just happy we found this home for my husband. Thank you so much for everything you are doing for my husband I appreciate it.
I say 121 but they were just sat on the phone not talking to her at all. Mom was rarely dressed which is not like her at all, there were a couple of times when I got there early afternoon and she was still lying in her bed and hadn’t been washed and had her own poo in her fingernails, absolutely disgusting so I washed her. She was slowly but surely losing her identity and dignity, I was so relieved when she finally moved to her new home.
It's comforting to know that my sister is happy and well looked after and I would recommend the home to others.
My Mom has been in the care home for several months now and I could not be happier with the care she receives. All the staff are caring and have so much time/compassion for my Mom it has been very reassuring to all the family. The staff have shown patience and understanding with some of my Mom's complex needs. The environment is always clean and welcoming. The facilities are exceptional, there is everything my Mom could need. When I asked to speak with management this was actioned promptly and my questions were answered in detail and followed up.
