By far the best care home we (unfortunately) have had to use for Mum, thank you.
My father passed recently, he lived in the home for around 9 months and we can honestly say they were amazing, he had dimentia and was difficult because if it, he was so well looked after, clean, well fed, they have activites every day that he enjoyed joining in with, the bar/lobby was always clean and comfotable with soft music and home made cakes. The staff are amazing, caring, helpful, patient, everyghing you could hope for. I would give 10 stars as we know at the end he was comfortable and so well looked after. Thankyou Gainsborough for looking after my dad so well..
In September 2024, the Manager and Clinical lead at Gainsborough, rescued my Father from an awful care home in Coventry that he was discharged to for the purposes of his heath care assessment. My Dad had some challenging behaviors due to his post stroke cognitive decline. The staff at Gainsborough were so kind and caring and treated my Dad with the upmost respect and dignity and his mental and physical welfare very quickly improved. His room and surroundings were very comfortable and the staff always tried to encourage my Dad to take part in the various activities available. Unfortunately my Dad passed away in January 2025 in hospital after an operation he didnt recover from, but I will be forever grateful to all of the staff for making sure his last few months were spent in such comfort and that he was cared for with such kindness and compassion.
High praise also for the dignity she was given and which was observed throughout the home to others.
As a regular visitor, I am immediately welcomed by the staff who address me by name. The environment is light, open and inviting, I can visit at any time without restriction. Residents appear comfortable and are treated with respect and dignity, many interact easily with me despite me not knowing them personally. We often lunch downstairs, and staff are willing to accommodate requests for wheelchair use and a different lunch venue. My resident appears happy and interacts easily, staff always address him personally when passing. It is always a pleasure to visit this establishment.
We visited a number of care homes before choosing Gainsborough Hall, and feel very pleased and confident we made the right decision.
In addition, I feel that I am personally well supported by the staff and manager. Dad was only in his early 60s when he was first diagnosed with dementia and the kindness shown to me personally during this time has been invaluable.
What a fantastic care home! Every effort has been made to ensure that Dad's move went as smoothly as possible, both for him, and for his family. After four weeks he has settled into the new routine and is being encouraged to involve himself in some of the many activities which take place on the ground floor. He has a great relationship with his carers who are genuinely interested in him as an individual and take time to discuss shared interests (sport/travel) with him. He is also a big fan of the food which he says is like home-cooked food.
We’re so happy with all aspects of care and how well they look after Dad.
The nursing staff are knowledgeable and give good advice. We appreciate all their work and efforts.
All members of staff involved with her care and other needs have been excellent and I would have no hesitation in recommending Gainsborough Hall to others in a similar situation.
We are all super pleased with the care and attention provided to Mum. There is a lovely environment and a nice balance between peace and quiet and a bit of fun. The ground floor residents have regular activities to get them socialising and all of the staff we have dealt with are lovely. It is really well placed for easy access by car or bus and we had the most delightful afternoon tea with Mum on Mother's Day, all made/baked in the kitchens. All of the rooms and facilities are spacious and of a high standard and well-maintained. A great team and highly recommended based on our experiences.
My husband has recently transferred to Gainsborough from another home and the improvement has been significant. The staff are really caring and make an effort to get him up and encourage him to take part in activities. We’ve been made to feel so welcome and it’s given us such peace of mind to know he’s safe and secure. He thinks he is at a lovely hotel!
The rooms, food and activities are all second to none and I can't recommend this wonderful care home highly enough.
Thank you so much.
My mother was a resident at Gainsborough Hall for 20 months, until her passing. I could not have wished for her to have been anywhere else for this time. The care she received was excellent, she was treated with dignity and love at all times, despite her vascular dementia, while she presented with challenging behaviour, this never waived. Wherever I visited, which was frequently, at random times, she was always being cared for how I would wish her to be. The management, nursing staff, carers and ancillary staff work as a team to offer exceptional care for the residents and their families.
My father has been a permanent resident at Gainsborough Hall since September last year. He had previously been at the home for a two-week respite stay. He has dementia and a number of other complicated medical problems. The care he has received since his arrival has been outstanding. The home is extremely well led and that is reflected in the culture and morale throughout. The staff are compassionate, genuinely caring, and professional. My father is settled, happy and safe. Not only do they focus on the wellbeing of the residents but also spend time making sure relatives of residents are welcomed and supported when needed. As a purpose-built, 5-year-old building, the rooms are large and the en suite bathrooms are well equipped. Hallways all have handrails and the floors have secure keypad access. My family are hugely grateful to know that he is being so well looked after in the last stage of his life.
I would thoroughly recommend Gainsborough Hall as a care home.
We have been to see lots of care homes for Dad and nothing seemed good enough, as soon as we approached Lanesborough House I had a really good feeling. On entering the reception it was outstanding, staff are very accommodating, always smiling, and very eager to help. The rooms are absolutely fantastic. The cleanliness is second to none. We were very eager to get Dad a place. The care that my dad gets is outstanding. There is a nurse station and you have no worries that any medication that is administrated is correctly given by qualified nurses. It’s a happy, lively, and caring place and we are very very happy that they are looking after our dad. Lots of events, activities, trips out, even though Dad has dementia they never leave him out. Fantastic place.
My mother was a resident at Lanesborough House for over two years. The care provided by the staff on her unit was delivered at a very high standard and they treated Mum like their own. Initially Mum was experiencing anxiety episodes and one of the staff would sit with her for hours, reassuring her until she felt calm again. Mum was given excellent personal care and regularly had her hair done and her nails painted. She loved spending time with the animals and cuddling the rabbits. She also enjoyed watching films in the cinema room and being involved in many other activities. Her routine was always adapted to her needs each day and her care plan regularly reviewed. Nothing was too much trouble, they even arranged a private meal when I took Dad to see her on their wedding anniversary! The family were always informed of any concerns and the GP contacted if needed. We completely recommend this nursing home for excellent, personalised care.
