If anyone is ever asking what is a good care home for the elderly I will always recommend Oakmont Lodge. The facilities are of a very high standard but it is the dedication and kindness of the staff that makes this home stand out from other care homes. The staff are incredibly kind, patient and give
my Dad the time and dignity that he needs.

Everyone that works in Oakmont Lodge are friendly, approachable and always willing to go the extra mile. The entertainment is top quality and my father likes a drink so when I provide this they will let him enjoy 1 - 2 drinks on certain occasions E.G during entertainment or residents birthdays. Dad
really is enjoying his experience, which I was extremely worried about, but again staff gave me reassurance. I could not fault them on any aspect.

My mum has lived in Oakmont Lodge Care Home for over 3 years and I am very pleased with the care she receives. All of the staff provide an excellent service for my mum and she is very happy there.
I live in England and visit my mum approximately 4 times a year, I speak to mum on her mobile phone up
to 3 times a week. It's very important that I know my mum is being well looked after and I trust the staff to do this important job.
I know if I have any concerns I can phone and speak to someone in charge who will address my concerns.

My Mum has been in residential care in the Peninsula for almost two months. She transitioned here from hospital and in her words 'couldn't be happier'.
The staff, without exception, are friendly, helpful, and approachable. Mum is always treated with dignity and kindness. The staff go over and above
to meet her needs.
Any issues have been resolved in a timely manner.
The home itself is finished to a very high standard. Mum has a lovely, spacious room which is bright and clean. She particularly enjoys going out into the beautiful garden which is always very well- maintained.
There is a well-designed range of daily activities for the residents and it has been so encouraging to receive updates and photos of Mum taking part.
We are delighted with the care Mum is receiving and also very grateful for the encouragement and help to us as a family during this time of transition.

When the time came for Mum to be placed initially for respite care, we were devastated. It was a really difficult time. However, it very quickly became apparent that Mum was safe, very well cared for and treated with respect, dignity and compassion by all the Peninsula staff.
The facilities, including
bedrooms, social space and quiet space are second to none. Comfortable, homely, modern and cosy.
What sets Peninsula apart is, of course, the personnel. From our Residential Manager, to everyone working within the unit, these are people who are all genuinely concerned to help Mum adapt to her new environment. And to respond to her changing needs with compassion, understanding and kindness.
Our needs as family are treated equally with the same empathy. When we needed to be guided as to how to do things, the Manager was clear, kind, very experienced and helped us to make decisions we would have found very difficult otherwise alone. That was a great comfort.

I cannot speak highly enough of Oakmont Lodge. From the first time I met the Manager, I knew Mum would be well looked after and this has been so true.
Mum is happy and content, and I have no worries for her care. The home is warm, very comfortable, and nicely decorated. Mum also enjoys all the activities
and delicious food.
Though Mum has dementia she told me clearly this week " I love my life here and I don't want it to change".
I am so very grateful to all the staff for their care and kindness.

My mother has been a resident of The Peninsula now for 3 months and settled in wonderfully. The manager and indeed all staff are nothing less than amazing, both caring and compassionate. Alleviating all stress and worry that the family felt when having to place Mum into a care home. The manager goes
above and beyond in every way, keeping the family updated regarding Mum's wellbeing and works tirelessly to deliver care that is second to none.

Due to an emergency change in their living situation, we had to make the very difficult decision to place both of my in-laws into residential care. The Peninsula had been recommended to us and from the moment we entered the building and met with the residential manager, I knew we had found a place that
would meet our needs. The building itself, is like a 5-star hotel! The residents' rooms are all en-suite, and very well-appointed. The manager and her team have been incredible in helping my in-laws settle in, they care about making sure their needs are met, whilst safeguarding them, something we were really struggling to do in their own home. Nothing is ever too much for any of the staff I have met, they will always go out of their way to help me, even though I know my in-laws are not the only residents, I'm made to feel that they are important to the staff. The manager in particular, is amazing and has done so much to help them and us adjust to the new norm.

During my aunt's time in hospital and her need for respite care afterwards, I called Peninsula Care Home for help and advise on the availability of rooms.
I was shown around there and then by the very efficient residential manager.
I knew immediately this was the care home for my aunt.
The decor
is stunning throughout the home which makes it feel like a 5* hotel!
The staff are all lovely and friendly and couldn't do enough to help. They always keep in contact if any issues arise.
The food looks amazing and two coffee breaks a day with beautiful scones and fruit are much better than home!
My aunt has settled in really well and has made friends with other residents.
There are lots of activities for the residents to take part in from church service, school children entertaining them, bingo, birthday celebrations!
Hairdresser and podiatry also a Community Dentist.
Thank you to the manager and her amazing team for all their love, care, support and professionalism!

My husband, age 40, moved into the Peninsula in July 2024. Everything has been exceptional. From my first visit, to his transfer, to his care and support for me has been nothing short of outstanding.
I was concerned about his transfer to a new home and how it might impact on him but it was handled
with professionalism, care and attention to detail. The fact that there was a break between new residents moving in, gave the staff time to get to know his individual needs. The fact that the manager sent me a video of him the next day taking part in a music activity put my mind at ease.
From day one, The Peninsula has felt like his home. The welcome for me and family members is always warm and inviting. His medical, social and personal needs are met without hesitation. No request is too big or too small for the staff.
The staff are amazing. I am so content knowing that he is being cared for with dignity, respect and love.

My aunt has been a resident in Peninsula now for a couple of months due to a change of circumstance at home and as a social developmental decision on behalf of the family, and from the very first day she has loved it! Her words "I cannot believe I can stay here with my own beautiful room and my own
bathroom". Immediately it relieved all the family's fears as my aunt was happy and felt safe, in what I can only describe as 5-star standard accommodation.
On top of this the professionalism of the staff, their dedication to making new residents feel part of a safe community, the decor, the food, the gardens, the attention to detail, just a beautiful environment.
For me, having my aunt's best interests at heart, it's the staff, especially the residential manager, they talk to you to try and build up a portfolio of your loved one, they support them as best they can, and I have no doubt 100% that they care about every resident like it's their own family! This means more than anything.

My mum has recently moved into the residential part of this beautiful new home. I can honestly say that this is the best care home
I have seen in North Down.
It hasn’t been an easy decision deciding on the best place for Mum to go but as soon as I saw the Peninsula I could have cried. It was everything
and more that I could want for my mum.
The residential manager has been there through the whole process. Helping me prior to mum moving in, being there on arrival and continuing to support us on this new journey for us as a family.
The home itself is like a five star hotel. Lots of tastefully decorated living areas all of which have amazing views. The bedrooms (including en suite) are all beautifully decorated and spacious.
Everything has been so well thought of with a sensory room and a hair and nail bar. The dining room has a lovely relaxed feel with restaurant quality food.
All the staff are so helpful and attentive and I couldn’t ask for any better care for mum.
