Overall, the nursing home provides an excellent standard of accommodation, care, and support, and I would highly commend the dedication of the staff and management in creating such a safe, caring, and pleasant environment.

Gortachorn Residential is modern, clean and inviting. The staff are friendly,approachable and professional. The staff kept me fully informed at all times. As the care home is relatively small, it has a more homely, personal feel. My only negative experience does not relate to the care that my loved one received but rather the after care which I received once my loved one had passed away. I felt under pressure to clear the room to the point of being asked on the morning of the funeral to clear it as other people were waiting. The staff were genuine in their sympathy, but there didn't seem to be a policy in place for a representative to attend the funeral / send a card of condolence. After having a positive experience with the home, I was disappointed with the aftercare. The purely business approach detracted from my loved ones value as a person and was insensitive to my needs dealing with grief. More consideration and transparency needs to be put in place to deal better with this issue.

It is very well run ,staff are excellent and very friendly ,residents are treated with respect and supported day and night ,my uncle did not like the thought off going to the care home, but now loves it,that is down to the great people working there ,thank you

My aunt was in Hillcrest Dementia unit 10yrs,she wasn't happy moving from her own home, within a few weeks she said it was a grand place, anyone that knew her this was the highest off praise. I can only say all staff were amazing from the care, domestics and cooks. I was personally met anytime day/night with a smile from staff at the door, they were understanding due to other commitments I could appear anytime.I found them caring,kind and patient, I was updated by phone if I couldnt come in. There were plenty off activities,fun and laughter,staff really encouraged my aunt to participate. Regular music videos played in the sittingroom you could see the happiness on the residents faces.Great nutritional food was always served.The home itself was spotless.We had fantastic support during her final weeks.One member off staff even came after her days work spent precious time reminiscing about Bundoran,another kept her blessed with holy water which was important to my aunt. THANKS EVERYONE.X

I have no hesitation in heartily recommending Oakmont Lodge, it was my cousin's lucky day when she applied and there happened to be a vacancy!

All staff are very nice and friendly my uncle is very happy here and well cared for he enjoys the meals and the entertainment when there is music the home is spotlessly clean and my uncles room is very comfortable and clean

Mum was a resident in Oakmont for over a year. Following this very happy experience in the residential unit she was transferred to the Oakmont nursing unit where she passed away a short time later. Both units gave Mum amazing care, she was treated with dignity and gentleness. Her room was lovely and the food was wonderful. It should also be noted that my sister and I were supported throughout Mum's time in Oakmont, especially as her time drew too close.

I have visited my friend in the Home many times since she was admitted to the home a number of months ago. I have always found the staff to be friendly, approachable and very kind. My friend feels listened to in the home and has described her care as compassionate and respectful. She has involved herself in a number of daily activities such as bingo. She has particularly liked the spiritual events that have been organized in the home. She has never complained about any aspect of the care and likes the food. I feel that if I was to need to go into a home, then this would be the one that I would choose too.

I found the staff very caring, always open for a talk about Mum. In Mum's final days, she was treated with dignity and professional care. My sister and I alternated days, and we could visit at any time. Our family were mostly all there in her last week, and we were never intruded on and each day given updates. After a lot of guilt on my part about Mum being in care, I can honestly now look back on it and feel happy that she was in the best place for her needs with lovely people looking after her.

The Hillcrest team were an amazing support to us as a family, when mum celebrated her 100th birthday on Nov 23rd. Mum was able to invite family and friends to a tea party in the dining room. The staff decorated it beautifully and provided crockery and tables for us to use. Visitors all commented on the very welcoming atmosphere of Hillcrest. One friend said it was like being in a swanky hotel.

I highly recommend Oakmont Lodge if you are looking for a place your relative can truly call HOME.

If anyone is ever asking what is a good care home for the elderly I will always recommend Oakmont Lodge. The facilities are of a very high standard but it is the dedication and kindness of the staff that makes this home stand out from other care homes. The staff are incredibly kind, patient and give my Dad the time and dignity that he needs.

Everyone that works in Oakmont Lodge are friendly, approachable and always willing to go the extra mile. The entertainment is top quality and my father likes a drink so when I provide this they will let him enjoy 1 - 2 drinks on certain occasions E.G during entertainment or residents birthdays. Dad really is enjoying his experience, which I was extremely worried about, but again staff gave me reassurance. I could not fault them on any aspect.

My Father is a long term resident in the dementia ward of the care home. We find the home to be excellent and supportive. The staff are wonderful and show great care and compassion. The building is in good order and the rooms are very comfortable. Our father needs are catered for and we are very happy with the level of care.

I know if I have any concerns I can phone and speak to someone in charge who will address my concerns.

Oakmont is an exceptional care home. Wonderful surroundings, comfortable rooms, extremely clean and the staff will do all they can to help and make the resident feel at home.

All meals are made fresh, great variety of menus and special dietary requirements catered for.

We are delighted with the care Mum is receiving and also very grateful for the encouragement and help to us as a family during this time of transition.

I have been visiting my friend in here fo nearly two years and we both are very happy with Oakmont. One of the staff always very welcoming at reception as is all the staff whenever you meet them. The upkeep of the rooms and communal areas very good. My friend has settled in very well and is happy.

Our needs as family are treated equally with the same empathy. When we needed to be guided as to how to do things, the Manager was clear, kind, very experienced and helped us to make decisions we would have found very difficult otherwise alone. That was a great comfort.
