As a volunteer RAF association welfare officer who visited a RAF veteran for over 5 years, over two years of which was to Highcroft Care Home, I wish to commend the staff and in particular the manager for the outstanding, sensitive and 24/7 personalised care delivered to my friend in his final days
before passing. The manager was constantly with my friend at his bedside, reassuring him, ensuring he received medication when appropriate and facilitating the presence of an RAF Padre to administer the Sacraments. I have accompanied many people to their passing in my capacity as MA theology pastorally qualified. The balance between retaining lucidity and pain management was expertly administered and my friend was able to be a fully engaged active participant in the Sacraments. It was evident to me that he derived great spiritual peace and joy. I cannot commend Highcroft enough. They managed and ensured a dignified 'good' death in a familiar environment surrounded by those who loved him.

The staff are very friendly kind helpful and supportive.
I live in Ireland and when I ring they are so happy and even know my name before I say it. Daddy loves it and he loves his coffee and brandy in the morning. I can't thank the lovely staff enough for all they do for him and all the people staying
there. I love seeing the beautiful photos on your social media page.

My mum has settled in really well and is very happy. She is clean and well looked after. Mum also enjoys the interaction with the staff, the activities and loves the food. I have found the care home staff very pleasant and they treat my mum gently and with care as she is very fragile.

My Mum was transferred to Highcroft Care Home in November 2020 from a hospital. Unfortunately, this move coincided with the Covid-19 lockdown so I was unable to visit her for several months. Despite this, I soon got the impression that she was in very safe and professional hands. On one telephone call,
she managed to tell me that everybody at Highcroft Care Home had been extremely kind to her. Once the Covid-19 rules were relaxed and visiting was allowed I was able to see for myself that Highcroft Care Home is an extremely well run home with a warm atmosphere. The manager went out of her way to encourage my Mum to go downstairs for her meals and for the stimulation of some company. Plus the activities manager was always very committed, regularly playing her favourite songs and encouraged her to sing along. Highcroft Care Home really shined during the last few weeks of my mother’s life. I want to thank everyone that works there for their diligence and professionalism, but most of all for their compassion.

My Dad has only been at the home since January 2022. Since he has been there he is noticeably happier and seemingly better in himself. He looks forward to waking up each day. He enjoys speaking to other residents and participating in the activities. The staff are excellent and very friendly. My Dad
enjoys the food and it shows as he was very thin when he arrived there. He looks a lot better in himself now that he is there. So far we are very happy with his care in this care home.

Mum settled well into Highcroft Care Home - I particularly like the layout where residents sit in the lounge or conservatory and can interact with activities or just rest but also the staff are constantly either interacting with the residents or doing other duties and the residents can watch, see and
hear these - such as preparing the table for meals, hanging out and bringing in the washing - activities that they would have possibly been doing in their own homes - I feel Mum isn't on her own even if she might be in her head with dementia.

My mother has been in Highcroft Care Home for just over a year. She is currently the oldest resident and all the staff treat her with respect and care. She is extremely frail and she is treated gently and with respect. I know she likes to chat with the staff members and they always make time to sit
and talk with her. When I visit, the facilities are always clean and my mother is very safe and secure. Her bedroom is kept neat and clean and she always appears clean and well looked after. And from what I can see, the other residents appear to be clean and well looked after. The staff are always friendly and always ready to give an update on her current health. I'm very happy with the care that Mum has received since she moved in.

My Aunt has been a resident for over two years at Highcroft Care Home. The staff and very friendly and caring and make sure she has every thing she needs. They keep in contact with myself and family which we are grateful for.

I have nothing bad to say about this facility, as each time I’ve gone, I am satisfied with the treatment I have seen. My grandfather seems to like there he has managed to make a few friends. Even when I call he seems to be in good spirits the staff are amazing. I personally would definitely recommend
this care home to anyone who is looking for a safe place for their family member to stay.

My elderly neighbour whom our family become friendly with during the pandemic, has been here since May 2021. The manager and the main carer for her have been an absolute delight. All the carers I have met are friendly and all work really hard and that’s all down to the management as they strive to look
after their staff. Thank you for looking after my friend and for your continued support with social services as well.

My mum was in the Highcroft Care Home at Walthamstow. The team at the home were conscientious, caring and very professional. The attitude of the managers and staff was very caring all across the board. I never felt when I left to go home that she was not in a safe environment. Maybe my mum could have
done more activities but that was down to her. I have been in a couple of care homes with other members of my family and this is the best. My family are very grateful and would recommend this one every time.

My dad was in Highcroft for seven months until he was admitted to hospital where he died. I was extremely happy with it - the staff were absolutely wonderful - all of them. They were very, very kind to him - and to us his family. They did their best to interest him in activities, despite his reluctance!
He was always kept clean and presentable, a close eye was kept on his health and they made sure he ate properly. The food was of a high standard and his appetite improved after he moved into their care. I'm very grateful to all the staff for making my lovely dad's last months of life as pleasant as it could have been. In the ratings, the only reason I haven't given an excellent for facilities and activities is that the care home is a small one so those things are somewhat limited by that, which obviously can't be helped. In my dad's case though, it was everything he needed. I have actually already recommended Highcroft to a friend who now has her mother there.
