Upon arrival at the Sidcup care home, you'll discover seven acres of beautifully landscaped wheelchair-friendly gardens, allowing all residents to appreciate the picturesque scenery. Comprising three stunning buildings, the home accommodates 149 resident bedrooms, each equipped with en-suite wet rooms and kitchenettes.

The care home boasts fantastic on-site facilities, including a hair and beauty salon for residents who want a little TLC, bright and spacious lounges which provide a comfortable space to unwind, and a restaurant serving freshly prepared seasonal cuisine during mealtimes.

The team offer various forms of support, catering to different needs. Residential care is available for those requiring extra support with basic day-to-day activities. In contrast, the nursing care service provides a more intensive level of care for individuals with longer-term conditions, delivered by the local district nursing team. Additionally, the home offers respite care.

I think this home is great. Mum made lots of friends whilst living there. Room is very clean and comforting. There is plenty of drinks always available. When I visit my Mum, always get a hello from all the carers.

I resided alone (never felt lonely) for 25 years. Due to my age and finding it difficult to manage my house, I felt I had to have help. Now at Sunrise, I have help and support when requested. The staff is very helpful and friendly.

Happy in Sunrise, good service and enjoy the food. Generally happy with staff. When independent residents are unwell, the attitude and oversight from staff can be erring on the independent aspect of residency and not good/being a good neighbour.

Generally, the home is well kept, well appointed, warm, safe and secure. Staff numbers do vary and moral sometimes is low. Independent residents are not well looked after when they are unwell, not even on a good neighbourly basis, communication between management and family members is lacking, and reinstatement
of quarterly meetings is required.

Due to a change in our management, resident and family meetings have been restarted and are now held quarterly, with the first being on Friday 13th April. We operate an open door policy here and everyone is welcome to come and have a chat, raise questions/concerns with the management team anytime. We also have monthly community meetings which our residents may join in with.
Those living within Independent living at Sunrise of Frognal receive Independent Living - a lifestyle that can be independent of any care service apart from meals, maintenance and housekeeping services. Independent living is like living in your own home, but without the worry of maintenance, household chores or cooking. Therefore care services are generally sources externally if wanted and not here at Sunrise of Frognal. All of which is explained before and during a resident moving in with us.

Enjoy walking in the garden. Fairly happy but much nicer than being in the bungalow. Enjoy the trips on the bus. Have made lots of nice friends. Would like more activities especially singers as I love dancing. The genealogy activity was really enjoyable and was sad when it didn't happen anymore. More
mugs as cups and saucers are dangerous. Curling was enjoyable but doesn't happen anymore. Discussion groups would be good.

I find lots of things here helpful, nice friends, all try to help each other. Food can't grumble, just some things are easier than others. I find everyone helpful, as we try things together.

I have lived here for four years with my husband. I've always found staff very kind and helpful.


We both enjoyed the lovely activities and the food is very good and we always feel very safe and content in all three buildings.

I moved to Sunrise because my husband died and I was ill. I have settled in well and I join in all the activities, I choose the ones I like and enjoy them. The food is good. The housekeepers do a great job and it is very clean.
I am happy as I could be.

Hello, I’m Fiona, I entered the care sector at the age of 15, previously to this role I was a registered nurse and currently have over 30 years working within a care home setting covering residential, dementia care, mental health and nursing care.


I am passionate about all aspects of care being person-centred to ensure that residents live a fulfilling life. My main interests in care are dementia, medication and end-of-life care.

Hi, my name is Tracy, I have worked in care for the past 30 years, starting at the bottom and working my way through different roles from kitchen, and housekeeping to the care role. I have a passion for Dementia care and started with the team at Frognal House in October 2022 as the Reminiscence Coordinator. I love my job and have gained a wealth of knowledge through the years. I have an open-door policy for all family members and my team members.

Hello everyone, for most of my working life, I have worked in the social care sector, working with variable adults with learning disabilities. In my spare time, I do freelancing for a floral events company.


I took the opportunity to become an activity coordinator, where I found my true vocation later in life. I have an absolute passion for my role. My focus every day is to make the residents happy, activities are such an important part of daily living in our community. I have a great team, and we are all committed to ensuring that every resident makes the most of each day I am always open to suggestions, and if I can do it, I will.
