Special thanks to the manager and her staff for the love and care provided to my sister-in-law, who came to your home as a safeguarding measure. Her life had been miserable and without hope for a brighter future. You and your supporting colleagues have shown her great care and compassion over the last
eight months enabling her to return to independent living. You are all perfect examples of professional carers. The most important attributes each of you and your colleagues possess are ‘big hearts and kind words! You should all be very proud of yourselves for representing the care industry in such an outstanding way. My sister-in-law is eternally grateful for your friendship, and I cannot express my appreciation enough to you all for taking the pressure off me. I sensed she was in good hands from our first meeting, and you did not disappoint me. Well done, all at Sweyne Court.
Reply from Maxine Calverley, Home Manager at Sweyne CourtThank you so much for sharing your experience of the home and staff during your sister-in-law's stay with us. My husband had his first respite care after attending daycare for some months.
What can I say; they were kind, considerate and welcoming.
He loved staying there, and it has taken care of a lot of stress, as I was not sure if he would settle when, in fact, he is looking forward to his next week of
respite.
So, thank you, everyone, at Sweyne Court.

They are extremely supportive and kind to the resident's needs and reach out to local organisations to help the residents to still feel part of the community, which helps with loneliness. The staff here always go above and beyond and are always very welcoming to visitors.

My mum has been in Sweyne Court for nearly 3-years, and the care she has received has been of the highest standard. She is loved and very well looked after despite her many ailments. Since my mum has been in the care home, I have had peace of mind as she is safe, and I’m sure if it wasn’t for the hard
work of these wonderful carers, she would not be here with me today. The food, entertainment and accommodation itself are fantastic, and the support we have received throughout the Covid outbreak has been amazing. Thank you so much to all the team.

My mother-in-law resides at Sweyne Court, and the care she receives is outstanding. She recently became very ill, and one of the carers stayed 4-hours 30-minutes after her shift until she was taken by ambulance to hospital. She would have gone with her, but the paramedics could not allow this due to
Covid restrictions. Upon her return, the deputy manager stayed past his shift to ensure she was settled. All the staff are amazing and have kept us sane and up to date with our mum’s welfare through Covid. Thank you all so much.

After a long stay in hospital during lockdown last year, we made the decision to place Dad at Sweyne Court. During his time at Sweyne, my dad was well looked after and always well presented. I was kept informed of any changes to his medical conditions, and when he wasn't well, the staff kept me informed,
and it was comforting to know he had a great team looking out for him. The Facebook page is regularly updated with various activities the residents get up to, and it was always nice to see Dad pop upon them, enjoying himself. I lost my Dad recently, during his final week the staff were excellent - attentive, compassionate and maintained his dignity. They were very supportive of us too. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this home.

My dad became a resident in October 2021. This was an extremely difficult decision, but Dad's safety had to take priority. We chose Sweyne Court as he had been attending the day centre there 3-days per week and had really enjoyed it.
He took a while to settle, but the staff at Sweyne Court were so
supportive and approachable. They guided us through his early days and were always at the end of the phone.
They do lots of activities there too.
All the staff are kind and caring. As I say, it was the hardest decision ever, but I really feel that he is in safe hands
Many thanks.

Excellent care is provided in this home. It is spotlessly clean, nothing is too much trouble for the staff; they are always polite and happy to help, always with a smile on their face. Plenty of facilities and lots to keep residents occupied. My mother-in-law is always saying how happy she is in there.
If you are looking for a care home, I would thoroughly recommend this one.

Our mum has been a full-time resident for 3-years now, and we are so very grateful to all at Sweyne Court for all they do to look after her and keep her safe.
From the outset, although Mum could not fully communicate to tell us, it was very clear she was happy and comfortable at the home, and this
has only continued to be the case. She’s calm and at ease with everyone.
The team really do a fantastic job, and every time we visit, we can always see the genuine care and love they give to all residents - this was especially important during the peak of Covid when we could not visit for so many months - the home did all they could to keep us connected, coming up with ingenious ideas for interaction, which helped us, as a family, through the toughness of not being able to physically be with Mum.
Thank you doesn’t really come close to the appreciation we have.

We were thankful that we were able to face and overcome some of the challenges that it brought to us and continue to do so, which was achievable with the continued understanding and support of residents families and the wider support network.

Mum unexpectedly deteriorated, and it was necessary for her to move into a 24-hour care accommodation.
After looking around the area and reviewing a number of homes, we decided on Sweyne Court.
If I’ve made any correct calls in my life under heartbreaking circumstances, this by far is the best one.
Sweyne Court and all the staff have embraced my mum and our family as if we were their own. My heart is partly repaired thanks to Sweyne Court.

Whenever I visit my mum, the care staff are always very friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff, and they show genuine care and understanding of what my mum needs in terms of care or just companionship.
My mum suffers from dementia, and sometimes she can be a little bit stroppy,
but the carers just take it in their stride.
The seniors are always happy to answer any of my questions about Mum's care and her day to day living, for example, how she is eating and sleeping.
I'm made to feel comfortable and at ease when I visit, which makes it a nice experience for myself and my mum, and even with all the challenges that Covid has created, the staff are dealing with it really well.
I follow Sweyne Court on their Facebook page, so even when I cannot get to visit Mum, I can still see photos of her and the activities that she is taking part in within the home environment. It’s a lovely way for us relatives to see what our loved ones are getting up to.

Current Review Score: 10.0 (9.952)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 10 (9.952) out of 10 for Sweyne Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 31 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 31 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.952 for Sweyne Court is calculated as follows: ( (354 Excellents x 5) + (18 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 372 Ratings = 4.952
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Sweyne Court is based on 31 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 43 registered maximum number of service users is 8.6, which has been reached with 31 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
