My mother died in the care home in September. I was impressed with the level of care and concern shown to her, and the genuine sadness of staff when she died. Our family were welcomed and cared for as we gathered there. My father is also a resident, and it is clear that the staff know him and his foibles well. He is very happy in the home, and particularly enjoys the activities organised by a wonderful volunteer there. My parents were happy there together, and my father remains happy and well cared for.
The staff at the home always greet you with a smile and welcome. They show care and support. The home is clean and bright. Food very good. There are activities always going on and the residents are taken out for lunch or afternoon tea. Staff have made the feeling there homely.
Mum has been at Havenfore for just over 3 months. Her welcome and support in adapting to her new home and circumstances has been exemplary at a very unsettling time for her. Staff have been professional, friendly and sincere in their care and attention to her social, mental and physical health needs. The food, always a highlight, is just that! Activities are varied and enthusiastically run, when Mum can be persuaded - but not pursued if she just wants to relax in her room. Mum is registered severely sight impaired and confused at times.
Excellent place, very homely. Care staff very good and attentive to residents. Many activities. Food good. Very clean.
They have weekly outings varying from Southend seafront to pub lunches, picnics in the park etc, regular entertainment and parties to celebrate their birthdays and sing songs.
Dementia means they often forget about their trips, birthday parties and other events but their mood is certainly better. My dad is laughing every time I visit and very happy there.
A very welcoming home. Relaxed and a very happy home. All staff from carer to cleaner/cook and handyman are really kind helpful people. My father and mother are both so settled and happy. My father is very fond of a couple of the carers, his favourites, which suggests to me that they are very kind and patient with him. It is also so lovely that the home takes the residents out to the seafront and other little trips every month. Every resident is thrown a big party on their birthday! Brilliant.
Havengore House is a very good care home, the staff are very caring, kind, helpful and supportive to the resident and their families. While my relative was living at Havengore she was very happy, enjoyed her food, loved the staff, the management, and the entertainment lady. The home is quiet, tranquil and very relaxed. All residents are encouraged to join in with games and activities if they want too. The staff work hard to maintain care standards.
My brother was cared for in a very professional way during his last month before he passed away. He was treated with great care and dignity and remained in a happy disposition throughout. He was completely at peace during the very last days at the home.
We were informed promptly when her health deteriorated and she was taken to hospital.
When we visited the manager and staff made us very welcome.
He was at times a very grumpy old man - but that did not deter them from their caring. He was highly grateful for their care and I could not ask for more. He left life peacefully, in the home, full of affection for the staff of Havengore House.
I found Havengore House to be the right home for my mum with her condition. Found the management and staff excellent and nothing was too much trouble. I was very glad that I found this care home as it was the best place for her to be as her care was second to none.
Always found Havengore clean and tidy, staff are very caring and friendly. Residents always seemed happy and well presented. My mother always looked forward to hairdressing and nail days, she never complained about the food and always said she slept well.
We searched dozens of care homes looking for somewhere with caring staff to transfer Mum to and found this at Havengore. Always uplifting the staff cared for Mum through the final stages of dementia with a hardworking, cheerful competence and a kind attitude. Mum was always dressed nicely and her hair and nails groomed. Mum enjoyed the good food and the House is clean and fresh if a little dated. But Mum was happy here and we were happy with the care she received and the staff kept us informed at every stage of Mum's stay, taking her to hospital appointments and arranging doctors to come and see Mum as soon as the necessity arose.
My dad enjoyed his stay at this care home and was very well looked after. From the time of his stay in March until he passed away in July he grew very fond of all the staff.
My dad loved his food so he totally enjoyed the homemade cooked food which was excellent and there was always plenty of it. If he was too tired and unable to eat the food when dished up, staff would save it for him for later so he never missed out. They would help feed him if he was too poorly to eat himself.
My Dad’s room was comfortable and always kept clean.
I would definitely recommend Havengore Care Home to anybody, especially if someone has Dementia or Alzheimer's.
I needed respite care for my elderly mum, I was very impressed with the care she received in Havengore House. The staff were friendly, kind and patient with all of mums needs. It was also reasonably priced. The gardens were lovely, well kept and it felt a happy, homely residence. Activities were excellent which mum enjoyed immensely.
Manageress and staff are very friendly helpful and caring. They held Christmas and summer parties which were good fun for the residents. They always kept us informed of the health of my mother. I always felt it was a safe and secure environment.
Her accommodation was very comfortable, clean and the food was excellent.
l can't fault the care she got until the end. This home should be commended for the staff and management for their dedicated hard work as it can't be easy.
Always good home made food and plenty of it to.
Rooms comfortable and always kept clean, nice garden if residents or relatives want to sit out. My aunt enjoyed the company of the staff and always liked having little chats.
My elderly auntie was here for nearly two years before passing away recently. She changed for the better as soon as she arrived, and loved the banter with the staff. The staff are very friendly and she was given good care and understanding from them. The manager and carers are faultless and cope well with the demanding job. Mealtimes are regular and have good home made food. The rooms always looked clean and comfortable. I'm glad she went to Havengore for her last two years, as she was much happier with the companionship.
We were immediately contacted if there were concerns and felt able to contact them if we needed information.
My sister was insulin diabetic and suffered with Rheumatoid Arthritis and her medical needs were always met.
