My elderly aunt came to stay at Havengore House at a time when she was very distraught as her husband had recently passed away and he'd been her carer. The level of care and support, both physical and emotional, that she received was wonderful. She was particular about her diet as she was a diabetic and for many years had controlled this through diet alone, the home were very understanding of her whims around food. The staff were always very welcoming and helpful when we came to visit. Although she was only in the home 16 months before passing away herself, by the end she was very happy here and was well-liked by the staff and other residents.
Unfortunately, our father didn't get long at home as he was only there 8 days. Both my brother and myself liked the home very much but didn't get the full experience of performance.
The staff were amazing too, care and attention was never a problem and the staff would listen to you, and if it was possible, it was done. So yes, I would recommend Havengore house for elderly people, my dad's experience was lovely. Thank you so much.
My dear friend was a resident at Havengore for just under a year and was very well looked after by everyone there. The Manager and her team are very welcoming and my friend didn't want for anything. I cannot fault anything at this home, the staff are friendly, caring and attentive. The rooms are clean and well maintained. I could not have found a better place or better people to care for my friend in the last year of her life, thank you.
I found Havengore House to be a safe and comfortable place with staff who really cared for the resident's needs and always made you feel welcome. My Mum was a resident for 3 years and was very happy. I knew whenever I left her that she was in safe hands and I didn't have to worry. The care that was given towards the end of Mum's life, I couldn't have wished for better. I would highly recommend Havengore House.
My mother spent her last two weeks at Havengore House. The care and compassion provided by the staff were outstanding both towards my mother and our family. The atmosphere is so positive and all residents seem happy and involved in a really good range of activities which mum would have enjoyed had she been there longer. Having had a dreadful experience in another care home, we are so grateful that mum moved to Havengore House.
My Aunt was suffering from Vascular dementia when she entered the house 18 months before her death. The staff showed her kindness and understanding and dealt well with her mood swings and confusion. Despite being in her nineties, she was still a very active lady and found it difficult to come to terms with having so little to do at times, but the staff let her help with washing-up and other small jobs to help her feel more at home. Up until her last few weeks, she enjoyed her food and the meals always seemed well cooked and substantial. At the end of her life, she was cared for with compassion and dignity. I would definitely recommend Havengore House to anyone considering going there.
After my father's last visit to hospital we knew it was only a matter of time before he passed away. He was in the latter stages of dementia and on the last downhill slope. The staff were excellent, showing real care and compassion for my father. We couldn't have wished for better care in his last few days. I would certainly recommend Havengore House to anyone hoping to get good quality care for an ageing loved one.
My mother resided in Havengore House for 2 yrs and five months. Over this period she was very happy and content with her surroundings. All care homes are only as good as the staff employed and the management and owners of the property are always on hand and aware of all facets of the home. There is nothing posh about Havengore House but there is a homely feel about the place which makes the patrons feel comfortable.
There are lots of activities organised throughout the week and relatives are encouraged to join in if they wish. I can visit whenever I and the staff make me feel like a part of the family too.
Old fashioned but that is what old folk relate to.
I have made countless unannounced visits and never found anything to worry about.
Our mother was very poorly with cancer and in the end with advanced dementia. She spent 6 weeks at Havengore House and she was very happy to be there. We thank all the staff there who helped her in her end of days. We were all very happy with the staff who helped her.
In 2012 we brought my father up from a home in Kent. The reason being that my mother was finding it difficult being on her own. After quite a long search we found the above care home for dad and it really stood out from all we had seen. They were very happy to show us around and we were impressed right away with their friendly attitude. The cleanliness and the general good feeling we had about the home overall. Dad seemed to settle very well and in the early period he was always in the company of the other residents and had a good relationship with the carers. In the last few months of his life the dementia deteriorated and he was unable to manage his food alone and had to be fed by carers. This worked very well and we were impressed with their patience and caring ways.
From the first time I visited Havengore House I knew what a caring home it would be for my mum. Each resident was made to feel special, they catered for mums individual needs and nothing was too much trouble. I cannot fault this home. It's what all care homes should strive to be like.
My mother was at Havengore House for 14 months. I visited many homes before deciding on Havngore House. As soon as I walked in the door I knew this would be the place I would like my mother to live. I spent many full days at Havengore and was able to see the constant respect and loving care given to the residents. My mothers room was very pleasant and always very clean. The in-house prepared food is very good. Management was very professional and attentive.
A really homely place. A lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. From mum's late arrival at 10:30pm (thanks to hospital transport!) she was treated with respect and cared for well. visiting is welcome anytime and staff ring if there are any concerns. Her stay was brief but I was confident she was cared fro. The cats make it a home from home a lovely touch.
My mother was in the home for two and a half years and in that time she was treated with dignity, loving, caring and nothing was too much trouble. Home cooked food was excellent and met her requirements. I visited daily and on no occasion did I witness any wrong doing. In my opinion this is an extremely good care home and I have nothing but praise.
We found Havengore House to be a very pleasant, homely, relaxed place for our mum. Nothing was too much trouble. The care she received was excellent, lots of entertainment, days out, hairdresser and chiropodist all visited regularly. The room was spotless and bed changed regularly. Staff were thoughtful and had compassion and empathy with residents and their families. When mum was poorly they made sure she has the best care possible. It was a hard decision to put mum in a home, but we were always pleased with our choice of Havengore House.
My Mum was in Havengore for two and a half years and it is a really lovely home from home with excellent care. The owner was always helpful and the manager so kind, supportive and caring, as were her staff, that I could relax and know that Mum couldn't be anywhere better. As Mum's dementia progressed and she became very poorly, the time and attention they gave Mum was more than I could have hoped for and I was always kept informed of any problems and knew that a doctor would always be called when necessary. I thoroughly recommend Havengore and will miss my visits there. Thank you.
