I was extremely impressed with the care facilities at Villa Scalabrini today. The staff were in abundance and were very on hand. They were also very helpful and friendly. The care home was so clean that is shone like a new pin. I visited my friend in the communal tv area which was also very comfortable. A great place.
My aunt was a resident in the Villa from May 2015 until she passed away in August. Her treatment was excellent. All the staff without exception were very caring. They always had a smile and words of welcome and encouragement. My aunt felt very much at home and enjoyed the facilities and the activities offered by the Villa until April of this year when she suffered a severe stroke. Her personality changed and her behaviour could be trying but everyone continued to treat her with the greatest care, love and respect. As a regular visitor, I always felt at home and welcome. The accommodation was simple but clean, light and airy. Going there was like entering a family environment.
They possess a team of caring and dedicated staff who perform to the highest professional standards.
Plenty of activities, even a market in summer.
Friendly staff, always welcomed by all.
Safety first class.
It is clear that all the staff genuinely care for the residents. They are looked after wonderfully. My mother is always immaculately dressed and turned out and the attention to detail in all they do is wonderful.
The parties, music and activities that are organised add to the happiness of the residents and the atmosphere is always welcoming.
I really enjoyed sitting outside when the sunshine finally showed itself, the patio with all its flowers and plants is an added bonus.
Thank you for this wonderful loving environment.
Villa Scalabrini is a lovely care home plenty of activities, even a market in summer, friendly staff, always welcomed by all safety first class.
This is an acknowledgement of the outstanding care and support my father received in his final days at Villa Scalabrini. I also wish to document the superb end of life care provided by Villa Scalabrini. My father died on 10th March 2018. I chose to stay close to him day and night. Without the staff’s compassion, empathy, understanding and support, I would not have been able to get through the week as the whole process was truly awful. Dad was treated with great dignity and respect. Daily, the staff washed and changed him, shaved him and talked to him as they normally would have done. The Management Team visited daily to ensure that all our needs were catered for. When the doctor gave us the option of hospitalising Dad for end of life, it was only right and fitting that he should remain in his ‘home’ where he was loved and cared for in a very personal way. Apart from caring for Dad, the staff ensured that our needs were met too. We cannot thank them enough.
My mother became a resident of Villa Scalabrini (VS) in Nov 2017 following diagnosis of an incurable brain tumour. From day 1, mum was made to feel welcomed and treated with respect. At all times, the care mum received was outstanding, never more so than in the last month when she became very frail and unable to do anything independently. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and she was cared for in a way which enabled her to maintain her dignity until the very end. We consider ourselves blessed that VS had space for mum when she needed it and that she was able to spend her final months in an environment where she was safe, comfortable and cared for with love.
The staff are very caring and always make sure mum is well dressed and well kept.
They arrange birthday parties and ensure mum attends the daily activities including mass.
The home meets all my mother's needs of daily living and they are always polite, pleasant and welcoming to visitors/relatives.
I have been very, very happy here and everybody is fantastic.
The level of care was incredible.
It was so personal as though tailored for him.
He loved his personalised room but most of all the interaction with the carers.
Nothing was too much and especially the way difficulties were handled.
Also the interaction with the family.
We were astounded. Five stars. Priceless.
I am so glad we transferred my mother to this home and wish we had done it sooner, She had been in 2 care homes prior to coming to Villa Scalabrini in November 2017. The care, staff, atmosphere are second to none. Not only am I happy with the way my mother has settled in and is being looked after, it provides peace of mind for the family to know she is in a healthy, nurturing environment. Keep up the good work!
Villa Scalabrini provides exceptional tailored care 365 days per year - without reduction of any levels of care. Residents maintain their dignity - at all times.
Mum is finally happy after two years of being miserable and very depressed. The staff are very friendly, caring, attentive and affectionate - just what mum needed. Wish I had taken her there sooner! My husband was so pleased to see her happy, smiling and having fun again.
My mother sadly passed away in November having been at Villa Scalabrini for the last 3 years. She was wonderfully looked after by the staff there. They were extremely kind and caring, and incredibly patient with her, particularly given she suffered from Alzheimer's. We are very grateful to all the staff and management there for having made her last few years as pleasant as they could be.
Mum passed away in September. They could not have been kinder. She was in hospital for a few days before she died and management went to see her. Mums passing has been so much easier knowing that she was happy in the home.
There are plenty of activities to keep my aunt stimulated.
I highly recommend this home.
From February 2009 until November 2016 my Mother always received the care she needed. Carers spend much time interacting with residents. Group activities help generate a more stimulating environment. Considerable resources were invested in upgrading the internal and external environment, especially for residents with dementia. The home was always clean. Visitors are always welcome, subject to safety and security. Family members are encouraged to raise any concerns and suggestions with the home’s management.
There was an ongoing programme of staff development, including dementia care. Throughout Mother’s stay the caring attitude of staff was impressive. The home has a low staff turnover rate and many staff were present during Mother’s stay.During her final days, Mother was treated with the utmost sensitivity. The staff showed care, respect and compassion which helped family members achieve closure.
Thank you
Excellent residential home. My father was admitted this January and the standard of resident care is excellent. Cleanliness is outstanding and the food superb. The rooms are nice and always fresh. My father is treated so well. I am extremely pleased and feel totally at ease that he is constantly being well cared for.
My nonna has been at Villa Scalabrini for a very long time now, and in all the years we have found them to be caring and compassionate towards her and the other tenants we have seen. They have taken excellent care of my nonna and do such a wonderful job of looking after her. I would highly recommend Villa Scalabrini!
