My mother spent her last 2.5 years in this care home. The staff were wonderful, from manager to cook. Many staff have been employed for many years, and their empathy and professionalism was fantastic. No agency staff, so consistency was constant. There was a homely/family feel to the home with no 'corporate' management atmosphere. My mother was very happy throughout her residence. Well done to all staff and owners.

My best friend was like a mum to me, so it was really important that she was happy when she had to go into a home. Hanningfield was the perfect place for her. The management and staff treated her with dignity and respect. Everyone there is so friendly, and it has a safe family feel. I would highly recommend this lovely retirement care home, where I was always welcome and enjoyed visiting weekly.

Staff are professional and caring and treated my mum with respect. Many staff have worked at Hanningfield for many years and know the residents well. Staff turnover is low and no agency staff are used. Owners and management are hands on. I was kept informed of any health concerns. We were always made welcome & it felt like extended family. Couldn't have wished for anywhere better for my mum to spend her final couple of years.

As a family, we were kept well informed about our mother's health and wellbeing, including phone calls from nursing staff regarding changes in her condition or medication. Being a family-run home really showed, with many familiar staff present throughout her stay. We are very grateful for the kindness and dignity she received.

Excellent care , lovely staff. My mum could be a bit trying at times, but everyone was so patient with her. The staff went out of their way to make everyone feel at home. They were also very good at keeping in touch with us It's not a luxury care home, but for us, the standard of care is what counted.

Even towards the end of Mum's life the love and care never faded. I thank each and every member of the team from the bottom of my heart for all the love and care you gave to my mum.

From the day that I first viewed Hanningfield in 2021 for our precious mum, I believed that she would be very happy here. Mum took up residence in February 2022, following a period of social isolation she quickly became herself again, safe, happy, contented, singing and she even regained her appetite. She was so well cared for in every aspect with complete dignity and kindness and treated just like one of the family. Mum could join in with activities or spend time in the comfort of her own room, the choice was entirely hers, she constantly reported: "This is a good place to be". Staff were always courteous and telephone communication was excellent. As a family, we cannot recommend Hanningfield more highly. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts.

We, my father's family cannot thank them enough.

My mother spent eight weeks at Hanningfield to enable her to return home after a hospital stay. As a family, we were so grateful to the team for providing a happy, secure and positive environment for our mum. The personal care and compassion received were of a very good standard. The rooms and building looked tied in some areas, but what really matters is the care. Areas for improvement are food (not enough home-cooked or food quality ingredients).

Since my mum has gone into this care home, she is kept clean, well-fed, she seems to have settled in very well, the manager and staff are all polite, helpful and friendly. I would not hesitate to recommend this care home to other people.

From my family and myself, we just want to say ‘thank you’. We will always put Hanningfield as our first choice when Mum has to have respite care in the future.

My father went into Hanningfield Retirement Home in March 2018. He was always kept well groomed, clan and felt happy/settled in his new surroundings. Hanningfield keep their residents entertained with a variety of in-house activities and employ the services of musicians for musical activities. This care home focuses on 'care' and not cosmetical, modern building and equipment upgrades. What they have is, indeed, sufficient to meet the residents daily needs. It is a very 'homely' environment. My father's palliative care needs were treated with utmost sensitivity. Our family were always kept well informed of changes in my fathers health. I visited my aunt at this care home and it was lovely to see her so happy and well cared for. This is a lovely place and has a real family atmosphere.

This care home is the best residential home in this area in my opinion. I have recently had experience of all aspects whilst visiting one of my previous clients. I have recommended this home to many people. Excellent care provided by professional well-trained staff who are motivated, polite and the most caring staff I have met. The owners put the care of the residents before everything and provide a happy family environment.

How likely would you be to recommend Hanningfield Retirement Home? Extremely Likely

It may not be the most modern of places but the care and attention are second to none and that is more important to me for my mother than decor and soft furnishings!

My nan was a resident for a short period of time, but in that time she was well looked after and cared for. The manager, staff and owners were understanding, friendly and always had time for me to have a shoulder to cry on or a cuddle.
