Overall Experience

My family has been incredibly impressed by the compassionate care given by the entire Tralee staff to my elderly brother and to every resident. They respect the wishes of each individual, but are alert to the early signs of discomfort and recognise significant changes in well-being. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff who are kind, cheerful and seemed always to have a welcoming smile for visiting relatives. In the absence of visits, we phone for news of my brother and are greeted with that same friendliness. When it has been necessary, communication from Tralee about him (e.g. an illness) has been given with sympathy and without fuss. We have seen on Facebook some amazingly innovative activities to sustain mental welfare in these challenging times. It is quite clear that the residents enjoy themselves, as do the staff! Credit must be given to the manager for her forward-thinking/planning and the leadership she gives to the staff in every department. Thank you, Tralee!

Thank you so much for your review. It is with the support of relatives and loved ones, like you, that have made the last 12-months easier. Although it's been tough, at times, we have managed to stay Covid-Free.

My brother has been at Tralee for nearly two years, and I am so pleased that we were able to get him into this home. The staff are constantly coming up with great ideas to entertain the residents, to get them participating in a number of activities including painting and cooking as well as mind games like bingo and quizzes. They also keep the residents active with some exercises and fun activities like dancing. If it is a residents birthday, there is always a cake and singing happy birthday. Other special days are recognised such as Burns Night, Halloween. The staff are happy to dress up and do quite ridiculous things to entertain the residents.

What else can I say, we are just so pleased that my brother is cared for by these very special people. They have been especially great during Covid restrictions with no covid related illnesses at all.

Thank you for your kind words. The staff are very dedicated to the residents and the home, and I think that shows in the pictures and videos that we post.

My dad initially went to Tralee for respite; he is now a full-time resident. He has severe vascular dementia. His life has grown in ways that we never thought possible, thanks to the manager and her dedicated staff. Life at Tralee is fun and stimulating, and my dad is a prime example of their excellent work.

The care that my husband receives at Tralee is outstanding. Although at the moment visits are difficult and sometimes not able to go ahead at all, my consolation is that he is getting such good care from all the staff. I am kept up to date with photos and videos, and the manager has set up a WhatsApp group for next of kin to keep us informed; I even had reassurance from her on a Saturday evening when I was concerned.

The residents are kept entertained with an endless variety of activities, they’ve celebrated, danced, sung and crafted through these difficult times, and I feel grateful that my husband is with such lovely, kind people.

Since my mother-in-law moved into Tralee earlier this year the manager and her staff have gone out of their way to make her feel welcome and to keep us involved in her care. My mother-in-law appears much happier and settled than she was prior to her moving in. The staff are so caring and there is a lovely atmosphere in the home. Staff have a good knowledge of the resident’s life history and hobbies, they use this to plan a wide range of activities and have kept the residents well entertained during the lockdown. I would not hesitate to recommend Tralee to anyone looking to move into a care home.

For eighteen months, Tralee was Nanny’s home. During that time, we all became part of the Tralee family, and there’s no better word for the staff - the compassion and care is all the greater because it’s delivered with genuine love.
It’s a happy home - every day is full of stimulating and fun activities, and the staff are kindness itself.

I would recommend Tralee without hesitation.

Thank you, Kelly. Your Nan was with us a relatively short time but we loved her, and of course, you all became our extended family.

My mother has received excellent attention since her arrival at Tralee Rest Home in January, when at the time she had certain health issues which caused concern, however, with the highly capable manage together with her team, these issues were acted upon extremely quickly and the necessary treatments given or recommended. Overall the staff are always kind and patient and friendly in all situations.
The standard of food and drink cannot be faulted either in its variety or content.

I think that the cleanliness and warmth of the home make it a welcoming environment for patients and visitors alike.

The trauma of placing a loved one into a care home is a devastating experience but Tralee has gone that extra mile on so many occasions. The guvnor, as my dad calls her, is the best and her staff are brilliant in the care and love they give the inmates, as my dad calls them. I am sure we will have hiccups along the way but I am also certain that they will be dealt with efficiently and with kindness, care and love. A big, big thank you.

I moved in, in February 2018. I have enjoyed every second of it. I have decorated my room exactly how I liked it. My sister visits often and is made to feel very welcome. The staff are excellent and always up for a sing-song. I complained that my Zimmer was boring so they decorated it and even put a glitterball on it because I love to dance. I am so happy that I found Tralee, it is my home from home.

My husband has been a resident of Tralee care home for 5 months now, and in that time he has been treated with care and compassion. That care and compassion has also been extended to myself. There is a wonderful family feel to the home. I would recommend the home to anyone without reservation. All the staff work very hard and keep a friendly, approachable attitude at all times.

I feel very fortunate that my husband and I found Tralee.

All staff are very kind and have lots of patience. Staff are very obliging. We can walk around the home and go to my mother's room when I want to. When I phone, its never too much trouble to answer my questions about my Mum. Nothing seems too much bother. My Mum appears to be settled and enjoys the interaction from staff and fellow residents. The Manager is around for us to talk to and has made my mother's transition into a care home a good experience.

We are very lucky to have found such a wonderful home for my Mother where the staff are so engaging and kind. This afternoon was yet another opportunity for music, singing and dancing, a real party atmosphere, this followed by party food. This afternoon was in support of a Cancer Charity when Staff, Clients and Visitors dressed in Pink including pink wigs. The staff worked so hard to make sure that everyone had a really happy and good time. We were all encouraged to join in and it was so wonderful to witness this. Thank you.

Since my grandad moved to Tralee he has made friends and has become a lot more sociable. I was worried about dementia because you only hear the bad things, but Tralee is a lively, happy place and the staff answer any questions that I have. I am impressed with the improvement in my Grandad. He now has a purpose in life. He even helps the handyman with little jobs. I can't find any faults. I enjoy visiting Tralee.
