The friendliest and most caring of staff, they always have time for a chat with Auntie, hold her hand and give her a kiss. This means a lot to her and to us.
Tynwald became my mum's home for just over a year. During her time there I felt very reassured by the care not only my mum received, but by the care I received.
There are many things I could write - but they would all be about the things we would expect from a care home.
The really important things to say here is that the medical care was excellent. Additionally, that the communication about mum and her medical care was excellent.
I have no doubt that mum was well cared for, but the comfort it gave me to know that I was cared about really made a big difference. We were looked after as a family. Priceless. Thank you.
Thankyou for choosing Tynwald to be your mums home.
My mum has been resident in Tynwald for 9 months and is happy with her choice. Ideally she would like en-suite facilities but the caring, patient staff more than make up for this. Nothing is too much trouble. Activities are always relevant to residents and mum looks forward to these particularly craft. I have no hesitation in recommending Tynwald as a 'home from home'.
Thankyou for reviewing Tynwald, all reviews are very important to us.
My aunt moved into Tynwald on October 1st 2025. From the very onset my experience of Tynwald and it's staff have been nothing but positive. Her room had been freshly decorated and every effort was made to ensure she felt welcome and 'at home'. Everyone is friendly, helpful and courteous and nothing is too much trouble. The meals are fresh and wholesome and hot! From her daily care to her medication all is provided with respect and efficiency.
Many thanks for your kind review, we are very proud of our staff they work very hard to ensure each resident lives at Tynwald are fulfilled, dignity and respect is maintained at all times.
From my initial visit to make arrangements for M to have respite, to the respite stay and on to full time residency I cannot fault Tynwald. I am delighted with how well M has been welcomed into the community and to watch how much better, in all ways, she is becoming I cannot praise Tynwald enough. Thank you.
Thankyou for your review, we are so pleased that M has chosen Tynwald as her new home.
Thank you to all of the team at Tynwald.
Anne.
Many thanks for your kind review, we're very pleased that your brother enjoys living at Tynwald.
My overall experience of Tynwald was very good I found the staff and management very helpful and extremely kind. Always available for any queries or questions I might need clarification on. Their kindness was much appreciated.
Many Thanks for your kind words, we always strive to do our best. To make Tynwald home from home.
My painfully shy mum attended for lunch every Friday for just over a year. It was a slow process of "getting to know the staff and residents".
Due to unforeseen circumstances mum recently had to stay for a respite break.
I was reassured to know that mum would stay in a care home where the staff are warm, friendly and respectful towards the residents.
Mum enjoyed her respite stay so much, that she now looks forward to spending 3 days a week with her friends in Tynwald. I am happy that mum is having fun whilst I get regular breaks from my caring responsibilities.
Thank you Manager and the Team.
We are so pleased we can support you both. Mum first started off very shy, now she is enjoying her time at Tynwald mixing with others and joining in activities. Its a pleasure to have mum join us at Tynwald. Thankyou for your kind words.
Tynwald, today, made my dad feel so special! It was his 94th birthday and they put on a high tea with so many treats and delights, all beautifully presented on tables decorated with flowers and bone china and books tied with ribbons. A delicious birthday cake and with all his friends from Tynwald sharing his tea, he couldn't have asked for anything more. He has been treated with the greatest respect, and is so cared for, we couldn't ask for more. Thanks, Tynwald.
Thankyou so much for your kind review, we are so pleased you and your father enjoyed his special day.
Staff are excellent, all other aspects are 'good'.
Many Thanks for your review, we are very proud of all our staff and our home.
We are so happy our mum is being cared for at Tynwald, all the staff are so lovely towards her and the activities she enjoys every day are amazing. She seems very happy where she is and is cared for and that's all we can ask for.
Many Thanks for your kind words, we are so proud of our staff, with the care they provide to our residents. Knowing that the residents relatives are happy is extremely important to us.
Having mum start with day care at Tynwald Residential Home was so helpful. When the time came for mum to settle into residential care she was already very familiar with her surroundings. Every time I visit I am humbled by the dedication and love and kindness shown to my lovely mum. This would be my first choice. kind staff, spotlessly clean, good food loads of activities.
Many thanks for your lovely review. We are so proud of our home and knowing that the residents are happy is extremely important to us.
I came to Tynwald to be with Mum for an afternoon of entertainment and high tea. The atmosphere was terrific with a singer and with the residents joining in. The staff are fantastic, and the food was great. I'm so pleased Mum is in this lovely home where she is so well looked after. Every time I visit, Tynwald, it's always a pleasure, because everyone is so welcoming.
We are so pleased everybody had a great day, and the weather was kind to us all. It was so nice to see all the residents, their relatives and friends enjoying themselves. We are looking forward to the next one. It's so nice to have such positive feedback. Thank you.
My aunt came here in mid-April. She took a little time to settle in. The food is varied and nourishing. All the staff are helpful and friendly and all have empathy with the residents. Nothing is too much trouble. Everywhere is spotlessly clean and comfortable. Visitors are welcomed with meal hospitality. Many activities and entertainment. The garden is superb when I visit my aunt we sit outside with a cup of tea and biscuits and it is very relaxing. I cannot think of even one improvement that could be made. All sounds too good to be true but it surely is.
Thank you so much for your very kind review, we are very proud of our home, our staff to ensure our residents have a high standard of care, with dignity and respect at all times. Providing an excellent standard of care is always our goal.
All the staff were very dedicated and their kindness will not be forgotten. My sister enjoyed the activities and the variety of food available, they celebrated events not just Christmas and Easter, but Wimbledon and Valentine's Day, making it fun for the residents.
Thank you for your very kind review, we are very proud of our staff in the home, and the care the staff delivers. Your kind words are very much greatly appreciated. We thank you for choosing Tynwald as the home for your sister, we will miss both her and you.
Respite stay for one month. Although the building and facilities are a little 'dated', now this is more than made up for by the staff who were kind, caring, respectful and efficient. Nothing was too much trouble and this applied to visitors as well as residents. I felt my mother's health and welfare were a priority and I felt she was in a safe and caring environment. Thank you.
Thank you for your kind review, we hope to see you at our upcoming events, You are more than welcome to join our day care service. Please pop in for a coffee when you are passing, it will be lovely to see you.
They are all too pleased to help you, coffee, drinks and biscuits are always offered.
What a lovely place and lovely food throughout.
Thank you for everything.
Thank you for your kind review; it was a great pleasure to look after your mother and get to know you and your family.
A nursing home can often feel clinical and alien, not like a home at all. Tynwald is an exception to this, the warm care and energy you feel when you walk through the door is second to that only of your own family home. The staff's personality shines through at every opportunity and the thought they put into every character in the home reflects in how happy and comfortable every resident looks and feels. I wouldn't want my grandmother anywhere else.
Thank you for reviewing Tynwald Residential Home we are so pleased that your grandmother is living with us all at Tynwald. As you say we work hard to ensure that we have a family feel and that you also feel welcomed. We are proud of our home and our staff it is always fantastic to hear that we are making a positive impact, from all of us. Thank you.
Since my stepmum was accepted for respite care (from hospital) I cannot fault the management team. Since my very first phone call with the manager, it has been super well organised. Nothing is too much trouble (with my endless questions) and are always happy to help and advise. The staff are exceptional too and it's like a home from home. Thank you.
Thank you very much for the positive review of Tynwald and the Tynwald staff we are proud of our home and environment and are always happy to help. Thank you for taking the time to review us. There are never too many questions good communication is the key to success and helps us to improve our service.
On behalf of my husband's week of respite. He really enjoys going to Tynwald, everyone is so cheerful and caring and he can not wait to go back for a third time.
Thank you for your review. We look forward to seeing you both soon.
