The care in Ridgeway Manor is really good. The staff are all kind and manage all types of resident needs. Exercises are done daily (from chair). I manage to do nearly all my hobbies, crosswords, Sudoku, art all done in the lounge. The building and gardens are beautiful. The food is good overall. I have
had some serious health problems and the staff took good care of me. I have lived here for some time and feel safe here and feel grateful I found this place.
Reply from Cristina Marta, Registered Manager at Ridgeway ManorThank you very much for your review. As you know us we will work hard to achieve 5 stars in all areas, so you can be even more happier. Thank you Cristina, Janet and Dawn L

Ridgeway Manor is an excellent care home for my mum and meets her needs, the staff are very kind + considerate and are willing to help in any way they can.
1 negative point is that in other care homes I have had experience in have taken the residents out on day trips whether it be shopping, popping
out to a garden centre or out for just a coffee. But Ridgeway Manor don't seem to do this.

My Mum has been at Ridgeway Manor for almost 2 years and is now at end of life care. She has mixed dementia and and a mental health condition. I cannot speak highly enough of the care provided by the staff there. They treat Mum with respect and dignity, and it is testament to the wonderful staff that
my mum is as calm and relaxed as she is. They are also excellent at keeping us informed and always take the time to talk to us (as Mum's carers) when we are worried or need reassurance. This late stage of Mum's journey with dementia has been made 100% less stressful and traumatic because we are so confident that all of Mum's needs are being met. Thankyou so much.

My mother moved to Ridgeway Manor in December 2024 following a period in hospital due to falling. We had wanted her to go to a home closer to where we lived, but as it turned out, this was the best thing that could have happened. Right from the day she moved in the care given was great. There was always
something going on and mum joined in and enjoyed herself. Christmas was really fun and the team made sure we all had a good day. When mum became ill in June the staff were amazing, looking after her with real compassion. They looked after us as well. The way the staff were in her final days was all you could ask for, caring, considerate and not just for mum, but us as well. The dignity given to her once she had passed away was nothing less than she deserved. They cared for the other residents, shielding them from what had happened so not to cause the distress. My sister and I cannot thank the team enough for how they looked after mum.

Ridgeway Manor cared for our uncle for just under three years. The homely environment and the high standard of personal care, both physical and emotional, meant that as a family, we were always confident that he was receiving the best attention.
The respect, compassion, and kindness that he was shown,
particularly during his final few weeks of life, was exceptional. We can't thank the team enough for all their support.

I have nothing but praise for the care the home. The staff are kind, caring and friendly always on hand when needed. I am always informed of any problems and treatment being provided. The manager is very approachable and helpful, my wife is always smart and tidy and, although she is unaware of her surroundings,
appears content. Nothing but praise.

Ridgeway have looked after my mother now since March 2022 and they have been meticulous in their care for her. Food, drinks and entertainment have been wonderful. Personal hygiene has been professionally and sympathetically handled. I would have no hesitation in recommending Ridgeway and all their staff
to anyone considering residency.

I am so happy with the care and love my mother-in-law received from the staff at Ridgeway Manor throughout her residency. Today she passed away quietly in her bed with her sons present. The communication and access enabled her family to be at their mum's side in her last days and hours were faultless.
All the staff lined up to pay their respects as my mother-in-law was taken out of the Ridgeway. What a send-off, what more could you ask? Thank you so much to all the staff for their care and attention.
Reply from Janet Browne, Manager at Ridgeway ManorThank you for your kind response at this sad time. Our condolences go out to you and your family, and how remarkable your mother-in-Law lived to almost 102. It has been a pleasure for the staff to care for her, and she will be missed

My mother has been living at this home for the last five years and she is very happy and well cared for. The staff are lovely and most of them have been there the whole time that my mother has been resident. They are really caring and my mother always looks very clean, tidy and well dressed. It is such
a relief to have my mother living somewhere that is of such a consistently high standard.

Our dad has been in Ridgeway Manor since October 2019, when his dementia meant he could no longer live at home. Ridgeway was recommended to us by friends who had family members who had been residents,
Dad is well cared for and happy at Ridgeway. The home has regular activities, and we particularly
like that the residents are encouraged to be in the communal areas during the day, rather than being left in their rooms, as we saw in another care home we visited.
The home is clean and warm, the staff are kind and friendly and there is minimal staff turnover.
We are very happy with the care he receives, and our thanks to all the staff who make Ridgeway a safe and caring home.
Highly recommended.

Ridgeway Manor is very much a 'home from home' with wonderful, caring staff and a minimal staff turnover. Always someone on hand to deal with needs even before they arise. A very happy community atmosphere within the sitting rooms and lovely bright, clean and well-maintained bedrooms for those who enjoy
their own company on occasion. My mother has been at Ridgeway for four years, and I am local enough to be able to pop in regularly, so feel I have a good idea of the ethos of the home.
I am kept fully informed of any events or concerns during my mother's increasing frailty (she is 99 years old), and management and staff are very supportive of her needs. She is comfortable and content within her Ridgeway family environment.
I would highly recommend.

Since being at Ridgeway my ninety one year old father has experienced an amazing new lease of life! He had been at another local care home where he spent most of his time in bed, had to be hoisted in and out of bed to a wheelchair, with no attempt at rehabilitation. As soon as he moved to Ridgeway,
he was much happier and the staff arranged for physio to help with his mobility issues immediately. Within weeks my dad was able to get in and out of bed without using a hoist and able to walk again with the assistance of a frame. He now enjoys life - joins in with all the activities, reads avidly, eats well, and has put on weight. He looks 20 years younger. I cannot fault the lovely staff at Ridgeway, carers that genuinely care about my dad's well being and quality of life. Thank you

Current Review Score: 9.4 (9.422)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.4 (9.422) out of 10 for Ridgeway Manor is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 10 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 10 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.672 for Ridgeway Manor is calculated as follows: ( (82 Excellents x 5) + (35 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 119 Ratings = 4.672
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.75 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Ridgeway Manor is based on 10 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 = 3.75
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 43 registered maximum number of service users is 8.6, which has been reached with 10 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
