Ridgeway Manor

Mum has been a resident at Ridgeway Manor for nearly 5 years. Despite her extreme decline with dementia I have always found the care to be very good. The staff all seem very patient in the hardest of circumstances and give mum plenty of time and attention even though she is not overly responsive.

I have found the staff at Ridgeway Manor to be very caring. My mother always looks neat and clean. Her hair is well done and she is happy. The food is excellent and they cater well for my mother's request not to eat meat. The atmosphere is warm and friendly and the surroundings clean and pleasant. There are varied activities.

Ridgeway Manor has a very professional management team and the most caring and patient staff. My mother is receiving exemplary pastoral care and is very comfortable.

The care in Ridgeway Manor is really good. The staff are all kind and manage all types of resident needs. Exercises are done daily (from chair). I manage to do nearly all my hobbies, crosswords, Sudoku, art all done in the lounge. The building and gardens are beautiful. The food is good overall. I have had some serious health problems and the staff took good care of me. I have lived here for some time and feel safe here and feel grateful I found this place.

1 negative point is that in other care homes I have had experience in have taken the residents out on day trips whether it be shopping, popping out to a garden centre or out for just a coffee. But Ridgeway Manor don't seem to do this.

My Mum has been at Ridgeway Manor for almost 2 years and is now at end of life care. She has mixed dementia and and a mental health condition. I cannot speak highly enough of the care provided by the staff there. They treat Mum with respect and dignity, and it is testament to the wonderful staff that my mum is as calm and relaxed as she is. They are also excellent at keeping us informed and always take the time to talk to us (as Mum's carers) when we are worried or need reassurance. This late stage of Mum's journey with dementia has been made 100% less stressful and traumatic because we are so confident that all of Mum's needs are being met. Thankyou so much.

Ridgeway Manor always makes us welcome when we visit. Staff are friendly and very helpful when we visit. Staff are helpful and caring for my brother, and we feel he is in a very caring environment

The management and staff always make me feel welcome when I visit and are friendly. I can see that my wife is well cared for and seems comfortable. Her general and personal care needs are catered for and she is well looked after.

My mother moved to Ridgeway Manor in December 2024 following a period in hospital due to falling. We had wanted her to go to a home closer to where we lived, but as it turned out, this was the best thing that could have happened. Right from the day she moved in the care given was great. There was always something going on and mum joined in and enjoyed herself. Christmas was really fun and the team made sure we all had a good day. When mum became ill in June the staff were amazing, looking after her with real compassion. They looked after us as well. The way the staff were in her final days was all you could ask for, caring, considerate and not just for mum, but us as well. The dignity given to her once she had passed away was nothing less than she deserved. They cared for the other residents, shielding them from what had happened so not to cause the distress. My sister and I cannot thank the team enough for how they looked after mum.

The respect, compassion, and kindness that he was shown, particularly during his final few weeks of life, was exceptional. We can't thank the team enough for all their support.

My husband spent 2 weeks at the home. He was treated very well by all staff members. He was not very happy with some of the meals. He had a nice room with a small washing room. He would be happy to return if needed.

I have nothing but praise for the care the home. The staff are kind, caring and friendly always on hand when needed. I am always informed of any problems and treatment being provided. The manager is very approachable and helpful, my wife is always smart and tidy and, although she is unaware of her surroundings, appears content. Nothing but praise.

Ridgeway have looked after my mother now since March 2022 and they have been meticulous in their care for her. Food, drinks and entertainment have been wonderful. Personal hygiene has been professionally and sympathetically handled. I would have no hesitation in recommending Ridgeway and all their staff to anyone considering residency.

I am so happy with the care and love my mother-in-law received from the staff at Ridgeway Manor throughout her residency. Today she passed away quietly in her bed with her sons present. The communication and access enabled her family to be at their mum's side in her last days and hours were faultless. All the staff lined up to pay their respects as my mother-in-law was taken out of the Ridgeway. What a send-off, what more could you ask? Thank you so much to all the staff for their care and attention.

My mother received superb care by lovely staff in a beautiful but ageing building with extensive grounds. She was happy and comfortable to the end and the whole family appreciate the significant efforts made by the staff in caring for her. Medical treatment was implemented with diligence and compassion and Mum was always comfortable. Thank you.

Always happy with the care my family member receives. I know he is cared for and they are always so helpful with visits and appointments. Cannot thank the staff enough for keeping him safe, happy and healthy.

My family member has been at Ridgeway Manor since 2017 and we have been extremely happy. Ridgeway Manor offers a safe secure environment and a lovely atmosphere. I personally have worked in social care for 20 years and this is by far the best care setting I have ever come across. We will never move my relative, she is very happy. Highly recommended to all.
