Located at the foot of Hambledon Hill in the heart of North Dorset, Millbrook House is an elegant, spacious Georgian residence set in two acres of beautiful gardens in the village of Child Okeford.

Millbrook House provides excellent care in a homely and loving atmosphere – a place that residents really can call “home”.

Registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the most recent inspection in June 2018 was rated 'Good'. They are also proud to have recently been awarded a ‘Commend’ by the Gold Standards Framework.

Millbrook House offers convalescent and holiday breaks, permanent residency and palliative care.

The mission at Millbrook House is to offer the same degree of care that a loving and caring relative, aided by health professionals, would provide. With that in mind, each Resident is treated with care, dignity and respect, with a particular focus on their individual needs.

An activities coordinator is responsible for arranging a monthly programme of events to keep residents entertained, active and stimulated.

Residents enjoy a varied and home cooked diet consisting of fresh seasonal produce, which where possible is homegrown in the vegetable garden. Recognising that food is one of life’s joys.

Our mother was a resident at Millbrook until she passed away two weeks ago. My sisters and I could not speak more highly of Millbrook and all of its staff. They combined compassion and skill with extraordinary patience and kindness. Our mother was made extremely welcome in her pretty and clean room.
She enjoyed good wholesome food in the bright and airy day rooms.
However, it was particularly towards the end of her life that we all came to appreciate their incredible commitment to their work and our mother despite the pressures of end of life care. The manager and all of her team are incredibly professional and will have our eternal gratitude for the way they managed our mother as her life ended.

My mother-in-law has been made most welcome during her stay at this care home over the last 6 weeks. The staff have been very caring towards her and she often comments on how kind and friendly they are. The beautiful old Georgian House is full of character and the home itself is kept immaculately clean.
It is set in a picturesque village with views across the beautifully kept gardens towards Hambledon Hill. There are a variety of activities for the residents and my mother-in-law has particularly enjoyed visits from the local school and nursery children who have entertained the residents with their singing and nativity play. She has also enjoyed trips out for lunch at the local pub, as well as Garden and Christmas parties. There is a choice of food on the menu and my mother-in-law has particularly enjoyed the delicious homemade soups and hot dishes, many made from vegetables seen growing in the garden. Visitors are made very welcome at any time.

The staff are very friendly, the home is clean and tidy and very presentable. There is an activity programme for the residents and the staff are fully aware of the resident's needs.
