Mum entered The Risings a few months ago after struggling to manage living on her own. The staff were incredibly helpful and supportive in helping her to adjust to the change. Mum always looks clean and well cared for, and her room and the home, in general, are always immaculate. There are a wide range of activities, which mum was gently encouraged to participate in. The food looks tasty with suitable portions for the residents, but mum has still managed to put on over a stone. We suspected that she wasn't eating properly before she went in. Friends and family are welcome to visit as long as it doesn't interfere with mealtimes etc. and staff are always happy to discuss any concerns and provide updates. Current Covid-19 guidelines are followed, and the home feels clean and safe. Overall, this is a happy, friendly place which feels like a 'real' home, and I'd be happy to live there myself.
Mum has been a resident at the Risings for 2 years now, and we couldn't be happier with how she has been treated since she first arrived there. It is such a friendly welcoming care home, and the staff are lovely and very approachable. Mum has advanced dementia and gets very confused a lot of the time. The staff members treat her with such patience and compassion. We feel very privileged to have found her such a warm welcoming place in which to spend her final years, and I along with other members of the family, would not hesitate in recommending the Risings to anyone seeking a place for their elderly relative.
My mum has been at the Risings now for 2 years. She's always been cared for above and beyond. It has given myself and my family total peace of mind as she is being given all the attention and expert care she needs. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff who are all excellent and friendly.
The Risings provide a home-from-home experience for the residents, well balanced with the security features that are necessary when caring for those with memory problems. The place is spotless and the food provided is of an excellent home-cooked standard. I have found communication with all members of staff very easy and feel I can ask anything I feel to be relevant. My mother is aware that she is in a well-run place and is not reluctant to tell anyone who cares to listen.
During my mother's time in The Risings, she has been treated extremely well. Her individual needs have been catered for, including different coloured plates due to poor sight, lighter cups, etc. Mum is always clean and well looked after, and she never has dirty clothes on, and if I take her out, the carers make sure that she looks nice. Mum, although sometimes difficult, is treated with respect and dignity, and whenever I need to chat with the carers or management, there is always complete openness and honesty. I would 100% recommend The Risings.
In my 28 years in the fire service, I saw excellent examples of best practice alongside some of the worst. After each inspection it was commonplace for the inspecting team to ask each other "would you want to stay there?" If I'd been on the team inspecting The Risings, that response would have been a very definite yes. The care I have witnessed given to my mother, since her arrival, has been exceptional, especially as the reason for transferring there was to create a safe haven that was sadly missing from the previous venue. The care and attention to Mum's needs, with individual staff doing way above and beyond what would be regarded as "the call of duty" has been heartwarming and has reduced the stress of such a big life-changing move for an octogenarian. Communications with the team at every level has been clear, proactive and honest. The efforts by all parties I have come into contact with to provide a safe and happy environment for a vulnerable senior citizen has been marvelous.
Can’t speak highly enough of the Risings. Staff have gone out of their way to help our family member settle in and have shown great support and empathy. The residence has a homely feel and communication has been excellent. Food is varied, and great to hear about the daily activities.
It is an amazing home. The management and staff are all so caring and treat the residents as their own family and with respect. In fact, that’s what they have been to them for the last year - one big happy family. During the pandemic, the staff have done their utmost to interact with the residents’ families in the best way possible and kept them updated regularly with zoom, phone calls, FaceTime or WhatsApp messages etc (depending on which suits each resident the best). I cannot fault them in any way. They put the happiness and welfare of the residents at the forefront of whatever they do. They do their best to encourage independence and personal well-being. It is a small family-run home with good staff retention, some have worked there for well over 20 years. My grandmother was a resident and now my mother. If I need care in later life, The Risings (as it is now) would be the place I’d like to spend my final years. They are a committed, caring team. Thank you.
Deciding your relative should move into a Care Home is an incredibly difficult decision to make. Finding the right one can be tough. Choosing The Risings makes the decision easier. Our Mother, who has dementia, has been cared for by The Risings team for 3 years. Their professionalism, efficiency but more importantly, their care, is exemplary. They treat the residents as individuals and care for them with respect so as to retain their dignity. The highest compliment I can pay is saying how we, as a family, can relax in the knowledge that our Mother is safe, well and cared for. The Risings is small and cosy but has lots of activities to entertain and stimulate the Residents. The culture of properly caring is integral to the whole team.
Dad has been a resident of The Risings since June 2020 when it became clear he could no longer live independently due to his dementia. From his initial assessment, it was plain from the outset that this would be the home for Dad. The warmth and love shown to him is wonderful, and we cannot imagine him living anywhere else. The care and support he receives is outstanding, and the way they have dealt with visiting restrictions due to Covid goes above and beyond. We are regularly updated with the activities residents are taking part in, and it is lovely to see how happy they all are. The most important aspect is that Dad now recognises that The Risings is his home and is he is very comfortable and contented.
Mum arrived at the Risings unable to get about herself after an accident, where the health service failed; the staff here helped mum make huge progress. She picked the Risings herself before her accident, she has made many very good decisions, this ranks high among them. The staff are kind, respectful friendly, cheerful and professional. Mum has the best of care and could not be happier. Our family has complete trust in The Risings and feel so lucky to know she gets perfect care in the best setting.
My Mum came to live at The Risings a couple of weeks before the first national lockdown for covid (March 2020). She settled in immediately, thanks to the caring attitude of the staff and the homely atmosphere in this small home. My Mum has absolutely thrived since moving to The Risings, due to the exceptional and professional care of the whole team. She is now back to the lively, engaged, sociable woman she was 5 years ago. She has made friends, loves the food and activities, adores the attention of the staff and is genuinely happy. In fact, Mum loves The Risings so much that she tells me that when I get old, I must move in there too.
The Risings has a warm, loving atmosphere. The standard of care is first-rate. There is an activities coordinator who works with the enthusiastic managers to ensure there is plenty of stimulation including entertainers, armchair aerobics, singing and craft sessions. The menu is displayed every day, and meals are appetising and varied. All in all a haven for the elderly, particularly those with deteriorating mental capacity.
My husband is a day service user. I am very happy with the care he receives. I would recommend The Risings.
The Risings is a small residential home providing a “homely” atmosphere. The staff appear to be caring and attentive and communicate well with family members. Any queries or concerns are dealt with promptly and efficiently and family kept fully informed. A real effort has been made to understand residents and address individual needs and personalities. A regular programme of activities is carried out to stimulate the residents. Visitors are made welcome and encouraged to join in activities where appropriate. A lovely outside space is available for use by residents when the weather permits! It is a huge relief to know that my loved one is being well cared for. Highly recommended.
My dear friend has lived at The Risings for the last nine months. I visit her once a week and have always been impressed by the professional staff, the cleanliness of the home but most of all the care and attention my friend has received. I am also impressed by the stimulation she gets as there is always something happening, be it music, entertainment etc. She is thriving which makes me very happy.
My Mother has been well looked after, she is safe, her personal care is to a high standard and I don't have to worry about her anymore. I visit regularly and am made most welcome.
I am kept informed on a regular basis about any issues and how my Mother is doing generally.
I would have no hesitation in recommending The Risings to anyone considering a Care Home placement for a loved one.
The home is always clean and warm, family and visitors are always made very welcome.
A great range of appropriate activities is planned regularly to match the resident's abilities and interests, giving great interaction and stimulation.
Family is kept fully aware of all health changes, illnesses and contact with doctors etc
It is like a family home. I would highly recommend The Risings.
All the staff appear friendly, hardworking, efficient and happy during every one of my drop-in visits. Entertainment is an integral part of the safe care of the residents in this clean and comfy environment. I recommend it!
This care home is the only one I would genuinely want any relation of mine to live in. It was an extremely hard and difficult to decide to put my relative into a care home but with the help, guidance and reassurance of The Risings management and staff, I can honestly say I'm so glad I chose this home.
The home itself is lovely, decorated to the taste of the elderly which I think brings comfort to the residents. The staff have always been extremely polite and friendly with me and are always able to provide the adequate information I require in relation to my relative.
I appreciate care homes come with a cost but for my own peace of mind and knowing my loved one is as well looked after as she is, money is irrelevant and you have to remember this. I always see a variety of activities/entertainment, meals. I now go on holiday without having that awful daunting feeling of guilt and worry.
The care home is extremely clean and the personal touches make all the difference.
