Mum has called Heathfield Residential her home now for just over four years. During that time, although her health has deteriorated, the staff have constantly adapted their care to meet her changing needs. I am confident that she could not be in a better place at her stage of life.

My mum became a resident in April 2021 and Heathfield have been incredible in helping her to settle in, in difficult times as Covid restrictions remain in place. Heathfield treats their residents and their families as a big family and ensures their care is second to none. We wouldn't hesitate in recommending Heathfield and feel extremely happy we were able to secure a place for Mum.

Mum moved into the care home during the pandemic and therefore until recently we have been unable to come in and visit. However, during this time Mum has been extremely well looked after and her needs have been extremely well met. It is a comfort to us to know that Mum is safe and secure and being well looked after. The staff are very helpful, kind, and friendly and treat Mum with the utmost respect and dignity. We couldn't have found a better place for her to be.

My mother has been in this home for about 5 years. Since day one she has been treated with the utmost care by all the staff and management. Since Covid-19 the home has been totally proactive to ensure a safe environment for all even with staff living in which we are really grateful for. The care team are usually inviting and friendly (before Covid-19), management open door to talk to them if necessary. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Contact via video recordings keeps us in touch which we value too.

I am very impressed how Heathfield is proactive and imaginative in activities and themed events to stimulate the residents. Where possible they pick up on ideas that may resonate with individuals in the home. All the staff work tirelessly to make an interesting environment for all those living there.

Heathfield is in every sense a home from home. The level of care offered to every resident is amazing. Staff look after the needs of the ladies who live there with love and compassion. They have gone above and beyond during the covid19 crisis, and have done everything possible to keep everyone safe and happy.

Heathfield is now my mothers 'home'. As with any good 'home', it is a place of total safety where all her needs are met. She is treated as an individual, and her care is tailored to her own personal requirements and wishes. Home is a place where we should feel valued, listened to, and where we should find warmth and affection. Heathfield provides all these things and therefore has every right to be described as a care 'home'.

My mother-in-law has been a resident at Heathfield for several years, and throughout that time, the way in which her needs have been met and the attentive personal care she has received from all the staff has been first class. Her time there has been tailored to her wishes and needs, and the staff have kept us well informed every step of the way. Nothing but praise from our family.

Late in 2019 the time care for Mum to move into residential care due to no longer being able to manage well at home alone, particularly overnight. After visiting a number of local care homes, we were pleased to get a place for Mum at our first choice Heathfield - we are very pleased with our choice. The management and care team are very attentive, everyone is warm with a great personal touch. Mum is treated with dignity and respect, there's a range of activities, food provided is great; the facilities are clean, safe and secure. Throughout the covid pandemic, the management and care team have kept us updated regularly on processes to keep everyone safe, plan a weekly video to keep us in touch whilst we are unable to visit. A great place, providing a very high standard of care. Thanks.

Mum has been a resident at Heathfield for 18-months. Every day I think how lucky she is to be there and how lucky we are too. The owners and staff are fantastic, and both residents and their families are cared for as part of the 'Heathfield family'. The advantage of it being a small family-run home really became even more apparent during the pandemic. Safety measures were put in place very early, and the continued good health of residents and staff became paramount. The staff are a real team, carers in the true sense of the word. They all strive to ensure happiness, dignity and quality of life for the residents. It is a truly amazing place that I would highly recommend to anyone.

Review from Margaret M (Sister of Resident) published on 22 May 2020 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My sister is being cared for in Heathfield, and I am very impressed with how the care home is being managed. Every week the relatives receive a weekly video.
In terms of the Corona Virus, they were among the first to close their doors to visitors, and this has undoubtedly saved lives because we are now in the middle of May 2020 and they haven’t had a single case. The fact that they are a relatively small home (25) has also helped to keep the virus at bay. Another excellent decision they made was to instigate 72-hour shifts for the staff so that they weren’t coming in daily but sleeping over during the shift. On arrival at the beginning of each shift, the staff go straight to the basement and put on their

PPE before coming into contact with the residents. These decisions have also been tantamount to saving lives. I understand the awards for 2020 have already taken place, but I feel very strongly that Heathfield should at least get a mention or an award for these exceptional measures.

Heathfield is a very welcoming and happy residential home. I have visited many friends and my sister for four years now and always look forward to meeting new residents. I am a pastoral worker from St. Wilfrid's Parish Church and the rector brings communion monthly and I accompany her.

I am so happy for my relative to be in Heathfield I was lucky that we were able to get a room just when we needed it.
My relative is very contented, she has plenty of company with other residents and there is always staff around to help (and even provide a cup of tea)

Often there is entertainment in the afternoon which everybody can join in. The food is excellent and there are occasional get-togethers for staff/family/residents to enjoy each others company.

Mum has been a resident at Heathfield for over 3 years and has been very well looked after and content living here. Mum says "people are very kind and helpful." I have always thought that the residents are put first and families are always made welcome. Standards are kept high and there are often improvements made either to the home itself or through training of staff. There are lots of activities both for residents and families and the owners and management are very hands on and approachable.

Mum has enjoyed 14 months of care at Heathfield. She, like the other residents, are provided with superb care and food which are tailored to individual needs. The excellent staff treat 100% as a starting point. Visitors are always made most welcome, without an appointment, at any reasonable time of the day. The owners set the standards bar very high to the benefit of all. Mum is so glad we chose Heathfield.

Heathfield is everything we could wish for as a place for our Mum to live. The staff treat every individual with great care and respect and are unfailingly courteous and helpful. Residents don't have to fit I with Heathfield. Heathfield tries to fit in with each resident's preferences and needs. The outstanding cuisine on offer is shared with families at restaurant evenings and other celebrations. There is always something happening and something to look forward to but the overall ambience is of a relaxed, comfortable home with reading and activities available, different areas to sit and friends to chat to. Heathfield is exemplary and goes way beyond the highest expectations one could have for a residential home.

Heathfield provides excellent care providing a secure, safe and stable environment for the residents. The staff have extreme patience and treat the residents in a totally respectful way, protecting their dignity at all times. They go that extra mile to make their quality of life as good as possible, engaging them in daily activities to stimulate thoughts and memories. The home provides a calm, safe and thoroughly organised place for my mother to have and I would highly recommend it.
