Our biggest concern was my mother's high dependency and care needs. The centre is friendly and very welcoming, always encouraging visitors. The high level of care is wonderful, the nurses really do this out of love and are open to hear all our suggestions and requests. They allowed the private carers
to come daily and assist where allowed and always seem to work from a place of kindness. I can truly rest assured that my mother is well taken care of here.

I arrived late due to traffic but the receptionist was helpful and when I mentioned my wife was with me, she booked her in to meet Mum as well. When we arrived on the ward there were people in the lounge - all the nurses gave a welcome to us. The sister in charge is always helpful and gave me an update
on Mum. Mum's one-to-one moved Mum to her room so it was quieter. The one-to-one is extremely caring and helpful with Mum and gives us updates on what Mum has been doing each day.

My brother's care is second to none. He couldn't be happier with the carers, nursing staff, kitchen, and maintenance. They couldn't do more for him. Which to me and our family, makes us so happy. We are also very happy with the friendly reception staff.

I felt very safe in Acton Care Centre. My wish to remain in my room rather than go to the lounge or dining room was respected and carers responded quickly when I used my call button. Everything was done for me with kindness and professionalism.

The staff are very friendly and helpful and will give most things a go. The care given is good and the nurses are on top of the care plan. Can always find someone to talk to if you have any concerns. The activities coordinator and receptionist go above and beyond - it's very nice to see.

I'm very impressed with the overall standard of care and support at Acton Care Centre. It is a caring and friendly environment and the majority of carers are empathetic and hands-on. I feel confident that my mother is in safe hands and that all her needs are met. The care and dedication from carers
to residents is very evident. Highly recommend - and thank you!

My 95-year-old uncle spent his last six days at Acton Care Centre after a hospital stay. Three family members visited and we found the care to be very appropriate for someone at the end of life. Communication with staff was very good and we were welcomed to share his last days with him on visits.

The first time I telephoned the care home after my mother had been admitted, they knew exactly who she was without me even having to explain.
On visiting, I was impressed by the home's level of cleanliness and the size and facilities of her room.
I have found all the staff, whether nurses, carers,
domestic or admin to be welcoming, friendly, cheerful, caring, well-motivated and helpful - going out of their way to give assistance whenever required.
Above all, my mother received a great deal of personal care and genuine kindness, especially in the last months of her life, which was also extended to my family at a very difficult time.
A great team, providing an invaluable service.

The staff are friendly, a warm welcome on my arrival at the care home. Feel confident about the care services of the nurses, carers, and other employees on the unit, also helpful and supportive of residents' needs. I considered this place as my second home for the last 5 months. I am happy with the
treatment I received, I feel great regarding the visiting policy. Welcoming relatives with a smile, I considered this place as my second home. They are so kind, gentle in handling care to residents. Again thanks for everything, to everyone, for the care I received. I learned more about adult care, how residents are being treated, at least, I have experience and ideas. Lastly, thanks to the care home, all its staff, and employees for your great job. Well done.

I feel so fortunate that my very disturbed husband is lucky enough to live in this lovely care home. The very best place he could be. I cannot express how much I admire the staff for their professional and loving care. They are all so pleasant and cheerful and keep my husband looking spruce and well
dressed every day. It is so comforting that the laundry marking system means he is always dressed in his own clothes. An exemplary care home.

Acton Care is very expensive £6,465.71 per 31-day month. £34-45 is spent on a residents food each week. The rooms and general appearance is shabby. It needs a good clean and repainting. On a positive note, I have no complaints about the staff; they are pleasant, helpful and friendly.

Everyone here is so very kind. My mum is safe, happy, and cared for. Her room is comfortable. She has lots of people to talk to and is the happiest she's been in a long while. And I've had a huge weight of worry lifted from me as I know she's safe.

All staff at Acton Care Centre were brilliant looking after and caring for our Dad. We regularly witnessed genuine care and sympathy, kindness and compassion along with 100% support at all times. All staff ensured my Dad was comfortable and treated with dignity. They were always there for us, behaved
professionally and were in tune with all my Dad's (and our) needs. Several staff were incredible, they worked with seal and desire to help us all. We were extremely impressed and had no regrets in taking my Dad to Acton Care Centre. I would recommend it.

In the short time my sister has been at this care home I have found reception very welcoming and friendly. The care staff are extremely busy and do a great job of looking after my sister. The management are efficient and answer any questions I may have in a timely manner. The rooms and communal areas
are clean and tidy. I would have no hesitation in recommending this care home to family and friends.

Current Review Score: 9.4 (9.377)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.4 (9.377) out of 10 for Acton Care Centre is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.4 out of 5 from 27 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 25 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.415 for Acton Care Centre is calculated as follows: ( (183 Excellents x 5) + (99 Goods x 4) + (16 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) + (12 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 311 Ratings = 4.415
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.962 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Acton Care Centre is based on 25 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 130 registered maximum number of service users is 26. 25 Positive Reviews ÷ 26 = 0.962
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
