The Kenbrook Team treated my friend with dignity and respect throughout her stay there. My friend felt comfortable, respected and genuinely cared for. I feel the team went above and beyond to ensure our friend and us (the closest people to family she had), were supported during the end of her life.
Thank you all for being amazing through a very difficult time.

My friend felt safe, secure and well cared for on her first night at Kenbrook. "They are so nice to me" my friend would say. This had been her third care home since coming out of hospital in September 2019. The previous care homes had lacked any empathy. My friend passed away on 28th February 2020 and
the support we had leading up to and after her death was outstanding. The whole team were thoughtful, sympathetic and helpful. I cannot thank the Kenbrook Team enough for their outstanding care and service in the time my friend stayed with them. A special thank you to the management team who helped with all the jargon of paperwork and other services who were hard to communicate with. I just hope there is a Care Home like Kenbrook if I need one!
Reply from Marian O'Hara, Home Manager at KenbrookThank you for taking the time to leave a review of Kenbrook and the team. It is such a shame that your friend could not have come to Kenbrook once her needs became that of nursing, it would have been nice for her to have had more time with us here. She was a lovely lady who we had the honour of assisting in her final phase of life. At least you have happiness knowing that her final wish was fulfilled. We shall pass your kind words on to the team. Many thanks and take care.

Kenbrook House has provided absolutely outstanding care to my mother. Everyone has been wonderful in looking after my mum. From the cleaners and carers to the nurses and management, consideration is unfailingly shown. People have put themselves out beyond their jobs and responsibilities, to be loving
toward Mum and responsive and caring to both my sister and myself. We have been so comforted to know Mum has been given the highest respect and attention at all times. We have appreciated everyone's enthusiasm and warmth and how the manager gave Mum and us so much personal attention and caring throughout, visiting mum every day to monitor her progress herself. I am an Organisation Development consultant and I am used to assessing how places are run. The culture of this home is harmonious and the highest standards prevail at all times, including evenings and weekends which shows that this is a happy ship. If I ever needed such services, this is the place I would choose for myself.
Reply from Marian O'Hara, Home Manager at KenbrookThank you so much for taking the time to leave this lovely review of Kenbrook. It is so rewarding to read that you felt the culture of our home was harmonious and the highest standards prevail at all times. For this, we thank you most sincerely. We would like to add that it was our pleasure to have cared for your lovely Mother and to have met you as a family. It is a shame that your Mother was with us for such a short period of time, but glad that you were happy with the care your Mother received at Kenbrook. Please call to see us if you are ever in the area and thank you once again for your review. I shall pass your comments on to the team.

Throughout my Uncles stay, from his arrival on his 102nd birthday on 13th April 2019, until he died on the 1st August 2019, I found that he was treated with respect and dignity and also with love and care by the dedicated staff. On his arrival, the staff decorated his room and baked a cake for his 102nd
birthday, which was much appreciated by his family and friends. The management and staff are very professional and efficient and caring. Whenever we visited Uncle we were always offered tea, coffee and biscuits. We were often there when he was being fed, and the staff were very patient with him, encouraging him to have 'one more spoonful'! The home is beautifully presented, bright and clean without any unpleasant aromas, with lovely gardens either side of the day rooms. Uncle's religious needs and requirements were met by the resident Chaplin, who was very kind and caring. As was the manager, who always greeted us when we visited. She also supplied us with lunch when eight members of Uncle's family gathered to say our goodbyes to him. The manager also gave us breakfast on the morning of Uncle's passing. I have no hesitation in recommending the Kenbrook Nursing Care Home.
Reply from Marian O'Hara, Home Manager at KenbrookThank you so much for this wonderful review of our home and our service of care. It was clear to see your Uncle was loved and treasured by your family; it is sad that he did not get to spend much time here at Kenbrook, but what an achievement to reach the fantastic age of 102 years old. Just goes to prove his strong and determined character. We thank you for your kinds words and recommendation. Please call and see us if you are in the area and you can see the lovely planters from his garden adorning lovely flowers in the Kenbrook gardens when the season arrives. Thank you once again, I shall pass your lovely comments on to the team.

Both my wife and I would like to express our heartfelt and sincere thanks to the management and all the staff of Kenbrook Wembley for the care and kindness shown to my wife's step-father.
He spent the last three months of his life at Kenbrook and he passed away in August, aged 102 years, in their care.
We
were both hugely impressed at the kindness shown to him in addition to the high-quality professional care. The kindness and respect was always extended to us and other family members when visiting and was well beyond our expectations.
We wish the staff at Kenbrook had known him when he was a little younger and more able and they could have fully appreciated what a jovial and kind-hearted man he was.
Once again thank you all so very much - we would have no hesitation in recommending Kenbrook Nursing Home to anyone considering care for relative or loved one.
Kindest Regards.
Reply from Marian O'Hara, Home Manager at KenbrookThank you for your lovely words about our team here at Kenbrook. We also wish we had known your step-father in his younger years, as even at 102 years old we could still see his jovial ways. My friend, who is a resident, wrote "I still like it here but I don't get out so often." She is now confined to a wheelchair and can hardly write. She strongly agreed that the staff are kind and reliable and offer her exactly the support she needs in her current situation. I have found them to be very
attentive to her individual wishes and tastes, such as enabling her to play the piano and fostering new friendships with other residents. Considering my friend has dementia, things are as good as can be.
Reply from Marian O'Hara, Home Manager at KenbrookThank you for taking the time to review Kenbrook and our service. We shall continue to encourage her to participate in the activities.

My wife has Lasting Power of Attorney for a resident with moderately severe dementia who has been at Kenbrook since March 2019. Her condition has predictably deteriorated, this is no fault of Kenbrook where she is given every consideration by staff from manager and admin team down to all ranks of nurse
and carer. We would not ask for more considerate or sympathetic care.

My 96-year-old father has severe dementia and very challenging behaviour as a result. The staff at Kenbrook have dealt with him with great patience, compassion, humour and are extremely tolerant and kind. The surroundings are lovely with lots of light, clean and modern furniture and beautiful flowers
and it tries all round to calm and lift spirits. And no dreadful smells.
So I thoroughly recommend Kenbrook. I want to be there myself when the time comes.

My friend came to Kenbrook in March this year and has blossomed since her arrival. Friends who haven't seen her since before she went to Kenbrook have said she looks ten years younger! She has never looked so clean and healthy! They have a resident hairdresser who is brilliant and she has a wash every
morning. Her clothes are spotless as she has her clothes washed and laundered every day. She is eating well and the brilliant nurses make sure she has her medication at the right times. The events manager even emailed me photos when I was away on holiday so I could see she was ok.
The Chaplain is so caring and spends many hours talking to the residents and I have seen her feeding them! The nurses are extremely kind and caring. The staff are extremely professional and loving. I have never seen a cleaner care home and a huge sense of love and caring as you would receive in a close family. It is their 'Home away from home'.

To the Team at Kenbrook, my aunt would have me to say how happy and blessed she was in Kenbrook. A fiercely independent woman who always looked out for others, she found it hard moving into Kenbrook six years ago. Without doubt, she tried the Team's patience and good humour. Yet their undiminished kindness
gradually won her over.
With the Team's encouragement and generosity of spirit, in a communal setting so unfamiliar to her character, my aunt came to find her place in Kenbrook: her place, in her own time and in her own way. In her words, her smiles, and sometimes her forthright manner, she declared: "This is my home and for that I am thankful." Then when it came to say goodbye or as Kenbrook Manager put it, "to turn out the light", my aunt did so still being comforted by your presence. She would have wanted to say: "God Bless you all and thank you."
Reply from Marian O'Hara, Home Manager at KenbrookThank you so much for taking the time to review Kenbrook.

Mum arrived in to Kenbrook in January 2019, it was an extremely difficult decision for our family to move her out of her home but from mum's first night, Kenbrook had the support and care for her and us (son and daughters) needed to settle her into her new surroundings.
All of the staff treat mum with
so much kindness and humour, whilst showing patience and understanding of her foibles. So we know she is safe and happy. Mum has settled in far better than we could have hoped. Her many visitors are greeted warmly with an update of what she and her new friends have been up to.
We are grateful to Kenbrook for providing such wonderful care to our mum.

I am so pleased that Kenbrook was able to take my father-in-law, once he was discharged from hospital. The Home Manager really knows what she is doing, and runs Kenbrook exceptionally well. My father-in-law was happy there and always commented that he felt well cared for by the team. The staff were

Kenbrook is very clean and well decorated, with two well maintained and colourful gardens and very bright airy sitting and dining rooms, often with music playing quietly. Hot and cold drinks are always readily available to residents and visitors.
The staff are extremely friendly and hardworking and
I always receive a cheerful greeting when I arrive and a cheery goodbye when I leave. They work extremely hard and always react efficiently and quickly to any request or alarm from residents, maintaining a pleasant attitude towards them. The Matron also makes herself readily available to residents and visitors alike.
Activities include a weekly visit from children from a local primary school, music therapy, music and movement and baking, all of which my mother really enjoys. There are also regular visits from musicians and two religious services per week, which my mother joins in with happily.
I would have no hesitation in recommending the care home; my mother is very happy there.

My Aunty was a resident of Kenbrook for 14 months. I knew immediately that this was the right home for her on viewing. This home met all her care needs, the staff are caring and professional and I would not hesitate to recommend Kenbrook.
Reply from Marian O'Hara, Home Manager at KenbrookThank you for your kind words and for taking the time to leave a review of Kenbrook. I feel the standards of nursing care at Kenbrook will no longer be scrutinised or checked so much now that your aunt is not around to keep us on our toes! We still miss her comments and think of her often.
It is a pity that there are not more nurses with the values and beliefs of your dear aunt. Her profession was her life and I am sure that she influenced and changed care for the better over her years.

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.883 for Kenbrook is calculated as follows: ( (200 Excellents x 5) + (21 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 223 Ratings = 4.883
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.975 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Kenbrook is based on 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.975
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 51 registered maximum number of service users is 10.2, which has been reached with 19 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
