The staff are wonderful, caring and look after my mother well. The activities coordinator is excellent and attentive. The room is unfortunately in a poor state with damp seeping through the ceiling and wall. This ruined one of my mother's pictures which hung on the wall. Just to give an example of how
bad it is, paint peeling as a result. We have asked many times for it to be fixed and it has not. Also, her TV is not working at times and staff are not able to turn it on.

After a very bad experience with another care home which my Aunt and I were let down badly, this is so much better. She is very happy here. The staff are so caring with her as she has complicated needs. It is always clean and smells lovely. Throughout Covid lockdown, they always keep in touch with video
calls to my Aunt. The staff make the home, not the furnishings!

My friend moved to this home about 3 months ago, at first found it daunting, since then found the home very comfortable. Staff are very friendly and the food here is excellent. The staff make you feel very happy and safe. The staff always make my friend happy, they treat me as though I am a resident
here. I am always offered tea/coffee when I visit.

I feel more support staff is needed with activities as at the moment there is only one part-time member of staff, clearly not enough for 20 plus residents.
What lets the home down is the shabby appearance of the outside of the building (absolutely no kerb appeal). This lovely Victorian building has
been sadly neglected, with dirty windows, old and shabby net curtains and outside windows and doors in bad need of cleaning and painting.
Pots full of dead and rotting flowers. So sad and demoralising for such dedicated and hard-working staff who give such good care to the residents.

My mother has been here for just over a year and a half now. She was understandably anxious at first but settled well with the care, understanding and respect of the staff. She is encouraged to stay up in the lounge or dining room but respected if she really does want to go to bed. The manager works
hard and aims to please with encouragement and support of the staff.

We feel extremely lucky to have had my aunt at High Meadow with the kind and professional staff. She lived far longer than expected due to their dedication. She was kept clean, happy and comfortable. All the staff try their very best and I have nothing but praise for them.

I would highly recommend High Meadow as a nursing home, nothing is too much trouble for the care of my husband and the residents. Unfortunately I feel they are understaffed but cope very well. The staff are very friendly and everybody seems to get on well.

I am generally happy with the service but feel it could be improved with more staffing. Often one has to wait some time because the few carers have too many patients to deal with and other staff have too many jobs to do e.g. one person deals with maintenance, supervision of cleaning, bed making and
the gardening.
