Located in historic Dartford, Priory Mews is a friendly purpose-built care home, offering residential, nursing and dementia care.

Priory Mews consists of five separate houses each offering a high standard of care.

Stylishly decorated throughout and with landscaped gardens, each home has a comfortable lounge and dining room where residents can socialise and entertain guests if they wish. All bedrooms provide single accommodation and include a 24-hour call system and some offer views of the surrounding gardens.

Good quality ingredients are used to create a wide selection of tasty meals and all tastes and diets can be catered for.

Visits from local entertainers and trips out to local community and charity events ensure that residents are never short of things to do.

I’ve arrived at the care home a few times to find my grandad and other residents of the home needing the toilet and being ignored, but just put it down the lack of staff or the business of the ones on duty, but this particular day I arrived to find my grandad waiting outside the toilet and stood with
him for 20 minutes whilst he waited, bearing in mind he’d already been there for approximately 10-20 minutes, which made it even worse was staff members of the home just casually walked past unable to ask his needs or realise that he needed to use the toilet, problems like this shouldn’t happen in a care home and basic needs should be met.

Thank you for your comments. I would like to assure you that we are not short of staff. Having looked into this incident and after speaking with the team, I am confident that although there are sometimes delays we manage to meet Resident's needs. The use of a hoists takes 2 staff and there are 2 toilets in that particular area, therefore at times, there can be a wait for each person to use a hoist as well as the facilities. Staff do their best to minimise this as far as they can. I have spoken to your grandfather and his next of kin and they are very happy with the care that he receives. I am more than happy to meet with you and discuss further if you would find this useful.

The care shown to our father was first class. Dad was treated with dignity and care and it made us happier as a family, knowing that dad was as content as can be. All the staff work so very hard in difficult circumstances and nothing but kindness was shown to Dad and we as a family thank you all from

I have found the home extremely welcoming.
The staff are very good considering the varied needs of the residents some of who are quite clearly in need of special treatment.
The facilities are good with nice rooms and a sizeable lounge.

My wife was transferred from hospital to the nursing care section and so far have been pleased with all the aspects of her care. The nurses, carers and all staff are always ready to help, even though their workload sometimes prevents this. The previous section my wife attended, in my opinion, requires
more staff to cope with the pressures and difficulties within this section.

Despite the hard work and effort that the carers put into their work, they never have anything but time and real affection for all those under their care. This means, as a family, we can be sure Mum is in the very best of hands which makes a great deal of difference to us. Well done all!

My Mum has been in Priory Mews Dartford for 18 months. She is content, but the family have had several issues over the past period, her room was not being kept clutter free and her possessions were not being respected, but after my last verbal complaint, things seem to have improved. I hope that lasts.

Lovely staff who I have great trust in. Well run by a very approachable house manager who always makes me feel confident that mum is well looked after. All staff very on the ball dealing with residents obviously depending on how many staff present. What I find extremely comforting is the kindliness

My mum is very well looked after. The staff know her and she reacts well to them. There is so much for her to do but she really doesn't like to do anything. The staff are very patient and lovely to her. My mum has been there for 3 years and if there is anything wrong the staff will phone me up straight
away.

The staff are always kind and considerate of her needs. They support us a family.


Although seeing tablecloths and doilies are lovely, given the circumstances of your residents, is it necessary. When funds could be put to use perhaps elsewhere. A clean

table is a priority. Just a comment.

In recent months, we have reviewed the mealtime experience at Priory Mews and made some exciting changes, enhancing meal times for all our Residents in line with our “Dignity in Dining” program. This includes particular focus around providing a restaurant-quality experience for all our Residents, whether they decide to eat in our newly laid out dining rooms, or if they decide to eat in their rooms.
