After being without respite care for so long I was anxious and excited for my sons first stay at Chasley. I shouldn't have been because not only was he looked after perfectly well, he didn't even want to come home as he had enjoyed himself so much.
In order for respite care services to work, the carer has to be able to relax knowing that their loved one will be in the safest of hands.

I'm so Thankful and I can't wait for the next stay.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share this. It means a lot to our whole team at Chaseley.

We understand how much courage it takes to hand over the care of a loved one, especially after such a long wait for respite support. Knowing you arrived feeling anxious makes your son's reaction all...

We left our son at the Chaseley Trust for two weeks respite care. He was very well looked after the staff were very friendly and helpful and more than capable of dealing with any problems that can occur with his condition.

I was very disappointed not to be able to use the gym. I cannot afford to pay privately and Chaseley take 85% of my pension. When I had a look round the home I saw the gym and assumed it was for residents. When I had money stolen I was upset at victim blaming. Also the kitchen gets my menu requests wrong. V frequently.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that you feel disappointed by your experience.

All Residents have one thing in common. As a result of misfortune they are all wheelchair users living with severely disabling conditions. Chaseley provide care, rehabilitation, safety also fun, entertainment shows, outings through an ambitious programme of activities. Staff and Residents work in partnership to make this happen within a unique, warm and friendly atmosphere.

Chaseley have a fine gym for the disabled which is also available to the local community.

My brother has MND and can be challenging at times. He has assured me is is very happy here and my impressions of the facility concur with his views. The staff are attentive and caring and always address him by his first name whenever they see him. His 1:1 on occassions with management are productive + useful. The facility offers a range of activities and try to engage the residents to attend. I am pleased he is at Chaseley and feel this is the best place for his condition.

Chaseley is an excellent care home for people with severe and challenging physical disabilities. We have found a haven of safety, kindness. expertise and true understanding in Chaseley which provides so well for my brother's needs both on a physical and emotional level. Chaseley is like a family, and also very much inclusive of relatives and friends of residents. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff who work tirelessly to provide the best possible care. It is a lovely environment for all. The activities on offer and the support team are brilliant.

Overall Experience

Our Daughter has resided in The Chaseley Trust for almost 15 years. During this time she has experienced many changes, with Management and staff of All levels. What hasn't changed is the excellent quality of care that she has received. OK. I must admit, we've experienced a number of issues during this time, but these have always been addressed when they have appeared, or as our daughter or us parents, have brought to the attention of management. Staff are recruited from many nationalities, like most healthcare establishments, but their attention and care is always good, which reflects upon how the place operates. There are many organised activities which residents can join in, if able, helped, or just to observe. Often entertainment is arranged, with visiting artists. Much credit going to the Entertainment staff. The building itself is in a position on the seafront with wonderful views which can be seen from the gardens or a sun lounge. Maintained by a great maintenance team !

Thank you for sharing your experience and for your kind words about the care your daughter has received over the years. We truly appreciate your recognition of our dedicated staff, activities team, and maintenance crew. It's wonderful to hear that she enjoys the entertainment and the beautiful seafront setting. Your feedback means a lot, and we're always here to support your family.

Chaseley organises very varied and diverse activities for residents to enjoy. The staff are very caring and attentive to my brother and warm and friendly. He is always clean and well-presented, not being able to fulfil his own care needs independently. The staff have kindness and patience in abundance, thank you.

A fantastic care home with amazing views and staff who go the extra mile to ensure everything possible is done to make life good for residents. A big shout out to the well-being team who provide so many activities and entertainment. There is so much to join in with, and loads of varied, well thought-out activities. The gym is brilliant - again a dedicated team - and holistic/massage is also excellent.

All in all a first-class care home with great values.

Mum is in the most brilliant place. Mum is cared for fantastically, staff keep me updated all the time with her care and if Mum is unwell.

My partner has been at The Chaseley Trust for a number of years and is well cared for. The home has a friendly, welcoming feel and provides excellent services to enhance both physical and emotional well-being. What, for me, would turn it from a good to an excellent care home would be an improvement in communication both between the home and the family and between the different departments in the care home.

Reply from Andrew Burt, Registered Manager at The Chaseley Trust

Thank you for your kind feedback. I am pleased to hear that your partner is well cared for and the home has a friendly, welcoming feel. It was a difficult decision finding a residential home for our 47-year-old daughter after many years of her living in her own bungalow with a personal care team. She has now been at The Chaseley Trust for a month now and she is so happy there. The level of care and nursing is brilliant but that's not all, the atmosphere is one of real love and that's the most important thing. Our daughter is always busy doing activities and being with staff and residents. All the staff have worked hard to assist her settle in. Not just the care staff and nurses but the administration too have been marvellous in helping us and our daughter to embark on the next phase of her life. We are both relieved and delighted that we made the decision to send her to The Chaseley Trust and feel confident that she has a long and satisfying life ahead of her.

We moved our mother to The Chaseley Trust so we could be nearer to her as we know our time with her is limited. We also wanted her to be somewhere lively so she could have more interaction. Mum has been at Chaseley since the end of September and the difference is really noticeable. Firstly, she receives a really really high standard of care and the care team are dedicated, supportive and very nurturing with her. Secondly, to watch the activities team weave their magic with the residents is truly inspiring - they are amazing. It is very humbling to watch them in action. We, as a family feel our mum is in the best place to finish out her last years. Thank you all.
