Reviews

8.9 The Chaseley Trust has a Review Score of 8.9 (8.920)

The Review Score of 8.9 (maximum of 10) for The Chaseley Trust is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.5 out of 5 from 6 Reviews over all time. This Average Rating is also the rating value for The Chaseley Trust in Google's Search Results - more info

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.5 out of 5 from 5 positive Reviews in the last 12 months.

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating of all Reviews over all time. For each review the Care Home / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The Care Home receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating.

    The Average Rating of 4.465 for The Chaseley Trust is calculated as follows: ( (45 Excellents x 5) + (17 Goods x 4) + (7 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) + (1 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 71 Ratings = 4.465

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 12 months. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with 'Extremely Likely' or 'Likely' in answer to the question 'How likely are you to recommend this Care Home to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?'

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 5 Positive Reviews, 3 points for the first Positive Review and then 0.25 Points for each of the next 4 Positive Reviews.

    2. 1 point is available for reaching a target number of Positive Reviews based on 20% of the number of registered maximum number of service users. If the target is partially reached then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home with 50 registered maximum number of service users has a target of 10 Positive Reviews, if it has 10 or more Positive Reviews it will receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews will receive 0.7 points.

    3. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. The calculation is the same as above, except the points are divided by 2.

The 4.455 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for The Chaseley Trust is based on 5 positive Reviews in the last 12 months and is calculated as follows:

    1. 3 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 = 4

    2. Target of 11 positive Reviews (55 registered maximum number of service users ÷ 5). 5 Reviews ÷ 11 Target = 0.455

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

I have recently moved rooms to accommodate my needs i.e more like assisted living where I can come and go, cook and have more of a staff ratio so they can spend more time to my needs.
I enjoy watching DVDs and listening to CDs and all this is available to me. I like going out so taxis are booked. I can go into town or an art gallery etc assisted by a volunteer or member of staff. The staff are excellent and the home suits my needs as a person with cerebral palsy.

My first visit and I have already booked another week in April. My room had a sea view but no en-suite facilities. Carers, nurses and all other staff very capable and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent and plenty of choices. Dining room overlooked the sea and just like a restaurant, not an institution. Lots of activities - quizzes, games, puzzles, pottery, painting and more. Something to do all the time. I did not experience pet pals but would like to but some residents had a dog or birds in their rooms. Thoroughly enjoyable week for me and a respite for my husband.

Lesley Standing, Operations Manager at The Chaseley Trust responded to this review on 16 Mar 2017:

We are very pleased to see that this short stay had such a positive outcome for both you and your husband and we look forward to seeing you again in the near future for another stay.

I think the management need to change for it to be better. The staff in Activate Gym are very good and they helped me put on weight after I lost it at the hospital. Physio department is also good and helped me a lot. Ground floor staff are also good.

Lesley Standing, Operations Manager at The Chaseley Trust responded to this review on 29 Dec 2016:

We are sorry to hear this resident's views about the management in the home, however pleased to see that they have then marked other areas as excellent within the home which we feel may be an indication that perhaps this relates their scoring to isolated decisions that have had to be made that they might not have liked.
The last year has seen substantial change and development within the home as the service has continued to grow, bringing with it at times difficult decisions that some residents may not have liked but were necessary to keep the Home open. Residents are able to attend the regular monthly forums held by the management team to provide two-way feedback with all residents on general issues within the home. We will highlight these forums to this resident as they have yet to attend any which if they do in the future this might help their awareness of what is going on in the wider home and why sometimes we cannot always assist with individual requests.

My experience at Chaseley Trust has been a great one, staff are friendly and positive. I am treated nicely and my beliefs are respected. The activities here are great and exciting.
