On arrival, a member of staff welcomed me and actually remembered me from previous stays. The rooms were clean, tidy and well appointed. As for the food, it could not be faulted. Breakfast, lunch and dinner all fantastic as well as for morning and afternoon tea. PS I put on 2 kilos!
I went there initially because it was right by the sea but didn't expect so many other benefits. Thank you Rustington
I have stayed here several times in the past and have always had amazing treatment, feeling well looked after and very safe.
The staff are always friendly and caring - nothing is too much trouble for them so they have a good rapport with all patients.
I can't praise the whole experience of being cared for by Rustington Convalescent Home enough.
A place of rest and healing. Lovely building thoughtfully and comfortably decorated and furnished. Welcoming with a variety of different shared rooms from sitting and watching the sea, having a snooze, watching TV or playing cards, chess, draughts, Scrabble or doing puzzles. Generous meals and excellent staff including some trained medical members. To be treated with care and as an intelligent human. Perfect.
I took the full two weeks to recover and was very happy with almost everything. I wish there was a laundry service (would pay extra for it) for people who do not live locally. The fitted sheet on my bed kept coming off (too small) and my quilt was very hot I wish there were more activities (trips to chemists etc) and finally any chance of a gym?
We do organise 3 trips per week to the local area and did lay on an extra trip to Worthing for you during your stay. We are always happy to book taxis...
What a wonderful place for R and R after an operation. The care that I have received has been fantastic - what wonderful staff. The accommodation. The food and love has been 100%.
The home manager was very helpful and understanding in making the reservation to stay.
The home/building is built to a high standard with generous proportions of room size all very well decorated and maintained.
All the staff are so helpful, friendly and caring.
Food was excellent in quality, range and size.
Good activities and services.
The Rustington Convalescent Home whose building dates back to the 1890's is in a beautiful setting right by the English Channel. The rooms are very comfortable and the food and medical attention are excellent which all aided my recovery from major surgery. In addition, the fees charged are probably more reasonable than to other equivalent homes and I would certainly not consider going anywhere else for rest and recuperation. I cannot recommend the Rustington Convalescent Home highly enough.
I had no idea such wonderful establishment had survived. This is like a 5-star hotel crossed with a private hospital. The care is expert with first class food in elegant surroundings. After a week I feel like a new person, ready to go back to independent living.
The care and support given by the staff is excellent. Nothing is too much trouble! The quality and standard of the food is far better than many top hotels.
Guests/clients/patients are precious and treated as such.
My wife, mother-in-law and myself stayed for a week at Rustington Convalescent Home, Littlehampton, for respite following hospital treatments. We had an excellent time staying there. The care and support given to us was first-class, the food was superb and the home itself was extremely comfortable. Interesting visits and entertainment were also provided. The home itself is adjacent to the sea, and hence the environment is very healthy and beneficial to those who need to recover from illness or surgery.
Wonderful place. Superb staff at all levels. Lovely building. Spotlessly clean. Fine situation. Excellent meals. Residents are very happy and well looked after. Rooms could be larger if possible.
I went to Rustington Convalescent Home after a prolapse operation. I booked two weeks and thoroughly enjoyed everything that was offered to me. The food was generous, original, tempting and of good quality. The nursing was caring and professional. All staff were kind and polite. I would recommend this home to anyone needing respite, rest and comfort.
Admitted following heart surgery on 19th Jan. Gradual recovery next two weeks but pre-discharging medical check disclosed lung infection for which antibiotics prescribed and a further week negotiated. Room and general areas with care staff were good but morning check with nursing staff was particularly brief.
I was recommended this care home by a friend who had spent two weeks there, recovering from a knee operation. It was everything she had said. I too was recovering from a knee replacement and the staff were so caring. The food was excellent. The relaxed atmosphere, I'm sure helped with my recovery. There is also some fun entertainment the staff lay on. I met some lovely people. You couldn't ask for anything more.
We viewed establishments closer to home but it was well worth travelling further afield. Wonderful balance of: 24/7 medical care, professional yet personal staff, outstanding delicious, varied and nutritious menus, excellent range of therapies and activities and entertainment. Exceptional situation in view of the sea and adjacent to park and lake. Lovely old building (updated as required) full of character. Website avoiding sales-speak and exaggerated hype - prompt and efficient office arrangements. Calm, peaceful, no panic atmosphere. Very good value.
