My brother-in-law moved to Farway Grange for palliative care following discharge from hospital. His family and I were very impressed with the welcoming, positive and respectful staff, we were always greeted with a smile. Farway Grange is clean and homely with a stunning garden.

My brother-in-law's final days were full of dignity, compassion support and peace.

My husband has been at Farway Grange in Howard Road for over 2 years. He has been close to death several times. With the help of the nursing home and the hospital, he pulls through.
The manager visited my husband in hospital - which we thought was really lovely. The staff are lovely, kind, helpful and always there when you need them. There is a quiet calm atmosphere. When I walk into the building I always have a warm welcome and offered a cuppa.

I wish all nursing and care homes were this good. They give 100%. Thank you and keep up the good work.

Our dear mum was admitted to Farway Grange Care Home Nursing Home via the fast track process due to terminal cancer. All the staff and management team have done everything possible to make sure our mum is as comfortable as they can. The home is small and homely and the residents are treated with respect for their dignity and with genuine care for their well-being. Family members are greatly welcomed and encouraged to be part of the home's family orientated philosophy. Our mum is very ill but we do know she is cared about.

My wife suffered severe strokes 3 years ago which left her unable to speak and can only move her left arm a little, but her spirit most days is good, due to the excellent care she is given. All the homes staff are excellent and do communicate to her with smiles and hand holding. Maybe they could equalled but I doubt they could be surpassed.

My husband was terminally ill with lung cancer and was transferred to Farway Grange from the hospital in November 2016. He settled in quickly and with the great care from all the staff managed to have six weeks of comfortable and well-cared life that he doubtfully would have had if he had stayed in the hospital. I would like to thank all the staff for making his and my life a little easier in this very difficult time.

My father was taken from Poole Hospital. He had very good care and they looked after me and my mother. They even talked to him in his own language. Personal hygiene was very good and was treated with dignity and respect. I would recommend this home.

Overall Experience

Farway Grange is the most incredible place full of caring warmth. The hard working team are a family who work together to achieve the most homely environment, where each resident is cared for with professionalism, love and patience. Their ever changing requirements are quickly identified and acted upon. Family and friends are actively encouraged to be part of the caring process and for us personally the constant care and support were unbelievable. After an all-night vigil breakfast was quietly served without fuss, but with a warm smile for exhausted relatives. A positive communication pathway existed from the beginning and we were constantly updated and played a full part. We knew that our loved one was safe, warm and cared for. Above all Farway Grange shows respect for its residents. Ill and emotionally fragile when they arrive, Farway Grange becomes their new home. Indeed it became our second home for those last few precious months. Our family will always be eternally grateful.

My brother passed away a year ago, but lived at Farway grange for about five years before he passed and I can say our family had peace of mind that he was being cared for by some very lovely people, who always treated him so lovely and friendly. He was not always the easiest of patients as he had Ms and slight dementia, but they were always so patient with him. We were, and still are so grateful for all they did for him and always tried to give him the best quality of life. Thank you again from all family. After his passing, the management and staff were so kind, I myself was unable to return to the home as I was so upset, so they kindly packaged his belongings up for us, and when my partner went to collect, they sat and had a coffee with him before he left. I can not recommend this care home more highly.

My mother was accepted at this nursing home after she was given notice by her previous care home. What a difference. This is a small home but that is homely, staff and management friendly and approachable and any problems or queries addressed professionally and quickly. My mother has been here 16 months and has settled well. I am confident my mother is well cared for and have no concerns for her wellbeing. When weather permits the garden area and large ponds offer a quiet area to enjoy. A safe and caring environment.
