My friend has been a resident now for a few months. She lacked confidence and had lost a lot of weight, she also did not hold a conversation with you. But now she is chatty, holding a conversation with us, putting on weight. The staff are amazing with her and all the other residents, we are pleased
she is being looked after so well. Everyone of the staff are kind and always there to help, with a smile. Cannot fault anything.

Ashgrove Care home staff have been amazing with my Mom since she has been there. Having dementia, moving was quite daunting for her, but we needn't have worried. They have all made Mom and my sister and I feel like part of the family. All our worries have gone away. We can't thank them enough for their
kindness and compassion. They are all fantastic. We can't praise them enough.

Can recommend Ashgrove Care Home to anyone who wishes their loved one to be looked after to the highest standard. The staff are very caring and thoughtful to residents and their families.
Nothing is too much trouble for them. There are activities for residents to keep their minds active and physically
occupied. I would recommend to anyone (well done Ashgrove).

Absolutely lovely home. The staff go above and beyond with their caregiving and treat all residents like family. The food is very good and the home is always very clean and tidy.
I wouldn't wish for my mom to be anywhere else but here in Ashgrove.

We are happy with the care our mother is getting at Ashgrove, staff are good during the day, we feel there needs to be more activities to stimulate the residents.

My mom is currently a resident in Ashgrove Coppice and has been for nearly two years. I am happy to say the care she receives is second to none. The staff go above and beyond their job roles to make sure residents are happy. They welcome us as family as they do their residents. They work none stop and
you can see how much love they put into it. Nothing is too much trouble for them. So glad my mom is in such a loving caring environment.

I was extremely impressed by the attitude of all the members of staff I met. They were cheerful and genuine in their greetings. All were respectful and professional in whatever their duties were. The whole approach was a credit to each member of staff and the management that must be in place to ensure
this is maintained. I cannot speak more highly about the level of care shown.

Sadly my mum was only at Ashgrove Care Home for 16 days but she could not have been looked after in a more caring and compassionate way. What stood out to me was how genuinely kind all the staff we met were, management, nurses, carers, cleaners, chefs. They were all so concerned and tried so hard for
her. She was treated with great kindness and dignity in her time of great need.

My father was accepted into your care a week ago. The family was extremely apprehensive as my father's previous experience of care homes resulted in extended stays in hospital. Ashgrove Care Home has been a different experience from the first day. My father is more eloquent when speaking, relaxed in
appearance and does not appear concerned when other residents are having an 'off day'.

A special mention must go to the entertainment staff as for the first time in my life I witnessed my father baking!!

My father has now been with you for a week, and on behalf of the family I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to such dedicated, caring staff.

Where do I start, cannot thank the staff enough at Ashgrove for everything they do for my mom. My mom has come on so much since June and I put it down to the superb care she received.
Many staff members, including the activities person, the lovely cook, the laundry and office staff, have made such
a difficult time so much easier. I know my mom is having the best care possible.

This is an outstanding home. In my experience, there's nothing too much for the carers to do for my Mom.
Great lengths have been gone to, to make sure she is happy and comfortable.
I can't speak highly enough about how well cared for my mother is.
The management and staff should be highly rewarded
and proud of themselves.

Current Review Score: 8.2 (8.209)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.2 (8.209) out of 10 for Ashgrove Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 2 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.3 out of 5 from 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.909 for Ashgrove Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (20 Excellents x 5) + (2 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 22 Ratings = 4.909
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.3 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Ashgrove Care Home is based on 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 = 3.125
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 57 registered maximum number of service users is 11.4. 2 Positive Reviews ÷ 11.4 = 0.175
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
