Could not ask for better care for my mom. Staff are excellent, nothing is too much trouble for them. Communication between staff and we as a family is excellent.
Thank you so much, Ashgrove.

The care my Dad received in Ashgrove was second to none. The staff were very friendly, compassionate and extremely kind to us all as a family. We were always very welcome to visit at any time. The facilities were excellent, very clean and always welcoming. The choice of food and quality was excellent
too. Dad was always very comfortable, safe and relaxed during his time at Ashgrove. We are very grateful.

My Dad was in Ashgrove for only a short time before his passing. The staff were extremely helpful and caring, not only to my Dad but to us as a family. The staff were very accommodating and sensitive to my Dad's needs. He was always clean and well cared for.

Ashgrove treated my Dad with the utmost respect and dignity. He was only there for 10 days but settled very quickly which put our minds at rest in the knowledge he was being well cared for. All the staff were excellent and not only cared for my Dad but ensured the whole family were looked after too.
On the day he passed away the care was second to none and we, as a family, were treated with compassion and didn't feel rushed at all. A great service at the most difficult of times.

My Mother is residing at Ashgrove Care Home, Cradley Heath. Our first visit to the home we were surprised at the cleanliness and care given to the elderly. Its been 2 months now and the staff are patient and friendly and would recommend this company to anyone.

I could not have wished for better care. My mother was treated with the utmost care and consideration for her welfare and dignity. Unfortunately, my mother died. She was given the very best end of life care, and we were treated lovingly just like a family. Her end was dignified, and she passed knowing
that we were there for her. I feel really lucky to have had mom in the care of Ashgrove. Thank you so much.

My mum has been a resident since October 2017. The care she has received has been second to none. In my experience, all the carers who work here are extremely committed to their job and residents needs all come first. On a personal level due to their care and attention, they have literally saved my
mum's life. When she came into the home she was eating nothing, she now eats fair meals a day and snacks all due to staff.

Mom only stayed at Ashgrove Care Home for a few short months. However, as a family, we preferred it to her previous location. It was clean, always smelling fresh and her room was clean and tidy and most importantly mom looked presentable and well kept so we knew she was being supported in an appropriate
manner.

We would recommend without hesitation.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

My dad could be very awkward indeed. He was sent to Ashgrove for palliative treatment. The staff were always very patient with him encouraging him to get up and go into the lounge and dining room for meals. This was good as he would have lain in bed many days. I never saw anyone lose their patience
with him when I was sometimes at the end of my tether. When he was at his end we could not fault the care and attention he received. The carers were so kind, always popping in and making us welcome at any time of day and night.

The home was clean and being decorated all through. Activities were arranged and there always seemed to be a drinks trolley along with snacks being pushed around.

Dad was happy with the food and commented on the cooked breakfasts he very often had, although I cannot comment on the food myself.

I have no complaints.

Was concerned that my father was not getting dressed and washed until 11.00am to 11.30am as all he was getting for breakfast was porridge whereas if dressed earlier he got a full proper breakfast. In fairness when the boss was informed she was on to it straight away. No other problems. Staff treat him
really well.

Current Review Score: 8.2 (8.209)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.2 (8.209) out of 10 for Ashgrove Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 2 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.3 out of 5 from 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.909 for Ashgrove Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (20 Excellents x 5) + (2 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 22 Ratings = 4.909
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.3 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Ashgrove Care Home is based on 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 = 3.125
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 57 registered maximum number of service users is 11.4. 2 Positive Reviews ÷ 11.4 = 0.175
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
