When I arrived, my grandma was listening to music with her key worker and looking through her memory book. It was great to see her looking happy. The one-to-one care is excellent. Her carer cannot do enough for her; his patience is endless. We are so pleased she moved to this home, there is such a change in her mood, she seems much happier now. Amazingly, my grandma is now eating again, this is due to the patience of her carer. It's so comforting to know she is content and cared for.

Each and everyone of us here strongly embrace the very serious moral responsibility to address the fundamental rights of every resident – inclusion, dignity, respect, equality, compassion and understanding. Our amazing staff truly embody the spirit that dignity is not negotiable, but the right of every resident and our responsibility to their families. My brother-in-law was at the care home until his house got cleared, the staff looked after him with so much compassion. We visited often and he was always telling us about the lovely people working there. We had some concerns about him not eating and drinking well and the manager kept us informed and showed us all the meals and drinks he was having when we were asking during visits. I particularly liked the garden. Parking can be difficult at busy times but I'm guessing they have a lot of staff working there.

As a family, we are very grateful to all staff working at the home. My dad spent a short time at Woodlands, as he was end of life, but he was looked after by all staff, from the manager, nurses, carers and everyone else. Visiting was easy and we were all made very welcome, the staff always checking on us and offering drinks. I only visited a handful of times, as I live down South, but my sister used to come every day and she had nothing but praise for the staff. Thank you all for your dedication and care offered to not only our dad but to all his family.

Lovely home, clean and staff always making a fuss about their residents. My mum was there for a few weeks after coming out from hospital, unfortunately, I couldn’t afford the fees otherwise I would’ve kept my mum at Woodlands Nursing and Care Home. Mum always spoke highly about staff, and I believe staff were quite fond of mum too, as they came outside when I came to pick her up, hugging her and saying goodbye that was lovely to see. I would suggest maybe investing in an admin, as the managers seemed to be rushed off their feet all day with the telephones and visitors.

I was very pleasantly received by the nursing staff who were very friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. The accommodation was immaculately clean and tidy and the person I was visiting was clean and very comfortable.

Don't be fooled by the promises that new management makes, it is all a show. All agency staff have got no idea and feel sorry for the few resident staff that are having to carry them! So glad my partner is home, not safe in there!

Prior to Langdale Care Homes taking over Woodlands Nursing and Care Home, this service was rated Requires Improvement/Inadequate by CQC and banned from taking new admissions. Except a handful of regular care staff, the ex-provider used agency staff extensively, with 100% agency nurses used and no...
Prior to Langdale Care Homes taking over Woodlands Nursing and Care Home, this service was rated Requires Improvement/Inadequate by CQC and banned from taking new admissions. Except a handful of regular care staff, the ex-provider used agency staff extensively, with 100% agency nurses used and no clinical leadership. The regular care staff transferred to the new employer and continuity of care ensured. Within 5 weeks, CQC visited Woodlands, rated the service as fully compliant 5 x GOOD, exceeding the IPC's, recognised as a COVID designated setting. The service opened its doors to new admissions, received fantastic reviews from new residents, families and professionals. Unfortunately, the reviewer stepped up her unrealistic demands. No mediation meeting satisfied the reviewer, therefore, in collaboration with CQC, CCG, LA, MDT we had no other choice but to serve notice based on the way the reviewer conducts herself and the impact this is having on staff, other residents and management.
