Situated in a tranquil rural setting, High Peak has stunning period features and beautiful, large gardens overlooking the countryside. But it’s the dedication of the long-serving team that make it special. It feels like a warm, family home the moment you walk through the door.

The home’s latest CQC report (March 2023), with a Good in every single area inspected, is testament to the devotion of the team, who provide residential, nursing, palliative and respite care.

Part of not-for-profit leading care provider Sanctuary Care, the team share Sanctuary Care’s vision of Enriching Lives. This is based on the six senses people need to feel truly happy and fulfilled – a sense of achievement, belonging, continuity, purpose, significance and security.

The team are passionate about their residents having a very active role to play in how High Peak is run, from welcoming new residents to sharing feedback on everything from the activities to the menu.

With the home's chef crowned winner of Sanctuary Care's MasterChef 2023, mealtimes are a highlight of the day, with delicious home cooked meals and freshly-baked cakes and treats every day for afternoon tea.

Activities are a huge part of life in the home. There is a hair salon for pampering, games afternoons, trips out into the community and music and movement, as well as gardening.

There is a spacious lounge for activities and spending time with loved ones, who are welcome to visit High Peak at any time, as well as a relaxing sun terrace.

The team at High Peak are extremely proud of their Gold standards Framework Platinum status, which recognises the exceptionally high standard of end-of-life care. High Peak also offers short and longer term respite care breaks, which are ideal for carers looking after a relative at home who may wish to recharge the batteries, knowing they are safe and being well cared for at the home.

Our weekly fees are individual to each of our residents and are subject to a pre-admission assessment, which is required to understand the level of care and support needed. Our 2025 weekly care fees for residential care start from £1279 and for nursing care £1729, but may be in the region of 30% more*. This depends on your care needs and the type of bedroom that is right for you, from our standard rooms through to our premium bedroom options.


*If you require more specialist care such as 1-2-1 support, your weekly fee could be higher.

I have found nursing staff and carers most accommodating and show respect and concern in the treatment of my mother. The home has a comfortable atmosphere and a freshness about the place.
The residents have been really well looked after during the reparations, it is good to see investment in the home.

My mum was only at High Peak for 3 weeks but during that time, she received a high quality of care. The staff were kind, caring and considerate to my mum and to all my family. We were really worried about putting her into a home but so glad we did as she was cared for by professionals who could provide
the care she required.

Sarah was proud as punch to be crowned winner of Sanctuary Care's MasterChef 2023!


Inspired by her children’s favourite cuisine, winner Sarah prepared a delectable chicken katsu curry with coconut rice, followed by one of the residents' most popular desserts, a rhubarb crumble cheesecake.


Sarah said: “The competition was fierce, so I am feeling very proud to have won! I’ve always loved cooking but working in a care home kitchen is a completely different experience, which brings with it unique challenges and a whole new level of satisfaction."
